It would be stupid to take 660+hp and RWD in a car like that on short, sharp, zigzag areas like that. Stands no chance. Taurus cop car is AWD, 350+hp twin turbo V6. Mustang wouldn't have stood a chance unless it caught a straight away with pavement lol

Ok, so obviously these guys aren't actors, but this isn't freaking hollywood. Its a fricking car review site. This is just simply there way of trying to incorporate three different NEW cars, in a form of a get away scene. Although it wasn't a really good way of demonstrating the real performance of the Ford Police Interceptor, Dodge Charger Pursuit, and The Shelby GT500, it still displays them trying to show you that the new GT500 is a great achievement for ford!

any car that can outmatch a cop car will probably be band from the market because american police get too butt hurt that they can't catch people to fuck em up with a citation...... they can burn in hell oh if you get one take it to court and make em earn there shitty money we have a unfair citation system that even insurance companies are taking advantage of.

Many police officers are not a big fan of the Dodge Charger interceptors. We just got them here in Canada, and replaced them quickly with the Taurus'. The ride is apparently less comfortable, there are many blind spots on the Charger, and Ford had a better warranty. It is a shame that the new Impalas won't be sporting the flashing lights over here anytime soon.

A feel the same way, I had a '97 Ram 1500 and about 300 miles after the warranty went up, bits and pieces started falling apart. I eventually scraped it when the transmission blew to pieces. Now, I have an '81 Chevy C/K 1500 and a 2007 GMC Sierra 3500.
The Corvette plays an entirely different ball game than the Camaros and Mustangs do. The Vette is too busy beating up Supercars like the Nissan GTR, Lamborghinis and Ferraris. The Mustang is puppy kicking to a Corvette.
The Taurus isn't a good vehicle in a pursuit anyways. The Law Enforcement version has a turbo feature that is good for only a short distance. Prolonged use of the turbo will cause the engine to overheat and the car to completely shut off.
Yes, because it has a better chassis, sharper brakes, more fuel efficient overall, and more reliable than either the Dodge or the Taurus. The Caprice is Australian designed and built, and it has earned its stripes as a cop car over 30 years in Australia. If they'd let an Australian FG-series Ford Falcon XR6 turbo into this pursuit, it would be all over in minutes

Just ordered mine. Deep impact blue with white stripes. Should be in in Nov or Dec. Can't wait. I had a 2010 gt500, keep it for a year and got rid of it, too heavy, but they inticed me back with a lighter weight and more HP. Will look good sitting in my garage next to my 87 GN. It's not as fast in the Qtr as the GN, but it will look good.

The new Taurus Interceptor is much faster than the CV it replaces, can be had in AWD, and is in fact a good bit faster than the Chevy Impala and Dodge Charger police packages.
Actually, it's only 365hp, and the Michigan Police tests say 5.75 second 0-60 fully equipped, or barely quicker than an 87 Mustang GT let alone a new 5.0 which'll do mid 4 seconds. With all the extra equipment, the PI's are significantly slower than the civilian SHO models.

the police don't car about keeping up with a car like that, they just trail at a safe distance and wait for the bad guy to lose control and crash into a tree, and then they come and claim whats left of him and take him to jail or the hospital, probably the hospital!
agreed, the mustang is a beast, but the taurus is now too, not sure but think its even all wheel drive, and has some rediculus technology, the mustangs a muscle car, which in my book are all about looks and sound(dont get me wrong i love them) but they dont invest the time in the suspension/drive train, its all about the motor and exhaust.
Chevy's engines always kept Ford in check. Ford really pushes the envelope as far as tolerances, if you boost more than recommanded, you'll bend rods or push pistons through block. Ever heard of Camaro Hennesey 1000HP package? Shelby just started plans for the GT1000 while camaro is already rolling with it. The ZL1 outdoes the Stang on twists and turns given the magnetic ride, and with the HP1000 package it will also outdo the Stang in the straight too. All great cars. 00SS 626RWHP 583RWTQ.
I personally don't get what the problem is? This was for fun, not meant to be realistic. And as for the "no wrecks" camp, this was a brand-new car, and MT didn't have a Hollywood budget. So just calm the hell down.
