2017 Chevrolet Equinox - 109,000 miles - the system just started to drip on the passenger and driver's side floor, thank goodness for Weather Tech. As soon as I ruled out coolant and knew the heater core was okay, I started thinking HVAC condensation. This video and a few others brought me to the understanding that this "is a thing" in several GM models. I was able to lay across the engine bay and reach down to remove the "pipe" shaped rubber assembly - 100% clogged - easy to pull off and push back on after cleaning - no need to remove engine cover or upper intake - great project - drip solved - LOTS of water gushed out as I first removed the clogged pipe - very satisfying.
HI Chris. Hope you still are active on this channel. Growing up without a dad or brothers or uncles, these type of videos are so valuable to guys like me. I cannot thank you enough for posting it. My Chevy Equinox started leaking and I thought its root cause was something related to this causing the issue but your video confirmed it. After a week of hot weather here in NJ (meaning I ran the A/C a lot) how nice to wake up on Sunday,(today) decide to bring it to mechanic on Monday if I couldn't fix it, and to resolve it after watching your video. Thanks a million man!
Thanks a ton...blew it out with my air compressor, and a shit load of water started spewing out. My mom was gonna take it to the dealer “costing $100 just to look at it” It took me 5min to repair it.....my moms truck is the same model as the” red truck in the video” hers is a 2016 GMC.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Unclogged the tube, it had a dead stink bug in it(seriously). Saved a trip to a mechanic. And saved ...I don't even know how much! Thanks again
I have a 2013 Equinox and it was in the same place. I did not have that 90 degree part but the tube was there. I was able to unclog the drain pan and this resolved my leaky floor situation. Thanks for the video.
The fan on my son's Equinox stopped working. We were about to replace the fan when we realized the fan was running.... while the car was OFF! Some reading suggested it was the resistor and not the fan. When I went to remove the old resistor, I saw there was water dripping from it and the carpet under the rubber floor mat was soaked. Not wanting to kill the new resistor, we searched and found your video. The 90 degree elbow wasn't quite as far down as it appeared and a lot of water came out after pulling it. Amazing that a tiny amount of debris clogging the elbow caused this! But, everything is good now for the cost of the resistor, which was $50. Wondering what it would have cost had we taken it to the dealer with the same issues!
This worked on my 2014 Chevy Equinox. Thank you very much. A bug was stuck in it and when I pulled it off water came out. I got the bug out put it on and it never leaked again.
Perfect. Had this problem and this video was the first thing I clicked, and it fixed my issue. Was completely clogged. Thank you for making this video.
When you say you blew the tube out how exactly did you go about that? I have a air compressor and I also have a shop vac so wondering the best west to cleanout the line without damaging it.,
I literally blew the piece bout with my mouth, but you can put an air hose to the inside line and give it a puff of air and it should unplug if it's plugged in there.
Chris Henderson Pulled that little drain tube off and about 1 gallon of water came rushing out. The tube had some black gunk in it. Cleared it out and the AC stopped dripping inside. Thanks!
SAME ON 2011 Chevy Equinox ..... access from underside, real pain! Drivers side. You have to snake your arm around & up through and use fingers to pull off elbow-tube, just pull off / push back on. Turned out to be a bug blocking the hole.
Will this make it sound like there is water sloshing around in dash when driving or revving engine? I also have water on passenger side floorboard under my floor mat. Not on it. Cant see where its coming from
@chrishenderson9411 so i took off the small line with a 90 degree angle only getting couple drips every 10 seconds or so when its off. If i start vehicle it drips about 6 or so times every 5 seconds i say. Constantly. Should it be dripping more than that? The boot/line wasnt clogged. Tried to shove something up the pastic part but didnt seem to change anything
@@chrishenderson9411 i tried that already didnt change anything tomoro i think im going to blow some compressed air in it. Should be safe doing that right?
Thanks... I think this is what's wrong with my car. The floor is wet also and its starting to cause a bad smell. It confused me at first because my windshield is wet also and I thought the water was coming from the windshield. I'm guessing the moisture is evaporating to make the windshield alittle wet and the freezing weather cause it to freeze on the windshield.
Thanks! Looks like that part is missing form my ma’s equinox. I reached in there and felt that part that protrudes. But there wasn’t that rubber attachment. Having leaks from the sunroof and found out it is clogged.
Hey I tried the drain ports that's on my sunroof do you have any idea how to fix this my mechanic said that's not the issue with why my floor is being flooded that you posted in this video do you have any ideas what else it could be and how to fix it
I’m having a problem like this with the water is collecting in the back of the vehicle under the hatch and it’s running down into where my spare tire is located
It turned out water is coming from driving on wet roads. Water goes through the rusty hand brake line hole into underneath the carpet. Had to disassemble the entire interior and by trial and error finally found it leaking by putting the power washer from under the car.
We have lost the drain tube for mine. Can someone give me the part number or an exact part name so I can replace mine? Thanks. I had to blow air through my system to get mine unclogged. Thanks for the video.
