I almost purchased one of these. I have 2 zero turn mowers made my John Deere and have never had a problem with them and one is over 10 years old. That is why I started looking at John Deere first. As I did some research I was told by a local shop that does repairs (one my quad) that these are not made by John Deere, they are made for John Deere by other companies. Also I was reading reviews on John Deere web site and there was a lot of bad reviews. Something about linkage. There were enough reviews that people are not happy that I decided against the Gator. I am now between the Polaris and the Kubota.
The clutch and belt won't hold up and if you get I'm six inchs of water the belt will slip and your stuck another. Think is you can't hear yourself think going down the road it's so loud
I have a 625i and it is loud as hell, they replaced the muffler, got it back and it runs like shit. Took it back and they said it was supposed to do that. I still love this pos though, tough as hell
Woah! Just saw this in my email from Home Depot, TASC telescopic ladder, look forward to a review! Great review on the gator! Eric busting your chops today Dan!
My father inlaw has the John Deere 620i gator, and he would probably kick my ass if he saw me driving it like Dan in this video. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is picky with gas. Has to be clean fresh gas from a station. They have big fuel tanks at their house with fuel filters on them but even that gas isn't clean enough.
My uncle has a Kubota 900 diesel and its more like your Mule.Has lots and lots of power, electric dumping bed and a lot of nice features the only down fall is that the top speed is around 30 mph
Great videos guys! That is a beast, they use those in a lot of fire departments, also make great hunting rigs! My uncle has a rhino and another friend has the quad cab mule diesel and its a beast! Is this yours now? Or did they give you it for a test! Eric. Why did you let Dan have all the fun and let him drive!
Have you guys seen those Japanese trucks. I don't know the brand but they are about the same size as one of those but has a cab on it. You probably can't drive it like you did though.
We have a 625i gator looks fantastic and very tough, reality is the drive train is made of butter and the 4wd system has no diff locks :O and the stupid yellow seats are so slippy on all deere machines..................... go figure.
Totally agree! Does your 4th stick alot, and grind when you take it out of 4wd, almost like your wheels are turning together? And is yours REALLY loud?
Yup they are loud with these tiny engines there all noise n no go.Saying that my charade car had under a 1000cc and just 3 cylinders and it beat most gti's :D .
I'll put a ton of decals on mine and a speaker if I ever get one and ride along with music blasting out and a decal on the front that says "nothing runs like a queer"
i dont get it , i drove my 825 in a mud hole in road an got water in it an john deere will not stand behind it , water was not deep we did not even get our feet wet
i had the same problem this weekend went mudding in my john deer gator the water wasnt anywhere near the intake and water got in the oil and the belt broke
It is strange to me how some on here always show up to verbally beat the Gator up when comparing it to a Polaris... Hey guys buy what you want and don't beat up the competition ....
for what little effort it would have taken, a electrical indicator on the instrument panel especially when dark. How stupid not to include that simple device Dr. Miller PHD engineering Michigan State University
If your a farmer and get stuck in the mud with your F150 you'll probably go get you tractor. And all the farmers I know around hear driver chevy duramax's and Dodge Cummings. Gas motors in trucks are junk when it come to hard labor.
You're both right. The Gator is belt drive, not shaft. If you were really engine braking, the revs would rise as you went down the hill, but in the video the CVT is freewheeling. The only way to get real engine braking is to feather the throttle in low to keep the clutch engaged. If the CVT is making that whining noise, you are belt braking, not engine braking.
I paid 14000 for an 825i it doesn't like water air breather box way too low they suck in water cost me $2,200 to have motor rebuilt do your research there's no lift kits for these no aftermarket parts don't waste your money you really want to do some trail riding get a better brand do you research look at the aftermarket parts and lift kits very disappointed in John Deere
