I just did this to my 2014 Ram. IT WORKED. I thank you for this video. However to let others know, the OEM screws are smaller than the screw holes on the new board. I just used some Crazy Glue to keep it together.
Great video. I was having trouble with my 2016 Ram 2500 figuring out how to get to the circuit board since the instructions included with the kit talk about a totally different console where you simply remove seven screws to get access. Once i viewed your video, I was able to easily accomplish the task. You only missed on small part where the instructions with the kit talk about transferring the plastic that surrounds the USB port. When you do that, it fills the gap for a more factory look. Thanks again.
It works! Thank you so much for this video. I followed all of the directions step by step and resolved the issue that the car audio tech couldn't when he installed my after market stereo. I wasn't satisfied with the way he left the USB cable sort of dangling from the dashboard...
Great video. I just got my uRam today but waiting for my headunit to arrive. I am confident, after watching your video, I can install it with no problems.
Taking the console aprt is a pain in the but i know that much. But once in stalled worth wild. The adapter i just plugged right in the radio and got rid of the extention
Thank you for posting this content. It answered a lot of questions. I have a 14 ram with a faulty usb console plug. When I go over a bump or the plug even gets barely touched, it cuts off my mp3 player. It has irritated me so much in the last couple years. I will definitely find one of these boards and do a replacement, and maybe even the stereo upgrade. Mine came with just the generic stereo unit which is very limited in features. Has the stereo in the video worked well for you and produced better sound over the original stereo?
do you know if this will work on the full floor console (not the jump seat)? I used your video to install this on my jumpseat, but am about to swap for a full console... hopefully this works??
Your aftermarket stereo should have auxiliary inputs. Also there should be auxiliary inputs as part of the wiring harness that came with the stereo. Don't forget that these trucks need a specific harness due to the use of a Canbus system. As for the auxiliary input in the upgraded USB it is simply plug and play.
I am using a S100 factory fit aftermarket stereo. It is simply plug and play. It is available on eBay, Amazon, and other types of similar sites. If you Google it then you should be able to find it.
Ya, this thing sucks unless you have a compatable head unit for the new circuit board, otherwise its only good for charging. Waste of money. Better to run a usb extension to glove box or slide out trey under heat controls.
@@mattjo0078 that's why this video describes installing this with an aftermarket radio. Without an aftermarket radio it is just as well to leave the factory one there. If all you are looking for is charging ability then just use one that plugs in to a 12v.
