2012 Star Custom Calendar winner Brian Veney shares the story behind his custom Raider "Smoke" and what inspired him to make it his own. www.starmotorcycles.com
Awesome work. The best out of all the Star Custom Calendar series. Hard to believe this is a 2 in 1 exhaust. Where is the crossover pipe? Also - great wheels.
Brian, amazing bike! Could I ask a few questions? What's size are both tires? What kind of handlebars? Did you lower the front or change the angle/rake? I purchased a 2013 and look forward to customizing it over the winter! Cheers, great job!
Stock size wheel.... air ride in rear and lowered front slightly just to balance it out for a nice stance. Check out my website... www.bveneydesigns.com
I did that all to to my 2009 FXD to Screamin' Eagle part times10! Seacoast Harley screwws ya big on things you want cash back on. I mean... they did the engine upgrades with me. No justice without paint to love though, like ya say, Smoke.
Honestly, I fell in love with this bike. I’ve always been a Yamaha guy, I’ve considered getting a Harley breakout, but I’m still going to get one of these. It was an issue between us and the Harley rocker see and I really think the raider has worn out because it is so much more of an attractive bike. I have to admit those stock pipes are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. But ugly. Why don’t they just do something simple like two straight coming out instead of two fat angled clunky looking things that most will likely get changed out. I think Yamaha would do well if they brought this bike back out. Slightly bigger engine, different pipes and the option for less chrome including no chrome whatsoever on the tank so I can be completely customize with whatever paint scheme you want.
Yamaha > Harley 24/7 365. YAMAHA is the best ! I own a Stryker, and plan to own a Raider someday... Every Harley friend of mine has their bike in the shop because they SUCK,.
HI THERE THE BIKE IS FANTASTIC, COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME FROME WHERE I CAN BUY Spike Cone Air Cleaner Intake Filter Kit FOR YAMAHA RAIDER S 2009 THANKS BROTHER
+Brian Veney One of the best looking bike"s I've seen. I'm a first time rider and was in the market for a Chopper, but after seeing the way you put your touch on the Raider you inspired me to put together my own Chop starting with the stock Raider. Brotha you are an inspiration, keep doing what you do. Brian, do you have a Email. I have a few ideals and questions for a Raider?
Brian Veney Brian i'm terrible at this Email stuff, it's new to me. So here is the question. Can i go with a 8# degree triple tree on my front end? From the looks of your front end you went with a 7# degree triple tree. Is a 8# degree possible and would it compromise the ride, i am willing to compromise ride for the look i want on my Raider.
You already have a 40 deg rake on your bike. You can put a 23 or 26 wheel on there. My wmail is veney7@comcast.net. i can give more details. Can also help with wheel packages if need be
Are you bragging about have been building with your own two hands a stock Yamaha raider?? It's safe to say you customized it. But right now you're talking about you having building it like you were some kind of sugar bear! That's confusing for those who barely know about bikes, so, if they don't see a Harley Davidson badge, they might end up thinking your'e the actual builder of your chopper if you tell then so. But, man! C'mon!!
