I got 2nd hand 2015 mk7 1.4 tsi. I was kinda wondering why TSI engine is so loud ? I though maybe there is something wrong with my engine, but after watching this video it seems it is normal, isn't it ?
No one that does VW golf products reviews on RU-vid except you, know about the...*all windows down and up feature*,on the key fob. Once again an well thought out review. Thank you very much.
Many thanks for posting. I've just ordered this car and can not wait to take delivery. A very comprehensive tour, it looks lovely. Thank you. Greetings from the UK. :)
Shame you didn't mention the driving modes..Drive 1, Sport 1 and Eco 1. Overall it was good video. Only criticism is once you showed the radio etc, why did you leave it playing whilst talking over it.
okk so far I like this 2013 volkswagen golf mk7 car and this car is also quite luxurious, and this car is also powerful, I think my brother didn't buy this car wrong
I agree, 7 years later still relevant .... I need to replace my 2013 MK golf stereo. Could you please help me with the Part number of stereo identification number shown in this video.
Most of those 'comfort' items are only on the options list in the UK even in SE spec. Shame this isn't the 1.2 TSi, it would be good to see a review of a 'poverty' spec one rather then a top spec with a larger engine and fully independent suspension.
alexlovesmac can you post a link? There are virtually no tests on this model in the magazines in Europe. VW PR team going into overdrive to stop anyone driving it. Even the dealers don't have them to test drive. Did you notice a marked difference in ride, handling and interior finishing?
Here you go mate; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iFICS5wtwAk.html I guess they're not doing as much publicity on the base model as they are on the SE/Match/GT trims because the S isn't going to sell as well as the other three trims. Most of the S trimmed Golfs I see on the road are rentals. Well, apart from less equipment, it pretty much feels the same. The steering wheel is different though. As the one in this video has a leather wrapped steering while the one I filmed in the UK had a plastic steering.
alexlovesmac Thanks will check it out. My Mum had one, in 1.6 D Blue motion guise in 'SE' spec. I found quite a few of the interior plastics hard and not secured. Also the rear door tops and surround to the parcel shelf were hard plastic, not like the soft touch version on the front doors. Also, did you think the 'leather' used for the steering wheel and gear shift was really cheap? It just didn't seem quality. Renault did this a few years back with cheaper/lower spec Clios. I say she had one, as she now changed it for an A class after 11 months. The Golf was nothing but trouble. Merc proving trouble free so far and cheaper!
Martin Jones You're right about the specs. I find it a nuisance, most adverts seem to just show the top specs which means having to do a lot of searching to find just what you want.
Alex, the rear parcel tray can be stowed underneath the boot floor - you forgot to show that. Also, the rear seat seatbelts are off to the side so they dont pull down with the seats if you fold them down. Two nice little touches which shows VW is thinking about us.
Toyota cheats a little with the Corolla nameplate, selling several totally different cars under the same name in different parts of the world during the years. A Golf have been a Golf everywhere, altough old versions of the car have remained on sale alongside new ones (for instance the Citi Golf). The feeling the Golf 7 inspires doesnt really translate into video, you need to sit and fiddle with everything to appreciate it. Perceived quality of everything you touch is second to none. Everything is where it should be. But I can't help but think it is quite boring. I like your airline hostess pointing at around 23 minutes :)
Thing is, the Corolla, there's the Corolla hatch, Corolla USDM/Asian markets, Corolla JDM, various other Corolla variants. The Golf has the hatch, estate, Golf Plus, Golf Cabrio, CitiGolf, various Golf models from previous generations in certain countries, etc. So if you look at it both ways, both the Corolla and Golf have similar backgrounds. Yeah, I agree with you on the second part. The Golf is a solid car, well built, everything falls into place where you would expect it, but it is a tad boring. I drive a MK6 myself, and somehow I think the MK6 looks marginally better than the MK7. Although to me, the MK5 is the best looking Golf so far. Hahahaha...thanks!
Hi there. I plan to buy a used golf 1.4 TSI 140hp. Can you tell me about the real life consumption? Also, are all the 2013 Mk7 golf's with 140hp come with ACT in the european market? Thanks for the great video! Really informative!
I'm not too sure on real life consumption for the MK7 1.4 TSI, but I had the MK6 1.4 TSI and that one had great fuel consumption for both city driving and motorway driving. I can only assume the MK7 will be even better. On the question about ACT, I should think so that all 1.4 TSI 140 and later on the 1.4 TSI 150 would have the ACT installed. Thanks for watching! I have a newer video shot in the UK that's on the Golf 1.4 TSI ACT 150 in GT trim if you're interested in watching that.
Personally, I never really saw the point of the smart entry and push button start system. It's more of a gimmick really, so it's good that the Golf still doesn't have it. =)
TSI stands for Twincharged Stratified Injection. If there's only turbo installed, there'll be turbo lag. Since there's a compressor working at low rpm range, it builds up enough power before the turbo kicks in during the mid range rpm. I think.
TSI stands for Turbo Stratified Injection. However, it is a little misleading because turbo only models and twincharged models both use the TSI badging. But I believe that the only twincharged engine in the VAG lineup, the 1.4 TSI 160, is being phased out due to high costs of production.
