It's like the car has an aura around it that prevents the snow from getting too close!

You have good snow plows. Having that many CM in that time frame when they plowed 2 times. It's a great job.
@MetalTim31
@MetalTim31 7 лет назад
Yeah, it's a monster of a plow that goes by. I have pictures of my kids sitting in the scoop during an exhibit. Unfortunately, 2 times wasn't enough for that storm. Those cars that you see flash by for a second or two were stuck there for a long time. I think I had the camera set to take a picture once every 30 seconds. So at 30 frames per second, if you saw a car for more than a second, that was between 15 minutes to a half hour in real time.

Im watching Snowstorm videos in August because snow smells better than forest fire smoke. An I try and imagine the fresh air and car not wanting to start lol

Seeing as we haven't had any decent snow in a few years, it nay be a matter of time before your dream comes true. I live is southern NJ, and some years may sed storms like this, and other years are practically snowless.

If 40 cm of snow fell, why doesn’t it even reach up to the hubcap on the car?
@MetalTim31
@MetalTim31 6 лет назад
LM Hall Not sure. Definitely some physics involved. High winds would cause the Bernoulli effect. Might explain a little.

How the car did not have snow?
@MetalTim31
@MetalTim31 9 лет назад
Filippos Kolpodinos It was a blizzard, so there was very strong winds. The snow would fall on the car and immediately blown off. (One less thing for me to do in the morning haha)
@kolpos-v5s
@kolpos-v5s 9 лет назад
Tim Robichaud oh ok because here in Athens,Greece when it is snowing it always covers the cars
@richardarnista9924
@richardarnista9924 8 лет назад
+Philip K If the temperature was near or just over freezing the snow would have stuck to everything, but in this case the temperature was quite low and the snow was light and fluffy, so the winds just blew the snow off the cars and created drifts of snow, some area would be bare while another area would be very deep in snow, depending which direction the wind was coming from.
@kolpos-v5s
@kolpos-v5s 8 лет назад
Here in Greece Athens the snow always stucks at the grass and on cars because the temperature is near 0 and it is really difficult for the snow to stuck on the road... 2008 was the last time it snowed a lot, around 40cm

This is a typical storm that happens 4 or 5 times a year. So yes, we have to dig out of "2-3foot" storms many times a year. It's pretty much nothing for us. More of an inconvenience. We used to get snow days off of work, but now with work from home strategies, those days are pretty much over. In 1992, I was in a storm where we got 160cm dumped on us in 2-3 days straight. I am 120cm, which I believe is about 6 feet... so that was over 6 feet of snow. With snow drifts as high as houses, some houses needed to be rescued because people couldn't get out. Here's an 'anniversary' article of those 3 days posted not too long ago. globalnews.ca/news/1809478/moncton-matches-snow-record-set-in-1992/

@@MetalTim31 120 cm is a little less than 4 feet, not 6 feet
@MetalTim31
@MetalTim31 2 года назад
@@paull2937 I meant that I am 180cm (according to my drivers license), so the storm was almost 6 feet. That's what I get for commenting before I had my first coffee! haha

It wasn't sticky snow and it was very windy. Any snow that landed on it immediately flew off.

What's this song called in the storm timelapse
@MetalTim31
@MetalTim31 8 лет назад
+James Kidsville Hi James, I don't know, or can't remember. When I uploaded the video, it gave me different things that I could do to the video, like boost brightness, colour and stuff. Another thing you can do is add public domain music to it that you could choose from a list. I really liked this one because it was one of the few that was made with a guitar and bonus, it is very catchy. :) I tried other songs that were halloween/morbid to fit the mood of getting 40+ centimeters dumped on you. Music really does change the mood of the video... But at the end, I chose this one.
