Thank you for this video. I understood how to replace the battery but that small tension spring popped out when I opened the fob and I couldn't figure out how to put it back! I stopped your video at 1:21 and saw it positioned in there so I was able to put it back properly! Thanks again!
This comment made me realize what popped out of the key when I opened it. The emergency key wouldn't stay in and I was scratching my head at what could be missing. I found it on the carpet.
Thank you, I first tried the replacement with a no-name 2032 battery and still had problems: can't detect key. Then I tried an Energizer battery and no more problems. What I should have done first was measure the battery voltage - the Energizer voltage was signiificantly higher. Great instructions! Without them, I was scared of breaking something.
Thank you. I would never have figured it out on my own. I would have had to search in the Toyota manual for the instructions that I probably would not understand.
THANK YOU! I WOULD ALSO NOTE ONCE NEW BATTERY IS IN GO TO YOUR VEHICLE AND MAKE SURE IT WORKS. DON;T PRESUME ITS DONE AND WORKING. TRY IT OUT AND MAKE SURE IT WORKS. SOME PEOPLE MIGHT WAIT THE NEXT DAY TO FIND OUT THEY PUT THE BATTERY IN BACKWARDS.
Thanks for the video. I have a key fob for a 2015 Toyota Highlander and when it stopped working, I had the dealership replace the battery. During battery replacement, no antistatic wrist strap was used, and after battery replacement the key fob still would not work. Now I have one key fob with an old battery that works and one key fob with a new battery that does not. I opened both key fobs and switched batteries, but nothing changed. Could have something happened to one of the key fobs during battery replacement at the dealership while not using an antistatic wrist strap or any other antistatic process, which may have damaged the key fob circuit board?
Where are you located please, because l change it but nothing change every time l start the car l have the same alert ⚠️ the key battery remote its low
