I had a 2020 RLX, but someone didn't make sure the items in the back of their truck were secure. I miss my car. I now have a 2023 TLX Type S, not as nice as my RLX
I currently own a 2020 RLX Hybrid, and it's my 3rd Acura, purchased brand new, currently only 4500 miles on it. Previously owned 17 RDX Advance and a 19 RDX Advance. The RLX by leaps and bounds is the best vehicle I've ever owned. It has the quietest, smoothest ride of all the Acura's. Under the hood, with the additional 2 motors, all I can say is "this car has BIG balls". When you lay down on the pedal, it plants you firmly in your seat. 0-100 in somewhere around 9 seconds, top speed 131mph. I was told I have to wait until the warranty is up before they would remove the limiter. I joked with the shop and sales team "I still have numbers left on the speedometer", LOL. The RDX's topped out at 111 by the way. The Krell stereo system blows the competition away, including the Premium ELS ssystem. The ELS I had in the 19 RDX and it rocked as well. But once you experience the Krell system, there's no going back. Comparing the RLX Hybrid to my previous 19 RDX with the detuned NSX engine, the RDX was very nice, good ride, great power and quiet as well. But unfortunately I had too many issues with the infotainment system constantly crashing. It was one of the early ones that came off the line. So I decided to trade it in for the RLXH, because I originally wanted all luxury to begin with when I started with Acura. The SHAWD is awesome. There is NO equal from any manufacturer out there. Do your research. Acura puts everyone to shame. Allegedly the replacement for the RLX is supposed to come out in 25. Lets hope. If you own an RLX Hrbrid, keep it. Don't sell it. Even at the dealer when I come in, they say the same, keep it. It's a "goldmine". I was researching a replacement recently from other makers, and I found through dozens of specs, side by side comparisons and reviews, the RLX Hybrid (2020) was a far better luxury sedan than the others current offerings, in may different respects. So I've decided not to trade it, until I see something better from Acura. Granted, the infotainment system, and maps is a bit dated, but I can live with it. I don't need the Apple compatibility etc. I can either plug my phone in, or not, and still play tunes from my phone. Fuel mileage is average. Best I got on highway was 33-34mpg, and city 28+mpg. When you put it in "Sport Mode", it drinks gas like it was going out of style. Still worth it in my opinion. I like other cars from other builders, but I'm loyal to Acura now. Simply because of a great overall product, regardless of which model you choose, and great service.
@@ElGoblino_1 You shouldn’t have anything to worry about, provided the car was maintained properly. Mine sits for weeks/months at a time because of my job, being away on the road all the time, and it starts right up, with no issues. Only problem I had to date was tire pressure sensor needed to be replaced. I also had the windshield replaced due to the rubber dry rotting a little. They said some RLXs had an issue with the seal going bad. Never leaked, or risk of it leaking. It was just visible on the outside top corner. Cosmetic issue. It was covered under warranty. I’ve got everything covered for 7/75k with 0 deductible. And the hybrid batteries are warranted for 8yrs, and only cost $1800 to replace (excluding labor). Like I mentioned, best car I’ve ever owned. Hope you enjoy yours. 😊
I love my RLX Hyrbrid. Although, I wouldnt say it has "BIG balls." It does ok. The car is heavy and although the pedal to the floor is nice, it certainly would not be a selling point for someone looking for a "fast" car.
@@ryan005869 Have you “floored it” in sport mode? That’s where you feel the difference. And the car tops out at 133mph. Quite faster than most others. I know because I took it that fast one day. Both RDXs I had only topped out at 111. And the 19 RDX has the same engine as the NSX, just de tuned.

I bought a 2020 before they all disappeared. Gilded pewter metallic exterior with the Seacoast interior - that gorgeous cream color the red example in your vid has. Three years later I still love it. So the infotainment system is a little slow and the graphics previous gen; the rest of the car is better than most cars out there. Powerful. Smooth. Quiet. The Krell audio is fabulous. I am holding on to this for a long time. Honda "recommends" the 91 octane, but says 87 is suitable. I can't tell a difference between the two, but I imagine I get a few extra ponies using premium. Issues: 0. It is a Honda, after all. No problems. Nothing needs adjustment or fixing. Just oil/filter changes and tire rotations are all I've done to date. I may update the nav this year because some maps seem a little out of date. P.S. To boot I got a killer deal on it. Brand new, during the summer of Covid. Bought it for $46k out the door (pre-tax) plus got the dealer to throw in lots of extras like winter mats, trunk net, etc.
Another fun fact is that the Acura RLX is still known as the Honda Legend in Japan. We unfortunately lost this nameplate in the states starting in 1996...
I had a 2013 TL 2WD w/ Tech Package, which was a solid and dependable car. I had someone crash into it for me last year and it was totaled. As a result I picked up a 2018 RLX 2WD. This RLX has been phenomenal. I could not find a hybrid model for sale when I was in the market. At this point I wouldn't give up my RLX. I have plenty of luxury, plenty of zip and of course dependability. Great video. I am always interested in videos just like this. Thanks for posting.
i found one in Pennsylvania at a Toyota dealership with 16k miles, 2020 Hybrid for $38k…jumped on the next flight from Va to Pa a week before my 44th birthday in November…Happy Birthday to me, lol
Currently have a 2020 sport hybrid. I had a 2018 tech package. There is a big difference to me in how the car drives, stereo sounds and overall performance of the car. I love a good stereo and the KRELL is worth it in my opinion. Always loved Acura since the 90’s.
I drove one of these & it was a serene ride. Acura will all the right points but will hold back a lot due to wanting their cars to be reliable. It sucks for the enthusiast, but they need to make sure these vehicles last at least a decade.
2019 RLX Sprots Hybrid Advance owner here. I never got below 30 mpg combined driving. This is the perfect wolf-under-a-sheep's-skin car with 0-60 below 5 seconds. No one was buying these due to Acura's who knows why pricing. I bought mine from the dealership's sales manager who used it as a company car. If Acura makes another sports hybrid besides NSX, I'll buy another one.

The design language in 2009+ was off putting. Their current design is one of the best out there. The past few years Honda hasn’t figured out their supply chain issues. Their purpose has always been reliability. The euros have power but they break all the gdamn time.

This car is the best car ever owned. I had a 2009 TL Acura, which I loved with the 3.7 L motor sport hybrid just such a whole different bar and is so useful in the city where you don’t go very fast and get terrible economy. Sport hybrid but she gets 28 miles per gallon in the city 😮. On the highway this thing in sport mode is a beast and it’s a total sleeper off the line.
Purchased a new19 MDX Adv Sport Hybrid in Mar/2019 and was instantly impressed with the vehicle. Decided to look for an used/CPO RLX Sport Hybrid and found a CPO 18 red/ebony Sport Hybrid with only 7200 miles in Dec/2019. Zero issues wit either vehicles (MDX: +41,000 miles, RLX:+23,000 miles). The RLX always gets people's attention because of its color and looks (usually the +40 crowd), you only see a few a year, and it stands out because there are way too many CUV/SUVs/Trucks on the road today.
I have recently purchased a 2020 Acura RLX Hybrid and let me say this is one excellent car . Yes the infotainment is dated but I know this system and I like the dual screen . It gets the job done and the Krell speaker system is outstanding . The ride is fantastic the power smooth and will really go when ask . Super quiet and the steering is excellent . The reviewers missed the boat on this jewel they also look great you don't see many . They only made probably 500 Hybrids in 2018-2020 . Go look at the reviews of people who have owned all the way back to 2014. Almost all praise the vehicle and give it 5 stars and after having this thing for a bit I can totaly see why . Only car I have been in that drove like this was lexus 450 . If you get a shot at owning one of these get it you won't regret it great all aroung vehicle .
I owned a 2014 RLX the Krell audio system is one of the best I have ever heard. The depth and clarity of the full range of genres of music is second to none. I also own a Lexus with a Mark Levinson audio system 14-speaker system, which awesome; but still doesn’t match the sound of the Krell in my RLX.
I purchased a 2015 RLX Sport Hybrid because of the three electric motors and the extra horsepower they provide. When you put it in sport mode it comes alive with an aggressive tune and when you get on it, it flies. Practically speaking it get very good gas mileage for such a large car and my 6'8" son can ride in the back seat.
I remember that Acura marketed the TLX Type S to be the fastest Acura, so I thought that it would be faster than the 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD clocking 0-60 mph in 4.8 secs. I was so wrong.
Yea according to car and driver both this and the Type S did 60 in 4.9 seconds so def a bit annoying to see that there was no growth but I will say new TLX does handle amazing
to be fair, the TLX Type S traps a little quicker in the quarter-mile and is 0.2 seconds quicker 5-60 mph, as per C&D. And 5-60 mph is a much better metric for "real-world" acceleration.
@@uyscuty5633 The RLX Sport Hybrid has been out since 2014 and the EV tech is used in the 17-20 MDX Sport Hybrid and 2nd +17 Gen NSX. You get a 8yr/100,000 miles warranty on the EV components with the Sport Hybrid. There isn't any additional service items with the Sport Hybrid system compared to TLX Type-S; except, the DC inverter cooling system fluid change at 105k. Extremely reliable Sport Hybrid powertrain with no serpentine belt, brakes last longer because of regen braking, city/hwy/combined mpgs of 27-29 always, sh-awd with or without engine power, very efficient/smooth 7DCT, and true tq vectoring with gas pedal or brake pedal or no pedal pressed.

Sounded like you were not familiar with the Sport hybrid powertrain that is almost 10 year old with probably +20 million miles across the RLX, MDX, and NSX model runs. The all new 10AT has more shifting issues compared to the entire life of the 7DCT.
I've has my 2020 acura rlx sport hybrid for 1 year now and I love it fun to drive fast I honestly think acura underrated the hp numbers it deff feels faster Than 377hp the krell audio system is a little letdown the bass is just not crisp my amp went out on me within the first 6 months of owning it dealer changed it under warranty they showed me the invoice it was 4500 list price for krell being a high end name I think they could of done better with a sound system I had a 22 mdx as a loaner and it had a els 3D audio system and that blew mine out the water but overall I would not trade my car in for any other car on the market I'm driving it til the wheels fall off lol
I also went with Lexus. I didn't want/need a car that big so I couldn't justify buying it. I went with the IS 350 F Sport RWD. I have a Rotrex supercharger on order for it currently.

It wasn't the tech or styling. North America was moving away from sedan (especially luxury sedans) and into trucks, CUV crossovers, mini vans, and SUVs. That is why so many car manufacturers mostly sell CUV, SUV, or trucks now days. Large sedans are slowly going away like station wagons.
I picked up a 2016 a few years ago - overall a decent car. Transmission is pretty jerky from a stop; the handover from electric to gas is poor. Had issues with the centre stack screens intermittently decide not to work. Trunk with the battery in the way is awkwardly tiny. Back seats are great, vehicle is quiet and fuel economy is around 9L/100km.

The buying experience was great - they bent over backwards fixing issues we noticed prior to delivery (scuffs and scrapes, cracked side mirror cover, push button transmission button issue). The sale was early COVID so dealers still had stock and had to haggle and make the customer happy. With all the electrical complexity we did buy an Acura extended warranty just in case. I think we were CAD$32k out the door all-in. With the screen issue they couldn’t replicate the fault. I had my wife record video of it when it did happen so it could be sent to the service advisor. That was enough to get it covered and repaired if there is a post-warranty claim.
@@MeynMotorGroup I can’t speak too much about the service department - we’ve had the car ~3 years and only done 5000km (3000 mi). Pretty much just oil changes and mandatory minimum maintenance.
The 17-20 MDX Sport Hybrid had the same EV powertrain; but, had a 3.0L engine. The MDX sport hybrid had electronic dampers with Comfort/Normal/Sport/Sport+ modes, sporty seats, 19.4 gal gas tank for 425-450 mile range, updated info-tainment with Carplay for 18-20 model years, and real wood trim.
I've got no kids and I don't drive people around often so a car this big is pointless for me, though it is a pretty decent looking and decently powered car. I went with a 2018 Lexus IS 350 F Sport instead, have a Rotrex supercharger on order for it now.
Yes I have owned a acura RLX 2015 I do have the 2019 RLX hybrid sports it is a fantastic car runs good them Dodge chargers and challengers cannot compete with it on take off it is a fast and durable car and has a great ride I would tell anyone if you get a chance to own one you should try it out and you will not see that car up-and-down the road like you do all the rest because it's the best
You rarely see these on the road and they're not bad looking either, I don't know how newer Acura reliability is but back in early 2015 I bought a first model year fully loaded 96' Acura 3.5RL in the press release color dark green metallic from the original owner with 112,000 miles on it with all original books and accessories, it was too clean and inexpensive to pass on at the time to use as a good back and forth car and I still have it today, while it's not the most exciting to drive it's been extremely reliable, drives smooth, not a single light on or code thrown for an almost 30 year old vehicle and thats impressive, its a solidly built car for sure, if the newer ones are even close to the build quality it can be a good car to own long term.
for me, when i purchase a vehicle, i make it my business to stay away from the opinions of others because i prefer to be genuine about my decisions in getting what i want…i just bought a 2020 RLX Sport Hybrid with 16k miles for $38k and i love it…my fiancé just bought a 2019 Audi RS5 with 17k for $70k and it’s a beast…however, we have to have a front and rear license plate in VA and her front license plate frame was a total of $850 installed by Audi…although i’m sure, if she knew, she could’ve gotten it somewhere cheaper…as i told her, her cost of ownership will damn near quadruple mines all in the name of power and performance on highways that limit us to 70mph…i simply love the fact i don’t pull up next to another car like mines at every other traffic light…folk can have all that horsepower that they can rarely LEGALLY use unless you go to the track…unless your German car is actually made in Germany-Hungary, you’re getting nothing more than a dumbed-down American made over-priced alternative
It also gets MUCH better fuel economy than the new TLX. They wasted millions on developing a new engine (3.0T) that is much worse than their already existing drivetrain in this car... They should have just given the new TLX this drivetrain. Edit: Also the RLX probably was lighter than the new TLX depsite the RLX offering much more interior space and being a hybrid...
The 377hp/341tq 3.5L RLX powertrain is a beast. I really think the RLX is underrated in power because of the 3 electric motors with minimal drivetrain loss that can have max tq at much lower rpms. The big issue with the Sport Hybrid powertrain in the RLX was: - hybrid powertrain added around 400lbs (sh-awd comes in at +/- 200lbs) - extremely front heavy - smaller 15.1 gal gas tank - battery pack took up about 1/3 of the trunk space - back seats didn't fold down or recline because of battery pack The TLX is a smaller vehicle and probably take up even more space to hide the EV tech, will be more front heavy, and add another +200lbs to the TLX Type-S overall weight. The Sport Hybrid system was much easier to hide in the MDX (same interior/exterior dimensions, 19 gal gas tank for 425-450 mile range, and same roof/interior cargo capacity as 3.5L MDX).
I have a 2018. The Krell system is very good. But it’s not the best. It kind of lacked in bass. I think the Mark L that Lexus use is better. But otherwise one of the better audio system out there. I had a Kia Sorento that boasted a Bose sound system. It was only Bose in name. was not very impressive
While the RLX is certainly the more practical car, it simply didn't sell. Even with chip shortage, Acura sold more TLX Type S's in two years than they sold RLX's in the last five years of production. And I'm not even including the TLX 2.0T's into the equation.
Yeah that infotainment is was too outdated, same goes for the NSX which I have also had one of, you’ll find the same infotainment system used the previous gen civic, and is also used in the current Ridgeline, overall just outdated and really not the most suitable for a supercar, but we can’t have everything I guess, besides that tho the NSX is an amazing car. And also the pricing of the RLX was a big killer and a main reason that Acura didn’t sell many
@@tylerprochot3864 Pretty much all sedans in the non-luxury and luxury category have been slipping in sales for over 10 years. Similarly priced CUV/SUV and trucks have been growing in sales. The RLX would have died just like a lot of sedans that were sold in North America.
I pulled the trigger on a 18 sport hybrid. It drives great. In terms of handling, it would be great if Acura allows me to use the sport Mode steering setting with the regular drive mode. I like everything of it, other than the frequent engine on and off would mean more maintenance. Also the seat belt buckle is more difficult to fasten with a car seat. Not sure if it's just my booster seat or what.
So this is odd car. In 2014 it was a head of the curve by 2018 when it did the refresh it was a whole generation behind. This was the first sh AWD product with torque steer. Afterall there was no limited slip on the front axle so it was open diff. The rear could move power around so that helped but that was only in the rear. The second off part is the fwd version gets rear steer. The shawd didn't and it probably needed it more. Now I'm guessing they didn't have space for it but it was an odd omission. Next it's no less expensive than a 540i, no faster, and no more efficient despite being a hybrid. That said why I never bought one is because I want no parts of a 2k timing belt service. Everyone dumps thier v6 Honda and Acuras so they can skip that service. The car is a little better than an Avalon but it's not 15 to 20k better than an Avalon.
I have an 18 RLX Sport Hybrid and 19 MDX Sport Hybrid and never felt tq steer? The RLX Sport Hybrid version didn't need P-AWS because it had the Twin Motor Unit (TMU) independent rear dual motors that could tq vector the rear even better handling than rear wheel steer. It could over power the outside tire and drag the inside rear tire for better rotation around a corner, with or without engine power. The RLX Sport Hybrid did get the same 28-29 mpgs in the city/hwy/combined with 377hp/341tq. I've seen as high as 34 mpg in my RLX driving 70-75 mph for 3-4 hours in the southwest. Honda/Acura uses a timing belt that has a minimal 7 years or 105,000 miles changing interval. Some owners have rolled the dice and gone 10-12 years and up to 150,000 miles without issue. If you stay with the normal timing belt interval, you can go 14 years or 210,000 miles with only one timing belt change. A 540i would have needed A LOT more unscheduled maintenance or be in the salvage yard 14 years later. The RLX Sport Hybrid isn't the right car for you and you will always have complaints if you are cross shopping cream puff cars like the Toyota Avalon, Camry, Lexus ES, etc...
Yes. Lexus has pulled away from the pack, producing some awesome performance cars while maintaining all the Luxury and reliability. They make cars people want.
Yes I’m quite pleased with Lexus I would say the best thing Acura does right now is their Chassis and handling but that’s not exciting to most people since you can’t put it on a spec sheet. Since they’re starting to go turbos, might as well give us some real HP since that’s what excites most people
Genesis has done an amazing job with their design and material quality. Their drive trains aren’t as well sorted as Acura or Lexus and their chassis tuning is straight dogshit
Another product made by Honda with brilliant engineering and tons of features for the money. Unfortunately the press beat the crap out of it because they said it looked like an elongated Accord, etc. I have a 2013 Acura TSX wagon (another unicorn). It's a bulletproof car, loaded and after ten years nothing routine has failed. I just wish the excellent powertrain (K24) was something more robust.
I HIGHLY suggest you supercharge that K24, you don't have to go nuts, an extra 75 horsepower will really bring it to life. I had a 1995 Civic coupe with a K24 swap and a Jackson Racing supercharger on it, it was putting 320 HP to the front wheels, but only because it had cams, intake, head work, exhaust and a tune. That car was STUPID fast! I regret selling it now...
Started looking at this vs. the GS350 to get some better gas mileage... just hard to find one! Seems like this, the GS450h and the Infiniti Q50 hybrid are all in this odd class of large v6 (3.5L) + hybrid engines that no one bought for some reason.
Everyone in North America shifted from sedans to SUVs, minivans, and trucks over the last few decades. Many car manufactures have dropped or limited selections for sedans compared to SUV/CUV/trucks.
Thats so true it doesn't really have direct competition.They say it supposed to compete with the mid size like 5 series,E class and Audi A6,but the first Gen RLs were similar in size comparison to the 1st Gen Ls400 which was Lexus's full size flagship.
Last summer I bought a 2020 with 20k miles. So far I am pleased with my purchase. I have had one service and it was reasonably priced. I love the power and handling. Only problem is tech is a little dated and you need Acuralink for Apple Car play. Also, I’m not a fan of low profile tires but the ride is smooth nonetheless. A great plus is it attracts attention because people try to figure out what it is. It stands out.
acuras issue is they’re too mediocre for competition, weak advertising, and they dont look much different from hondas in&out, and they lack luxury vs the premium price. the rlx is overpriced for a car that nobody knows exist.
I had longed for this RLX Hybrid for years., and decided I would buy one 2 years ago. Everything about the vehicle screamed a tech design that was far advanced compared to anything else on the market. I went in with high expectations and found: 1. Even with the smaller battery, the usefulness of the trunk was compromised. But that was not the deal breaker. 2. The infotainment sytem was dated, but was easy and intuitive to use. That was not a deal breaker. I had seen that the P AWS versions that came out in 2014 had lots of troubles with the rear end steering, and people were saddled with repairs that were unusual for any Honda product. That gave me pause, but that was not the deal breaker. I will mention that for people who do more highway than city driving, the P AWS was more likely the better vehicle, as the nose heavy front end was compensated for by the rear steering. The weight issue was solved by the interesting rear steering design. What really made me walk away was the Krell Stereo. The money went in , but the lack of true bass response was never there, as described by a Brian Gasser, below. For an audiophile, the Krell was a deal breaker. And the ELS in the PAWS ......was not close to audiophile quality. If you are spending that much money on a vehicle, an audiophile cannot accept the compromise. And finally, the "Sports" in the hybrid was not really felt in every day driving, unless you had your finger on the "sports" button. The day to day driving experience was more "meh" than I could have imagined. Sometimes the sum of the parts is greater than expected because of how they are implemented...like a good team. Sometimes you have a team with a bunch of high quality free agents, and they just don't work as a team. That is my analogy of the RLX Hybrid.
Not my experience with my 18 RLX Sport Hybrid. I found the RLX hybrid to be very sporty and responsive with the 377hp/341tq on tap with the 7DCT. I would floor it at 70 mph and be at 120-130 mph quickly passing several 18-wheelers on 2 lane road. I never had my mpgs below 26 no matter how conservative or aggressive I drive the RLX Hybrid (seen as high as 34 mpg on the hwy). The Krell does sound better than my ELS in my 19 MDX Sport Hybrid. Just keep in mind you are driving a car a 70-80 mph; not, sitting in your living room listening to Ultra HD with top rated headphones on from Sennheiser. If the RLX isn't for everyone; then, everyone would have one. Depends on what boxes you need checked it the RLX is right for you.
I consider myself an audiophile also. Had an 06 A-spec RL and currently have a 2018 Audi S5 and 2011 RL which is basically the same car as the 06 but heavily refreshed. The Acura's Bose sound system is amazing and better than the Audi's Bang & Olufsen system which says a lot about the quality of the RL especially since it came out in 2005. I kind of find your comment puzzling about the RLX's Krell system and its sport mode. I wouldn't think Acura would take a step back like that in their flagship especially since the Krell is next level above the ELS. As for the sport mode, what was it lacking for you? I drive moderately/aggressively and had my fair share of speeding tickets. The only time I really go into sport mode is when passing slow cars, inconsiderate people driving in the passing lane, windy roads and such. I don't think typically staying in sport mode in usual driving is smart because you will be revving higher and wasting a ton of gas. The car in the end has impressive performance numbers and still supposed to be their high end luxury flagship. I'm curious to test drive one myself later down the road to see how the car is and how it compares. I rarely see them but was a bit surprised at how good they looked on the road when I saw a black one the other week, it had good road presence to it.
Not cost effective to make it rwd base because it would be a brand new powertrain, chassis, and new Sport Hybrid layout. Having sh-awd gives you everything from fwd, rwd, awd, tq vectoring, LSD, and all weather/all season capabilities you can get with rwd alone. People in North America stopped buying luxury sedans over 10 years ago and switched to trucks an SUVs.
Yea I’ve noticed the average person hates horsepower, torque, engines, moving at a rapid pace, etc. Look around and all you see are soulless beings doing 15 under the speed limit getting in each other’s ways. I’m convinced that you can give the average person a fully paid for Bugatti for free no strings attached and free maintenance & insurance included for life, the average person will absolutely turn it down and say “no thank you I’ll take my Subaru.” Even if you give them something nice just being in the presence of something decent will cause most people to freeze up like the Senator. No wonder these car makers don’t try anymore.
@@MeynMotorGroup I can drive 220 km/h in my 4 cylinder 206 hp TLX. The speed limit is 100. I can drive 120 without getting a ticket. It goes 0-100 (0-60 mph) in 5 seconds. Your argument for a car exceeding 300hp is not based on any real world scenarios of car ownership.
I had an 06 TSX with a similar 2.4L 205hp engine. No way a 206hp/8DCT TLX can do 0-60 mph in 5 seconds (more like 7.2 seconds to 0-60 mph). My 18 RLX Sport Hybrid uses less gas in 87-91 octane range, improved performance & handling, 4.9 second 0-60 mph, sh-awd for improved all weather capabilities, more interior space, and overall improved tech, luxury, and comfort.
Are you in Canada? Fully loaded TL SH-AWD Advanced was only $45,185. A fully loaded RL with advanced pack was only $56,150. There were massive discounts back in 2012 too..
Zero differences between 18, 19, or 20 RLX Sport Hybrids other than price. You might still have the 4yr/50,000 miles bumper-to-bumper basic warranty still active with the 2020 RLX depending on when it was sold if that is the reason for wanting the latest model.

@@famicomnintendo I was lucky to get my 18 RLX CPO back in 2019. CPO comes with a 6yr/100,000 miles warranty and 7yr/100,000 mile powertrain. All Sport Hybrids come with a 8yr/100,000 mile warranty for EV components. I live in NM and flew to CA to purchase my CPO 18 RLX (only red/ebony color combo I could find at the time). It was a great road-trip back with a overnight stays in Reno and Las Vegas. I had my rear electric sunshade go off its tracks and the CPO warranty was charged $1500 to fix it free to me. I would check out 18-20 CPO RLX Sport Hybrids if you are still interested in upgrading from your 14 RLX. My city/combined/hwy mpgs range from 27-31 mpg (min 26 city, max 34 hwy).
The RLX was really underrated, but I feel like Acura did not help their case at all, unless you knew what you were looking at or saw it from behind the RLX just kinda looked like an oversized TLX, and when you step into that 60k mark, consumers don’t want their cars to look like big versions of the smaller cars, they want some uniqueness which I feel the RLX kinda lacked compared to its rivals, another thing was that it was FWD based fighting in a segment of RWD cars and I know Honda/Acura can make some amazing FWD cars but nothing can still beat the feel of a RWD car. I also feel they did not marker the RLX well at all, we barely heard about it
I bought the 2018 Acura RLX Sport hybrid in 2021. I love the car but had to return it back to the dealer because it had a issue with the rear axel. I think it was in a accident and the dealer did not tell me 😢
This is the kind of car you get if you're older and want something nice, unique, comfortable but not overly reliant on technology (see the gauges) but still want a sedan You can see why they never sold
Im the happy owner of a 2018 black sport hybrid, I love this car and upgraded from the 05 rl. My 05 rl handled better but couldn't offer the instant power this one does. I wish Acura would have kept it. The krell audio system sounds great but once you get passed 20 on the volume it doesn't seem to get any louder.
I have a CPO red/black 18 sport hybrid since Dec/2019. Love the combo of power, handling, and mpgs. Plenty of legroom for me at 6'3" in the front and back seats. I wish Acura would have added Carplay, electronic dampers, real wood trim, and the 4 IDS modes like the +18 MDX Advance.
