@@osurocks24 You answered your own question. The quality of talent and personalities outside of a hand few which made the sport fun to watch...Less rules changes and sponsorship not as much of an issue. Amazing how 5 or so years can change like that. Love him or hate him, guys like Jeff Gordon were still around. Raced in Petty's last one and made it to the era of Chase Elliott in both '15 & 16. Guys don't race that long anymore and the successful ones don't have to. It sucks but that's just how it is.
@@RKOClips That is true. There less drivers I know now. I miss drivers like Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, and Mark Martin. They were still racing back then. Good point.
First and only race I saw Jeff Gordon win at. Very thankful I got to see this since I have been a long term die hard fan of Gordon. What a party we had in the grandstands and infield after this victory!!
Jeff Gordon kicked ass in 2014. Winning 4 races and nearly winning his 5TH Championship. In 2015 Gordon ended a 38 race losing streak by getting his 9TH and Final Win at Martinsville. He made it to the Championship round of the Chase. Homestead would be his final race. He led the opening 30 laps but had problems later in the race. He finished the race 6TH and and finished 3RD in the Championship Points. Jeff Gordon had One Hell of a Career. 4 Championships 93 Career Wins 3 Time Daytona 500 Winner 5 Time Brickyard 400 Winner 3 All Star Wins 3RD on the All Time Win List Won at almost every track in NASCAR It will be weird not seeing him behind the wheel again but he chose a great driver in Chase Elliot to drive the Iconic #24 Machine
Kyle Thompson You did mess something up. It would of been his 5th championship and with the homestead thing. I don't think he had problems it was just the transition into night time, had it not of rained that day he would of had a great chance of winning his 5th title.
Didn’t matter the track, grip, weather or driver. This package produced the best racing on mile and a half tracks of the Gen 6 era and arguably all time.
@@jonathangrey6354 Oh no, someone disagrees with your opinion. Immediately try to discredit them by calling them some sort of "ist". Danica was a trash. The fact that Almirola was able to put that team into the playoffs and make it into the round of 8 says it all.
Damn the 2014 package was good. Revisiting these 2014 intermediate races is night and day compared to any of the low downforce races. And while the 550 HP package has produced fun racing at times. It is very hit an miss, and I hate that the are full throttle. But I will say this 550 HP is fine for NASCAR. The Next Gen car with a smaller spoiler and the diffuser and lack of sideforce will make it slower in corners and faster on straights. Of course we need a non restricted 550 engine, because with lots of torque it will be better throttle response and acceleration. All an all I’m saying the next gen car does not need 850HP, 550 is plenty as long as NASCAR makes those changes which they are doing. All and all the next gen car is gonna be amazing. It’s gonna even put some of these races to shame. The return to mechanical grip, so people just get through this and next year because 2022 is gonna be a major change.
I heard the reason they changed the power number (to 750 from about 900) was because of insurance problems for the drivers as the cars were frequently breaking track records since the Gen-6 debuted. And for good reason because the cars were approaching open wheel speeds (only about 20-40 mph slower) in an all oval series basically. I wouldn’t quote me on the insurance thing but I totally agree, these cars were mechanical monsters and should’ve stayed in the sport, if anything else I liked the 2016 package with about half the spoiler and the same power as the 2015. The 2019 package wasn’t bad but doesn’t quite feel like stock cars did in the past.
oh yes...i love NASCAR. I'm german, so for me there isn't any chance to watch the races in free-TV, that's why it's even more awesome that you upload the races. And the positive side of Nascar is: every race is close and full with action, everyone can win, the cars are on 1 level. That are the problems in other racing series like the Formula 1 or some else
Gordon would be a 7x champ this year if it was Winston cup points. 2014 was the last best season and it’s 2023 now. After 2014 the cup series was ruined with changes
Ryan Blaney's first start. Ironically in the Penske #12. This was his only start of 2014. From 2015-2017 he was with the Wood Brothers before going back to that penske #12 from 2018-present
I totally agree to a 100%! No matter what Simpson's episode you watch, they make fun of Fox, but their Nascar coverage simply rocks! The team makes way more fun than those of the other TV channels. Only, they should give us a "crank it up" after a full course yellow! When they turn 'em up and the cars accelerate on the green flag wave, the mike's will fly of the cameras XD
I'm agree ! Danica and Gibson was a tremendous pair, we can see progress year after year. Maybe she would running 15th or something almost every week at this moment..
First time seeing a race at this track. My god is this track boring as hell...sick of these duplicate cookie cutter tracks like this, vegas and Chicagoland....Nascar is dying a slow death.
