Truck should have telescopic steering column. Mine does there is a second lever under the column near the tilt lever that allows you to lengthen or shorten the column.
Great truck, but, prefer the GMC version, looks better. When you talk safety you want to know the 5 star crash rating this truck achieves. Furthermore when you want digital read outs just select which one you want because there are a variety of digital center gauge digital options for the center, speedometer with massive digit readout is available if that's your desire. As for push button start, couldn't care less like most truck owners, I'll expect in my vette though, which Chevy does deliver on. Truck bed, excellent all around, better than the other two. Fuel economy for a V8, excellent, better than the other two, you can keep the fiat diesel, I'm not forking out extra tax to the Gov. to run diesel. Hats off to GM, great ride on this truck, competitive power and payload, etc...well done, a top contender.
Not sure if you found out, but the HC I looked at has the remote start now avail. I was sitting in the seat and the salesman fired it up from the rear of the truck before he told me about it. Nice review btw.

I have been a chevy fan for years and own a corvette, but when it comes to trucks, I love my 2014 Longhorn Limited! I looked at a lot of chevys and GMCs. They just didn't compared to the dodge Longhorn Limited I bought.
***** yes it was a good review great job! However I do disagree on one aspect which would be the "flashy digital screen" behind the wheel. I mean if you are from the city and are used to a lotb of digital things that's purely opinion but most people that buy them like the fact that it doesn't have most of that and keeps true to it's roots of being a work truck and not a flashy "look at me" type of vehicle. I will agree about the steering wheel. That would be very handy for it to come towards you for people who are taller and need more leg room. Just went to dealer, the leather is only in the middle of the seat and is the typical treated leather feeling a lot cheaper than the real, almost horse saddle leather of the ford king ranch. But the king ranch engine is....new and unproven , and already had problems in the narrow frame trucks.... Also please note the gmc and sierra no longer have rear face vents. somehow they decided that crewcab rear seat arent for passenger to ride in comfort
The thing with factory bedliners is that they aren't very high quality compared to an actual Line-X liner. Personally I would buy a truck without any kind of box protection and take it to a Line-X shop to get a bedliner. It reduces the cost of the truck, and reduces the work done afterward.
I don't think you understand this is a truck not a supercar, it doesn't have to have all the digital crap and keyless ignition, that truck isn't exactly for the rich and famous, but for hard working men and women. I realize that it still has some of the tech like touch screen and high tech air conditioning, heating, but at the end of the day its a truck, a strong reliable truck.
+OpTicVette NO it doesn't need it, but having the fob on one of my cars makes getting in so much easier, keeping the fob in your pocket and just using the door handle to unlock it. Convenience isn't just there for the rich and famous. If you're driving your truck as much if not more than most cars why not look for the comfort and technology? Or do you prefer a bed of nails to sit on and an old map book to guide you to prove how macho your truck is?
Jim Cash. The Cummins only upper hand is that inline 6s are easier to work on. Duramax are just as reliable and typically more powerful. Yes axel issues, RAMs especially the new ones with Aisin transmissions get differential slip (a jolt when put in drive or reverse). Not to mention the typical issues such as U joints and stabilizers. My friends 6.7 has gone through 5 different steering stabilizers since he bought it new in 2011. I'm not saying they're shit trucks, they're all great in their own sense but I would not pick a RAM over a Chevy. As for gassers, everyone knows the Vortec is the way to go, hell even Hemi owners will tell you that. The Triton is a dog and has a ton of head stud issues. We have a fleet of them for snow removal and my friends with Tritons have all had the same issues. The Hemi is an awesome engine but its too powerful for a work truck they should have stuck with the base format of the Magnum and just tuned it. Toyota is great, no complaints but I tend to like American trucks more, not because Im overly patriotic, but its easier to find parts for domestic vehicles.
I think its ridicules that that truck here in Canada is about $60000 new and it only has a 5.5ft long box on it but just a normal Silverado LT comes with a full 6.6 box and is $20 000cheaper. Here in Saskatchewan and Alberta is illegal to put a 5th wheel hitch in a truck with that small of a box so my question is wtf is the point of putting such a small box on a FULL SIZE pickup? By the time you put a tool box in it there goes your box. I think it should be illegal for manufacturers to produce a full size truck with such a small box it should be deemed unfit for a pickup. But then I guess all these city slickers would wine and cry about having a 6.6 box its to long we never use the box why does it need to be so long.Truck manufacturers should not be listen to them city folks that don't even know there tailgate opens. What a useless pickup put a full 6.6 truck box on it then we'll be talking maby.
I like the Colorado but i wish it came with this interior as an option, and what is it with Chevy, no to push start button, still have to fumble around with key, upgrade already Chevy. Why cant I leave my keys in my pocket and push button to start, also why no flex fuel on 3.6 V6 Colorado, that fuel mileage on the V6 sucks 24 mpg that's so 90's specks, the 4 cylinder should at least give 32mpg highway and 26 city and the V6 minimum 29 mpg highway and 24 city. Chevy you guys can do much better, man the reason I'm buying that Colorado is because it will be my winter vehicle and I love pickups but damn Chevy, the gas mileage, damn it, and hell NO I don't want no damn 4 cylinder engine. problem with 4 cylinders is if you doing like 50mph and there's an emergency where you need the power to get out of dodge like a trailer about to side swipe you there's no pickup power on demand to bail you out of dodge serious lag time to get up and go, you have to rely on the brakes and pray to god that the truck goes pass you before it changes lane on you and the vehicle behind don't rear end you, and yes I've experience this many times driving my sisters vehicles here in NYC. Tell me Chevy do I have to wait for the 2016 Colorado for the push button start, those brown leather interior and better gas mileage ?.
The Hemi blows the 5.3 away. That big ass truck has to be a slug with the 5.3 in it. You have to upgrade to the gas guzzling 6.2 to even compare to Dodge's Hemi which will tow nearly as much, and get much better gas mileage. You might as well buy a diesel if you need a truck with a 6.2 liter motor in it.
actually the ram will tow more, my 1/2 ton outdoorsman is rated at 10,400lbs. mileage is not good though my best average for a tank is14.3mpg typical is 13.5mpg for me but who buys a truck for fuel mileage I bought mine to pull, if you want good mileage buy a prius. on another note looks like chevy copied the ram interior from 2009 especially the center console and display ...also have never been fan of the circle in a square wheel well gm uses. I think the gms look like shit along with the tacoma.... personally I like the style and interior of the f150 plat.the best but I bought the ram because it was 10k less and more capable. to each their own I guess.

TRUSSTRUCKER I understand where you are coming from! But I still find myself looking at a Silverado from time to time. Some people have no brand loyalty at all and others do. However, one thing I have come to realize is that Silverado holds its value more than Ford and (yes mine too) Ram. The only truck that beats it is....you guessed it Toyota Tundra! Don't believe me? GM really dropped the ball on this generation's design! The interior looks strangely dated with its boxy dash design, and the exteriors (thankfully updated for the next model year), still look dumb with those HUGE wheel openings! FUGLY!!!
TheJoe999Man nope you cannot get factory heated rear seats in ANY GM - PRODUCED, truck. I sell these every day and factory order them, as well as have seen and personally filled out the order form for them. I assure you the truck does not have heated rear seats.
The quality of the leather on the Chevy is much higher quality, if you look at a long horn or a king ranch that's only a couple years old, it ages horribly, discoloration, and awful wearing.
+Keenaid2 Don't mean to argue but my Longhorn leather is 12 months old, 20,000 miles, still looks new. And, what I like most about it, it still smells like a leather shop when I get in the truck. Real saddle leather.
Bajaheat i dont care, they are either built in mexico or canada The japan trucks are ass to repair from what ive heard because the way they are manufactured. I'd still take rather have my ram or buy a chevy gmc maybe even ford over a tundra or titan any day. The tundra is nice yeah but id never buy one because of what ive heard about them.

those squared off wheel wells look terrible, so does the front end, and the rear...shit the whole truck doesn't look very good or different from last years. dumb move chevy
it's supposed to look retro, the front end with the stacked square headlights is an 80's throwback, i had an 86 C10 Silverado with the stacked headlights, a lot of people like the 73-87 body style design
The Dodge's shifter is awful. It's a big knob that looks like it controls the radio and it just isn't very satisfying to use. Car and Driver liked the H.C. enough to where it finished ahead of everyone but that shitbox F150, so it must be a damn good truck
