'Harlem Nocturne' written by Earle Hagen & Dick (not Richard) Rogers for Ray Noble's Orchestra in '39. Recorded dozens of times (a tenor sax right of passage) most notably by King Curtis (the modern template) in '61 and revised in '64. Did gigs w both Isaak n Reno, great human beings. Reno was the rare baritone player along w Steve Berlin (Blasters/Los Lobos) in the '80s. Told me it was Arnette Cobb who brought him to the instrument and studied with.
