2014 Cruze stick shift. This is a example of how a technician may have to fix other mechanics faults to get to the bottom of the situation or back to the original problem.. Check out courses.handso...
Thank you sir for this in-depth video! I had an issue with a Cruze that I was driving and all at once lost everything. Through your video and the diagrams, I found broken CAN bus wires under the car between the power steering module and connector X100. I learned so much about tracing wiring issues, thanks a ton!
Hello, in this video is really good content that demonstrates a great deal of determination to narrow down the cause of a stalling, no crank vehicle. It is very reassuring that you used a multi-meter to thoroughly decipher electrical flow thru the wiring hanress. It is impressive that rather than buy a new wiring harness, there was stil enough internal mental reserve and physcial capcity to remove one from a another vehicle. Thanks for showing the benefit of exercising patience, knowledge, and persistence to bring the Cruze back gto life.
Good work Brian. That car was a mess! Just like the ones I get to fix. Lol 😆 dealers/auction cars and tow yards have the most interesting problems. Very cool how you worked threw it! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thx for being so detailed on how you went through this problem, certainly learned some knowledge in how to go through the CAN system, just had this same problem but only found it by luck, looked in that connector because i noticed carpet still very wet months after snow is gone here and was most likely place to find a corroded terminal or 2
Well you did a good job paying attention to the details. Sometimes that is all that it takes to be quick to the point on a potential time consuming diagnosis. Thanks for watching.
Dude you are a genius! I have a Cruze that I could use your assistance on lol.. I had a ecu pin burnout problem that I temporarily fixed and now I have put a new ecm on it and fixed the plug issues and I can’t get it running now 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah I ordered it from flagship1 and it wants to start but it’s not getting enough spark or something? Pulled the plugs and it looks like only 2 are firing? You don’t happen to have an ecu pin out diagram do you? I need to make sure that I don’t have the wires crossed on my plug and the internet is? Not giving me much information
Watch everyone from start to finish. Definitely learned some new techniques. I under utilize the ohmmeter when troubleshooting networks. I tend to look at the waveform and knock modules off 1 by one. Ohmmeter isolated the fault here
Great video Brian. The network issues can be a pain, especially when someone has already been messing with it. Videos like this make me happy that I work indoors! Haha.
Hey Tommy! Thanks for watching, working out side is tough sometimes, I was putting this car off for a few weeks, every time I could get to it the weather was not cooperating.
Thanks for watching. I love these type of problems. Just need a good battery and other people not to mess around! I was really thinking I had it fixed with the fuse block bolts being loose..
@@BrianMann216 those bolts were indeed a great start. It really didn't take you much longer to pinpoint the biggest issue, because I'm sure it was a combination all those little things too... or they would've been soon enough.
Wow, sometimes i wish the Car could tell what other people did to it.....Mushed Wires, Bathtube in the Rear and of course greenies :-) Have a nice Easter with your Family
Happy Easter to you and your family. It’s a shame how some of these cars are mangled before you get to work your magic. Thanks for sharing and enjoy Easter 👍
Hi Brian from the U.K. I’ve been watching all your videos for a very long time and enjoy the content and learning. With the difference in time zones how would getting more involved work with your classes etc Happy Easter 🐣
Happy Easter, thanks for watching. Currently the online premium meetings are 9 pm newyork time. That would be really late or very early 2am?? I have been recording the premium meetings and posting, but this is not a replacement for the interaction.
Looks like the stereo install caused tons of problems likely from the mods to the wiring and the vibrations too. That line level converter next to the corroded terminals was definitely related to each other. Some people shouldn't be messing around with wiring unless they have a basic understanding of how things work. What a mess
Pull your hair out , B. Your the man. What would you charge the customer for this kluster **** , do you charge by the hour , or the amount of lost blood . Hope you are compensated adequately
Hi Brian, great video as usual, I'm also a mobile tech, I've seen you use Milwaukee pack out for your charger and other things. Any chance you can make a video on your setup so we can all get some ideas? Thanks
So if I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze with same exact engine, only a Automatic, and it's doing the same exact thing, with the same exact Open then Close window message, I should be looking at the control modules? Is that what this video is saying to do?
What scope model is that little hantek? Do you have to use the leads you have to turn a screw to compensate them or can you use regular scope leads on it
Lol , no I love the uscope! I just gonna another one again (I sold my last one that I was using and they were on back order for quite some time.) Uscope is a fantastic tools for thr price and the convient compact size.
It is a 2014 model year, the 10th digit is an E, production date has nothing to do with model year. Back in the late 90's th new body style 1999 grand am had production dates as early as 12/97.
