Hello all! This is proof that even a small layer of oxidation and make a huge difference in the overall look of the vehicle, especially for this F150 Platinum
Hello bjdelovieres, It is our own manufactured product. Ceramic coat is not a UV protectant, and is not design specifically to bond to polycarbonate. We offer a lifetime warranty for our headlight restoration clear coat.
Hi Brian. Yes, 320 to remove the oxidation and old clear coat, then 600 to prep for the spray. The clear coat is very different than others. It not only has a lot of UV protecting properties but it also has filling properties in it as well, meaning you don't have to go over 600. The other guys you see going up to 5000 are just doing a different method. This method cuts down on time, saves money by eliminating the needs for more supplies, and also last longer (5+ years).
@@StartRestoringHeadlights ok thank you for explanation, I picked up a pair of 09-14 ford oem hids and one of them has those heat stress cracks real bad I’ll have to try one of those methods
@@BrianWelch22 Ah I'm familiar. Those cracks can either be on the surface or the middle pane. If their closer to the surface you may be able to restore them. Ford clear coats have some pretty serious hardening properties, so its going to be a little time consuming, but can get a pretty good result. We've had cases where the clear coat can fill some of the scratches if you can get them exposed, just depends on how deep they are. The best way to make sure you removed it all is to dry and inspect it before moving onto the restoring step itself.
@@StartRestoringHeadlights do you have a recommendation on the steps you would do to restore them correctly ? Like what sand paper to start with , all the way to finish? Wet/dry?
@@BrianWelch22 It depends on what method you are using, but regardless you must remove the old clear and oxidation first. Usually we start with 320 on Ford vehicles, but its hard to say without seeing the light. If you want, you can head to the site and send some pictures of the lights and we can get a better idea of what you're dealing with.
