2014 Honda civic ECM reset 

My battery died and I got a jump start on my car and the display stopped showing. The hard restart worked like a charm! Thanks for sharing the info! After I restarted the car I needed to put in my radio code as a tip check the glove compartment and enter the numbers on the stickers inside.

For safety the battery disconnection should be negative first, and the reconnection should be positive first.

Thank you a bunch. I had removed just the pos. terminal to gqain acdcess to the transmission fill hol. after that the computer said we were getting 13 MPG. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. I tried this on my 2013 civic ES Cuz my abs lights along with other lights would it turn off. So I did this HARD START trick and it restarted the car’s computer. Of course I had to drive it a few days so as to let the computer recalibrate. WOW my dash lights ALL CLEARED. LIKE NEW. THANKYOU again for this video. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Theoretically, this should work on every make and model with similar problems as well when no start.. By doing this you are resetting the whole system: not just ECU but modules, sensors, circuits. However, the computer needs to relearn the new parameters of idling, rpms, etc. It takes several cycles of driving..

NEVER connect your NEGATIVE battery cable first. always connect the positive to reduce the risk of spark and unwanted power surges

Fixed issue with alternator so it basically erased pcm memory to make readings right again, thankd bro u da man

3:41 press Menu button -customer settings -Display set up -Scroll “ trip meter item to display” -Then choose between average fuel, range, elapsed time, or average speed. -Press menu to exit. THIS IS ON A 2014 Si. Not sure what trim package yours is. The menu options may be a little different.

So I’m not sure of this will fix my issue. I own a 2012 Honda civic ex-l 1.8l auto sedan and I was driving down the road and my instrument cluster and speedometer went black nothing lights up on the dash except the headlight icon i pulled over turned the car off checked the battery got back in started it and it runs for like 3-5 seconds then turns off I’ve changed all the fuses and relays and nothing working the battery and alternator is good and I plugged in my obd read and got a code u0155 I’ve tried to clear it with no luck I’m not able to access my vehicle due to it being 35 miles away and I moved away from family so I have nobody to give me rides. But will this possibly fix my issue? Any help is appreciated and thank you.

I don’t have an original radio in Civic. It’s Alpina. I have no option to set the time in the board computer. If I do the same reset as you, will the time stop flashing?

Clock and everything should reset regardless if you just disconect either of the 2 wires off the battery. Pos. Or neg. Touching those wires together while not connected to a powersource is pointless non the less lol.
