I personally like the drivability of the 8th gen Civic Si better. Revs higher and quicker, is a bit lighter, etc. Fixing the rev hang and clutch delay valve issue, and running proper 75w80 GL4 gear oil, will cure the grinding and lockout issues with cold start shifting.
K20 revs higher, the revhang is from the computer, bro didn't have traction control off also. so it will make that shift changed seem slower 8th gen doesn't have rev hang its old, had 2 8th gen and 2 9th lol
lmfao this was me a couple months ago. Tbh i came to figure out that if you floor it the vtec kicks in at 4500 i believe or 4000 rpms. But if youre just casually stepping on the gas it will never kick, add some pressure to that step😈 once the final red light turns on thats time to shift
Yeah. I was a considering a Hondata tune. On the highway it’s great. I drove a 06 Civic Si and while it revved to 8k rpm I felt it was gutless down low. If I could I would like to combine those engines because the K24 really wants to rev but I feel like it’s a short shift at 7k.
@@eddiemcars Ah, makes a bit more sense. Still faster than my Marquis though. I think the 0-60 is about 8 seconds. Stupid boat makes a little over 230 hp but weighs 4,000 lbs lmao
The car doesn’t like to be speed shifted on the 1-2 shift. It blocks you out or let’s put a crunch. I read Car and Driver experienced the same thing. I prefer it though because on the 8th Gen you could shift quickly but it synchro would die.
