The oil cooler can be a leak problem too. It usually fills up the valley on top of the block when it cracks and drips over the bell housing.

Damnit I think this is my issue… Well I almost know it is because I definitely have oil pooled up in that lil valley. Gotta get rid of this Wrangler. I want to warn anyone with a Warngler that has a pentastar engine… BUYERS BEWARE!!!! I would recommend NOT buying a Weangler with a Pentastar!!!!!

Great video, dealing with a similar issue and this is leading me to the solution. I have a P0157, and just realized the cam position sensor right above it is wet, bingo!

I'm having the same problem with my 2016 Wrangler. Did the O2 sensor need to be replaced or was cleaning the wires enough to get the code to go away?

So oil leak onto the O2 Sensor will short it out? I got 12 jku. Have new oil leak dropped on one 02Sensor. P0137. Replaced that sensor 2 months Ago. Now got new check engine light with P2098.. freaking jeeps

Why is this vehicle lifted from the aftermarket step bar? It HAS a frame!

Are the bank references the same on factory rhd vehicles? Im thinking so. So, the opposite would be true - Bank 2 is the driver's side. ( To the right of the engine when facing forward, whether in the driver or passenger seats)

Good afternoon, I have two codes in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler (p2098- p0157) I eliminated all the other options before reaching the sensors, can you indicate which side is the bank 2. driver or passenger

I have the same issue with my 2015 Wrangler JK. I have a P2098 and P0157. Looks like I have a oil cooler leak.

Threw a P0157 yesterday. Bought the correct part from auto zone- but looks to be the incorrect part (white clip/shorter connecting wire). Bought longer wire/black clip sensor today and will replace tomorrow. Based on the above video, this looks to be the proper way top replace the downstream. What I purchased today makes more sense after watching the video.

If I understand correctly, there are four (4) O2 sensors (two on bank 1, two on bank 2). Are all 4 O2 sensors the same - meaning are the part numbers all the same, or is the "upstream" part different than the "downstream"?
@JohnSadlersAutoRepair
@JohnSadlersAutoRepair 2 года назад
Hi Cliff, thanks for your question. The 2 upstream sensors have different part numbers. Make sure that you specify which bank, 1 or 2 also. As they will often be different part numbers due to the length of the wire , etc. The downstream sensors, same thing applies. I usually buy them from the dealer due to alot of aftermarket sensors don't function properly. Especially cars and trucks built from 2000 to current.

I have the same problem on my 2013 JKU Sport I noticed the same leak coming from the valve cover my 02 sensor giving me that low voltage code P0157 and was stained with oil, how you get off all that grime and old mud off from the underside my cat has this cover of clay mud I want to make the underside look clean again. Good vid

Hi Johnny, I used some brake cleaner and a metal scraper. Had to do it a few times.
