This is incredible. Everyone who was a part of this (students, parents, directors, designers, alumni) should be extremely proud. What amazing moments this activity can produce.
Someone posted about "chords on the hornline being played before the hornline had their instruments to their mouths". What this person failed to see were the two horns on the field prop that introduced that segment. The remaining hornline came in a few measures later. These videos were recorded in HD and are best viewed in large screens and not mobile phones.
+Johnson Band Videos Aug 2010 - Nov 2014 You expect us all to believe two, unmiced (there are no microphones on the prop as apparent by the closeup of the trombone feature at the beginning of the video), backward facing french horns in the middle of the field can put out sound equal to that of a horn septet on the front sideline?!?? Then when the septet does come in, there is no more sound added?!?!
+Awesomenes37 This is why you do not make assumptions about another band's show when you are not a part of their organization. The two french horn players are both miced wirelessly, and are both all-state level players. They're perfectly able to reciprocate the volume and energy of the septet, but as I stated before, were miced for their duet.
+Awesomenes37 Johnson uses wireless microphones. Both of the French horn players had wireless microphones, both went to area competition for three years, one made all-state, and the other was a runner up for two years. You obviously have some sort of obsession with this program. Auditions are next May should you think you have the chops to be part of this program. Good luck.
+Awesomenes37 also the two French horns do turn around and face the judges before they play. Sound is also added when the septet comes in. As I mentioned earlier these videos are meant for large screens not mobile devices.
Love the Whitacre opener!!! I don't think it would have fit any other band better than y'all! Congrats on the awesome season and can't wait to see what you have to offer in the future!!
I remember watching this last year, my 8th grade year, thinking "I'm never doing this" one year later, here I am, playing White Rabbit and FREAKING LOVING IT
@@aidanguyett644 "Fly to Paradise" by Eric Whitacre. It's from his Virtual Choir 4.0 arrangement, reframed from an aria he wrote called "Bliss" originally written for an electronic opera that he wrote in the mid-2000s called "Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings"
omg a modern marching band that actually just marches and plays... what a lovely change from bands who are drenching in theatrics instead just being what youre called ...
GAM3RB0Y1 Yeah, but to be honest, this is U.I.L. scoring, which is mostly based on Music, Marching, and GE. Marcus did do better in music, marching was a mix, and C.T.J. got killed by going on 3rd, by being 7th. In BOA, they no doubt would do better. Plus, they had COLLEGE directors judging. Absolutely the worst thing that could have ever happened. If you look at the scores, one judge gave them like 20th or something, and another gave them 1st.
