It was honestly insane what Kyler did at Allen. He taught us through his actions on the football field that the playoffs were the buildup to the semi finals. Those were always the best games which would inevitably decide who took home the crown, Allen came back from large deficits 2 years in a row in some of the best football games I had ever seen in my life. Going into the state championship, everyone in Allen knew that we had seen everything this state had to offer, and the state championship was just a way to cap off the season on a high note and reward the football team for putting together a historic playoff run. It's like it wasn't even a real game, just a ceremony made to congratulate Allen.
RNTcomeback Texas takes football seriously (some would say too seriously). For example, Allen High School spent $60 million on a football stadium. If you search it on youtube you can see how ridiculously extravagant it is (Allen Eagle Stadium). Too bad Texas ranks toward the bottom on actually educating kids (39th).
So it goes 1A 2A etc all the way up to 6A. Then with the bigger class divisions they divide it into two brackets where the Division ll and Division l comes into play.
well seeing as how Euless Trinity sent De La Salle home shocked, and the Trojans didn't even win a playoff game that year, you can kindof tell what state is king in football.
that Fox announcer (chris) must have learned to talk with marbles in his mouth,,, wonder if all the announcers talk that way,,, warble,, warble,,, with marbles
Texas high school football is very good. Texas does football right, but what they do the very best is.......brag. The biggest things in Texas are egos. A decade ago, my Cincinnati area high school team played the defending Texas big school champ, in an arranged match up in Ohio. We kicked their ass. I admit, they had to travel to Ohio or no game, because we would not have had the extra money to travel to Texas. Too bad there isn't more ways to gauge who's really best. It's only high school, but sometimes that's the most passionate and satisfying level of all.
Native born Texan here. The top high school Texas football teams have been beaten by other states high school teams in early season non-district games. I think the difference is that there are so many good Texas teams state wide with huge multiple million dollar stadiums in comparison to other states. I believe it was IMG who soundly beat Duncanville a few years ago who was the top Texas team at that time. So yeah, even the top Texas teams are not unbeatable by non Texas teams. But the money that’s spent on Texas high school football is pretty outrageous. And many times Texas coaches literally run the entire school with a lot of political power and many times it’s at the detriment of other programs. Unfortunately I’ve seen that way many times. So to say that football is big in Texas is very true, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. But I don’t see that ever changing any time soon.
So happy you can hear the band. Wish the other team's band didn't sit out after the second half was almost done. I've seen a lot of bands sit when their team is losing. I feel like they should be standing for their team to the end.
Heh. Our director makes sure we play all game pretty much non-stop. ^^' I was actually sad that your band wasn't playing the last half. Your team was really good, I think morale or stress must have got to them in the end, because they certainly gave us some tight competition first half. Y'all definitely have what it takes to take state. We better watch out for you guys next season, hope your band keeps everyone pumped up next time. :)
Jon Jaxxson I agree. I've had a great chance to have a class with him and his dad also agrees he should do MLB. he could go right out of high school and even if he does get hurt he's still gurenteed that season pay. And if he does get hurt he could pay for collage easaly
My team, Langham Creek (in Cy Ranch's district), was the only team that beat Cy Ranch last year, and they went to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Man, I wish we could've made it this far...
That's not out of any facts whatsoever. You can think that, but the 2014 Allen Eagles were ranked #1 in the nation by Maxpreps top 25 and number 4 in the nation through the national High school rankings. So basically, you really don't have any idea what you're talking about, and are only saying that because California football is what you know
