NOTE 2 The 1.6 Valvematic Icon variant (as seen in the video) is no longer available for the facelift, hence that is why you do not see the variant in the list of variants down below.
NOTE 3 TSS stands for Toyota Safety Sense, a safety package that includes Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beam, Road Sign Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Hello everyone! Today's video will be about the UK-spec 2014 Toyota Auris five door hatchback with the 1.6 Valvematic engine producing 130hp/132PS paired to a CVT in Icon trim. Enjoy!

Personally I think CVTs ruin cars like this... they're smoother but they're loud and need a ridiculous amount of thrashing to pick up speed quickly... And this "simulated gears" thing - who are they trying to fool with that? There's literally no point in using these "gears" because by trying to pretend you're driving a semi-auto, you're unnecessarily reducing your MPG... And it doesn't do anything! All it does is change the noise your car makes... It's almost like Toyota / Nissan / Subaru are saying "yes we know CVTs are crap and they're cheaper for us to make & install than fully auto transmissions, but here's something to try and make you kid yourself into thinking you've bought something with a better transmission!"
