The last meeting between Denver and Seattle. Peyton Manning and the Broncos travel to the Clink looking to avenge their Super Bowl loss against the Seahawks, who try to bounce back from a surprise loss in San Diego.
The main difference between this game and Superbowl 48 is that Denver had a good defense. And that defense came up big in the second half and kept them in the game.
What was unfortunate in the super bowl was Denver’s 2 best defensive players were hurt. Chris Harris and Von Miller. Now I don’t think that alone makes up a 35 point deficit but it could have made the game interesting. Peyton Manning was also clutch in this game. That final drive against that defense in that environment is hard to do and he did it.
Again i didnt say it would make up a 35 point deficit. But its not like the broncos played all that well in this game either. They had 3 points going into the 4th quarter but were able to make up the deficit because the defense made momentum changing plays that gave them quick points. the safety and a pick that led to a touchdown. Lets say von miller and chris harris plays in SB 48. There would have been a better pass rush on russell wilson for one, which could force him into a mistake or two. And there would have been someone better to guard percey harvin instead of an aged Champ Bailey. The Seahawks were amazing that season and I still think they win that SB even if the Broncos were healthy on defense. But I would argue the game wouldve been more along the lines of 31-17 and not 43-8. Props to seattle for doing what they did though.
Buck Futtler well how did Denver score in this game? Off of turnovers and forcing Seattle into mistakes. I also feel if Denver didn’t feel like they HAD to score in order to keep pace and felt their defense could get a few stops they wouldn’t have played so tight. It’s just a hypothetical and pointless and doesn’t change what actually happened.
Peyton Manning became the only player in NFL History to successfully execute an 80+ yard 1 minute drill that required both a TD & a 2 pt conversion to tie in this game.
That Seattle defense was incredibly tough against the run! Which speaks highly of Jamaal Charles and DeMarco Murray who rushed for over 100 yards against them!!
This should have been the kickoff game, and NBC must have not been pleased at not getting this game at all. The NFL would make nice by making the 2016 Panthers-Broncos game the kickoff game, and making 2017 Falcons-Patriots part of the SNF schedule as well, though not as the kickoff game.
Watch this game and then watch Manning's games from the later half of the 2014 season. Man that zip he had on the football significantly decreased this season.
Love this game. SB 48 should have been this game. That first drive by the Broncos. Sanders fell down.... this should have been a TD. Would have changed the game.
Hi, thank you for all your effort. Do you have, or know maybe where can I find 2014 Preseason week 1 Seahawks vs Chargers full game to watch, or 2012 RS Week 1 Seahawks vs Cardinals? I'm trying for quite some time to find these now but no luck :(
This was my favourite game that Peyton Manning lost. The defense was still amazing for the Seahawks early on in the season. Manning led that comeback despite all signs pointing against him. It was a shame The Broncos couldn't finish it in OT. I always love that last drive from Manning to tie it.
Russel Wilson is sacked and fumbles; Wilson and Ware in a scrum. Ware has the ball! 1:36:33. Definitely brings back my frustrations of the 12th man... the Refs!
All Pro Chris Harris after this game told the media, that they have been over hyping Andrew Luck when in reality, he wasn't nearly as good as Russell Wilson is. He was correct.
They gassed themselves. By the time they got to OT, they had nothing left. They had plenty of opportunities on both sides of the ball but just couldn't deal the deal.
Now that he's gone...what's the deal with Lynch not wanting to accept congratulations from his team mates? I kinda like it, with all the stupid crap that they do sometimes ( the dances, the little mock tea parties ect.) ...just curious, if anyone knows.
