@@king-ghost1027Because you never saw Jerry Rice playing against real defensive backs that were allowed to level a player, grab and hold and get physical. Candy Moss was soft and couldn’t run the whole route tree. He was trash.
@@jaxon7628in a NFL video showing highlights from the 70’s someone actually made a comment to the affect that Moss couldn’t compete in the era because the rules were not geared towards offensive players. I was going to make a comment but I decided not to waste my time. Moss could have played in any era and he still would have been a HOF
Imagine we actually have stats to answer this question. Moss played with the Patriots from 2007-2010 when he was 30-33 years old. So let’s compare Moss’ stats during this time frame to Jerry Rice’s stats when Rice was 30-33 years old Rice: 416 catches 6,051 yards 58 touchdowns Moss: 259 catches 3,904 yards 50 touchdowns There. Does that settle the argument??
@@357twilson No, it really doesn't Willie boy, reason why imo is you have to take into consideration who was throwing the pigskin to them, Moss played three seasons with the Pat's but only had Brady for 2 because after that record breaking first season the following year that's when in the very first game Brady tore his ACL and MCL, out for the season, in comes the backup, inexperienced QB Matt Cassell , the following season Brady returned but the following season Moss turned into his old whiny bitch self and got traded in October to Minnesota for 4 games with Brett Farve as the QB then got the boot and Tennessee picked him up for the remaining 8 games with Vince Young 🫳 at QB while Rice had Montana and another HOF QB after Montana's departure in Steve Young during the age span for both receivers 30 to 33. Actually makes a big difference but overall Rice was better than Moss for their careers
@@Gregory-sm9pf Moss played 2 full seasons with Brady and 4 games into the 2010 season. Moss was the age of 30-33. When comparing Rice at that age which I did above is no comparison. What are you talking about? Moss had Brady for 37 games. That’s 2 full seasons and 5 games. So you can’t make the excuse of Moss not having a QB. I thought Brady was the best? So if you compare Moss 37 games with Brady to Rice with Steve Young at the same age, Rice is superior. And the Pats traded Moss because he was washed at 33 years old.
Randy was just cursed with Super Bowls. He was on 49ers in 2012 and they almost made a comeback in the Superbowl… ugh dude is one of the greatest of all time. It just goes to show that football is and will forever be a team game.
@@redred222Yep remember that game well. Remember Tom Brady orchestrating the game winning drive only for the defence to drop the game winning interception.
If you were in a coma and came out of it and watched this video and were asked, "How long do you think Moss and Brady have played together" you'd probably say, 4, 5 years? And when they told you no, this is their first year playing together , you'd be shocked and fall back into your coma
Imagine if Brady and Moss played together their entire career. Brady would have double digit championship rings. These two were the most insane QB / Receiver duo ever...

@moheganson Eli my 2nd favorite player behind T12. Fr. Dude looks lost all year but I've NEVER seen a qb routinely hit EVERY clutch throw on 3rd and long. 2011 was like the biggest treat as a pure football fan. Even tho t12 my fave.
@@maggiehill789I agree 100%. If I remember right, they were too quick to give the job to rookie Daunte after Jeff George had a stellar year and good connection with Moss. They should have given the job to Jeff for another year or two.
When Randy played for Marshall University, my hometown, we knew he was special right away. He and Chad Pennington put up some crazy numbers. Randy is the best receiver of all time in my book.
Imagine if brady had moss gronk Edelman and welker all on one team for his entire career. I cant even think of how many superbowls they would have had.
@@SaintOcelot i know. It would just be fun to think about lol. Now imagone Gronk, megatron, Derek Henry, and julio jones all on the patriots. I know it obviously wouldnt have happened but imagine the numbers.
They literally won 3 SBs with Deion Branch and Troy Brown at WR and only 1 with Wes Welker on the team...so kinda proves maybe this team wouldn't have won as many as people try to act like they would've won
Jerry Rice is arguably the GOAT. If Randy Moss had the same caliber quarterbacks that Rice was afforded he'd be the GOAT IMO. Moss had every attribute speed, height, route running, and hands.

Part of it was Moss too. He stopped playing hard, and started causing a lot of issues in the locker room. Brady constantly had to be the mediator between him and Bill. Eventually it became too much. Moss is a great talent, but he did come with his fair share of headaches.
I remember thinking, 'Randy Moss isn't that good'. Then I watch a full game with him in it and later a highlight reel. I was gob-smacked. Open field speed. Jumping ability. Great hands. Smart. Doesn't drop the ball. Keeps his feet in bounds. One of the best wide receivers to catch a ball in heavy traffic I've ever seen. He was actually terrifyingly good.
I remember when Moss scored a TD for Vikings against the Boys and he leaped in the stands . I thought, what a hot dog… the man gave the ball to a wheelchair-bound handicapped person. Class act
I don't care if they lost the superbowl, this was the best offense of all time. Anyone who watched these games live knew they were witnessing something they'd never see again.
Such a losers mentality you have. When it counted the most, That great offense only mustered 14 total points against a wild card team and lost the super bowl. Where were those video game numbers you mentioned at that night? It don’t mean a thing without the ring. That’s why the 1999 Rams are still considered to be the greatest offense ever. They won their ring. And there’s a reason they were called the greatest show on turf
It's DEBATABLE. Yes. Moss is GREAT!!! But in that GOAT Argument you must absolutely put Jerry Rice. Megatron. Cris Carter. Terrell Owens. All in that discussion. All were GREAT. My personal top 2 are 1. Jerry Rice 2.Moss 3..Megatron 4..T.O 5. Cris Carter. That's my Mt. Rushmore of WR Position. And you could put Micheal Irvin in that group too and it wouldn't upset me.
Ok i see how Rice and megatron can contend but carter and especially TO? Come on man! Dont disrespect like that lol even Fitzgerald better than TO or Michael Irvin.
@fabiansandoval6132 look at Carters numbers. Top 3 when he retired in a run 1st defense wins championships league with no top qb on most non winning teams until last few yrs of career with Culpepper and Moss as a rookie In Minnesota. Very similar to Megatron situation and ask Moss ......Carter taught him A LOT about WR in pros and how to be a professional. And TO was top 3 when he retired in numbers some were top 2 and dude was a beast and can still to this day run a sub 4.5 40 I've seen it on RU-vid. TO and Carter belong in top 5 argument both are HOF players.
@fabiansandoval6132 and Fitzgerald could be added to that argument sir. You wouldn't get too much of any sort of push back from me dude was a stud at that the position and moved around the formatiom inside. Outside. Backfield. Wildcat. Etc. No argument on Fitz.
@fabiansandoval6132 Irvin career cut short due to neck injury but man dude win national championships in college. Superbowls in pros and for 1st 2 chips in nfc title games of first 2 Superbowl runs was matched up against dion an put up numbers wasn't the fastest guy but was fast enough. In n out of breaks. Crisp route runner. Knew route tree was precise. Smart football guy. Clutch player. Go to guy didn't drop a lot of balls good body usage and control of himself in the air just a great all around receiver and again 1st ballot hof guy. With multiple championships at every level.
Im an Eagles fan and I was sad this 2007 team didn't finish it off and get the perfect season falling just short in the Super Bowl because they broke records that year with Brady and Randy Moss. Just insane!!! Team was amazing. But with that said they are the ONLY team ever to go 16-0 and no team will ever do that....at least not in my lifetime anyway. Im 39 years old. Especially now in today's game with 18 weeks. Oh well thats sports but man it sucked to see the best team ever choke.
@@joeywheelerii9136 Ok well yeah that is also true as well since Giants are one of our rivals. But those two Giants teams got hot at the right time and they deserved to win both games. I just wish an 16-0 finished perfect. It would have been cool to see.
I remember this year in fantasy, everyone was taking runningbacks first round just because you were supposed to.. i was like Tom brady has put up good numbers with decent receivers, he just got the best WR and Stallworth.. i got him like 8th pick and cruised to an easy fantasy football championship
Pushing defenders away from the ball every play makes contested catches easier. I'm honestly shocked no one else mentions how often this dude just shoved defenders out of the way with his hands on these long TD passes. Pretty sure it ended up hurting one of the Dolphins players too, but I'd have to rewatch to be sure. Just look at this pass lol 10:05 dude was allowed to just get away with plays like this constantly. Defender has had enough with the refs at 11:50 too.
Imo it's one of the best ever Two guys are both all over him And the way he catches it is like a wizard Especially his reaction like it's just another catch just wow
@@dylanthomas12321Why do Moss fans say this lie??? Moss played 3 full seasons with the Patriots and 4 games into the fourth season with the Patriots. He played a total of 52 games with the Patriots. By the way , the year the Pats dumped Moss in 2010, they went 14-2
@jasonwebb5964 strick season Jerry had so many 16 game seasons Only moss has 23 tds though I just question the League preparation that year being a strick year Imo this is the most complete regular season a WR has ever had
Randy has said he'd change only 1 thing about his career and believes changing that 1 thing would correct all the others he'd like to change and that's playing with Brady in New England for Belichick his entire career. He's on record saying that.
@@jakerojas4756just no… erasing a huge deficit in a single game is absolutely not harder than going undefeated for a whole season (or multiple as you implied).

I loved this team and I'm not even a Patriots fan, even though they fell short of a championship,I loved watching Brady too Moss,Moss my fave wr, especially #84 Vikings version,6'4,4.2 speed, his long running strides doesn't look like he's moving fast but he his rolling
Do u realize how valuable that football from the last regular season td scored by the 07 Patriots is? Its a Brady to Moss double record breaking 50 yard bomb to save a perfect season only to set up the greatest superbowl upset ever. Like holy shit where is that football?
Madden calling a Randy Moss game was an extraordinary event! Never really duplicated! His ‘98 game at Dallas (who snubbed him in 1st round of draft 8th pick*) was the most amazing performance I have ever seen! 3 catches 3 TD’s and over 180 yards! John Madden went crazy! * Another example of Jerry Jones big mistakes!
@@darrellsmith3602 So true. I watch his highlights from that Dallas game at least twice a year. Good reminder of how sweet that must have felt for Mr. Moss. F@#$k it. I am going to watch them again right now.
@@haroldbrown6630 Have some Turducken in celebration! I don’t know what kind of games are played in Heaven but I bet John Madden will be broadcasting Them!
Best ever. I really miss him. Did you know he was also a pool shark, did trick sots? I wonder if he's in RU-vid doing them. He made Sunday football special.
You are making an emotional statement and that is fine. But reality is, Moss is NOT the best, Jerry Rice was. And the 07 Pats were NOT the best team you ever saw. They didn’t win!! They scored 14 points in the Super Bowl! They lost because they couldn’t move the ball or score.
I remember this season cuz New England was crushin it.. esp the one @ 3:04 was inasne.. Dont know how he caught that.. and on 4 & 16 too.. I remember the using the Brady to Moss trick on following Madden game for some easy TDs
Yea it sucks we lost the sb that year but it was good because g-mens quarterback was never the same again brady got another ring and got another one yea this one probably hurt the most because we had the most insane widereciver in the leauge and we lost the sb but in good health and faith thank you g-men you basically unleashed a menace the next season it wasn't all smiles and jokes was it

I often wondered how The Patriots didn't get one SB win with Moss. 16-0, lost in the SB to The Giants. Twice. But Troy Brown, Will Patton, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Super Bowl Champs. Moss didn't get 1 ring. Not one. That to me is crazy.
