Wanted say thanks for posting my video...I am glad I saved myself the unnessacery fastener removals..great video...I am gonna buy a go pro and film all my tribulations tambien.
I kept the servo motor hooked up still which the motor will still be functioning but it isnt attached to any cables so the ECU thinks it's still working as it should. It's just a way to trick the system and save some money not having to buy the plug in.
Do you think I’ll have an issue if I leave those cables hanging instead of uninstalling them? I’m having trouble locating where they’re mounted to. Thank you for your video!
So the cables are attached to the servo motor which is attached by 2 bolts. I point to the bolts in the video as well as you see the servo motor removed as well. If you leave the cables attached, they will continue to move back and forth as the servo motor moves. I would highly recommend removing them
I left the cable hanging and just stuck on my slip on exhaust and the bike won’t idle. Do you think completely removing the value wires but leaving the servo motor plugged in will solve the issue?
I'm assuming you mean the cables to operate the butterfly valve inside the exhaust. I removed all cables and kept the servo motor still installed and connected to fool the system in thinking it was still doing its job. This makes it so that you don't get a check engine light. As far as your bike not idling, once those cables are removed, it shouldn't make a difference if they are still connected to the servo motor or not but it does clean the look up. You will want to have that servo motor still electectrically connected if you don't have an exup eliminator plug in. I've never had idle problems after installing a slip on exhaust on an R6 and this is my 3rd one so I'm not sure that your slip on is the reason
Are you referring at 4:46? I'm pointing to the two mounting bolts for the Servo motor. Go to 4:50 and you'll see the motor off. The chrome bracket that you see attached to it is the mounting bracket that is held on my two bolts.
