Hello, I need to find a 12v rem wire to power an external amp when I turn the vehicle on and off when I turn the vehicle off... the amp will be located in the rear cab most likely. Is there a wire I can tap to from that 8 pin seen under the center rear armrest/console/rear climate-radio controls??
My truck doesn't have the heated seats and does not have dual climate control. How do the climate control knobs handle the fan control and temp when the knobs are for dual control?
@@thegreatone576 I ended up just having Ford put in a stock APIM. Since everything I could find indicated you still needed a functional APIM to use these tablet based stereos.
have a 2017 Ford Expedition XLT, I am upgrading to a SYNC 3, 8 inch touch screen. I have concerns regarding the a/c connection compatibility. Do I have to change out the HVAC module or can I use the one I currently have installed ? I have already purchased a complete kit with bezel but don't want begin until I am certain that once I begin ,I will not run in to any snags. Also what is it from the video that I need to hard wire into an ignition power source?
Does they replace the car’s Bluetooth? Ours went out, refuses to connect to phones we’ve had paper for years, so was considering this upgrade but only if it replaces the car’s Bluetooth.
There could be multiple causes for why your Bluetooth connectivity is failing. Replacing the radio could or could not fix the issue. I would recommend sending it to our Repair department and have it diagnosed. It could be a simple fix. If it can't be fixed, it will ensure you purchase the equipment you need to get up and running. So this is something that is very unique and only required on the Expedition. There is something in the radio that is triggered on startup but let me see if I can get more info from our Ford tech and I will get back to you on this.
Typically if the APIM is responsible for issues, there will be a number of other issues to go with that besides the Bluetooth. It wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery. Here is a link to the Sync 3 manufacturers manual for you to reference. infotainment.com/cdn/uploads/399799320612_1.pdf
