Bill , I got the street version on my 2016 GT. I got it from you guys and installation was a breeze thanks to your vid. I love the sound and my neighbors will still love me too! This system has a great sound and will let everyone know that you have an aftermarket exhaust when you want them too.

Installed these today. Took 48 minutes using a lift and mostly air tools solo. Pretty awesome! Thanks CJPP

I have the stainless version of this exhaust and absolutely love it. Always been a Borla guy, and still am but for the money this system is amazing. The quality is top notch and the sound is perfect. LOUD enough when you want but not a thunder maker when you don't. Perfection. THANK YOU Bill!

For anyone out there stressing over getting the street or race version of this exhaust, I have both and this post may help someone out there. I was stressing over these two exhausts. I bought a 2016 Mustang GT that already had the race version on it. I did like the sound--sounded great, nice low rumble--but it was just too loud for a daily driver (especially when you gun it) and the drone on the highway got a bit much at times. I got to where I could keep it pretty mild by not going WOT and keeping the RPM down, but still it was just too loud for an old fart like me (even though, as I said, I loved the tone of the system). So I ordered MBRP's street system. After watching all the videos I could find, I was a little skeptical as to whether it would be that much quieter. And I wanted the same basic tone, just fewer DBs. Also, the videos tend to sound way raspier on the street version compared to the race version. I didn't want a raspy exhaust. As for the two systems comparing them side-by-side, the only difference is the muffler is 1 inch larger diameter on the street version. I just got the system yesterday via FedEx and installed it this morning. When I cold started it, I rolled my eyes--it sounded almost as loud as the race version. But the differences because obvious when the motor warmed, idled, and choked back. It is definitely noticeably quieter at idle, but still has that nice tone. Taking it out on the road, I was very impressed. Still has a great sound--maybe ever so slightly more raspy, but not that noticeable--that may mellow once the system gets broken in. Cruising down the highway, no noticeable drone at all (the race version has drone that is quite loud at times). Punching it, it does still get loud, but not nearly as loud as the race version. It definitely lets you know it is not the stock system, but doesn't get obnoxious at all. In fact it made me smile because it still has the sound of the race version, without being embarrassingly loud. Also, it is super easy to keep it quiet when you want. My neighbors will breath a sigh of relief. Overall, I LOVE the street version so far after a long day of driving it. It's just about perfect in tone and volume for me except maybe on cold start--but that only lasts a few seconds anyway in the warm weather. I actually bought the small mid mufflers that MBRP makes and I was going to weld them into the mid-pipe if the system was still too loud, but I don't think there is any need--I'm happy with it. I'll just put those mufflers on the shelf with my old race version system and use them for something else. I'll repost if anything significantly changes as they get broken in. But as it stands now... PERFECT. Love it.

Installed my 3" MBRP stainless cat back exhaust from CJ's Pony Parts on my '16 GT PP last week. I live close by so I picked it up myself, they had it in stock, old exhaust off, new exhaust on. If you follow their directions in the video, you can't go wrong. I LOVE the way this thing sounds, not too loud, but definitely louder than stock. Sounds BAD A** and weighs a little less, too.

Just picked up the MBRP SS Street kit for my 2017 GT. Installed in a little over 2 hours. So easy. Hardest part was finding a place to put my stock exhaust. I'll give the sound a B, but do prefer it over the very quiet stock system. But can't say enough about how this kit was put together.

I can't decide between the stainless street version or going with the Magnaflow competition axle back. Cost is similar, these being a full cat back versus the axle back with the Magnaflow. I like how the tips are adjustable with this system to get that perfect look.

Ok now i just watched this and the same video for the race version. Other than volume the race actually sounds deeper and less raspy. Or is that just from different cameras/mics?

Hi, I have the Roush Axle backs on my 16 GTPP and I am not satisfied with the fit and finish of them and am considering selling them to buy this system instead. How do they compare sound wise? I like the sound of the Roush axle backs and would not want to go much louder than those but a little louder would be nice. Thanks!

I have a set of Stainless Works headers that are fitted to the stock exhaust now. Will the MBRP catback fit these headers? I love the raspy MBRP sound. Thanks for all the how-to and test videos, I wish I looked for them sooner.

A warning to individuals like myself who have a bit of OCD in terms alignment: Unless you spend hours fiddling with the pipes, it's not going to be perfect.

My catback keeps loosening up where the 2 clamps meet the h pipe anybody else experiencing this?

Why does the street series sound more raspy than the race series?

This or the borla s type I have a hard decision ahead of me I love them but they rasp to much I wish the stypes had a h pipe 😩

Be advised, folks ... the stock exhaust on my Mustang GT was all one piece, not the multiple pieces shown in the videos here. Also, the allen key needed for Street is 6mm, not 8mm. I noticed the removal parts of the video were the same between the Race and Street versions. Maybe the Street uses smaller allen bolts? At any rate, just keep all this in mind if you're doing this in your garage on jack stands. The install took me less than 90 minutes. The hardest part was getting the tips to slip onto the pipes; I got the black coated system, which might have been just enough to cause the fit to be REALLY tight and need some "encouragement" with a padded "helper" to avoid damaging the coating. Otherwise, this is an awesome exhaust; the video sound just doesn't do it justice!!!! EDIT: It just occurred to me that maybe the coating on the allen bolts caused a difference in size as well? Hmmm ... the 6mm I used was a snug fit, not a bit of slop.

For the money I'm really thinking about this system! Are these mufflers louvered or perforated on the inside? On a side note seems like when I hear exhaust videos with this CJ pony car it has a dead spot when revving it from idle...electronic throttle body delay???

Damn, this is pretty loud. If this is the street exhaust the race version with headers and a downpipe must be enough to wake up the dead.

So I just installed this today and LOVE the sound. Got an awesome deal from a friend on it too. Big question: We installed the h pipe upside down with the flat parts facing up on accident. Is there any big reason for me to worry about it? I know that it may be less protected as it is but I wouldn't be able to switch it for at least a week.

So out of curiosity what is the difference between the aluminized and stainless steel. Because I want to do a full black out on my car so I want the black but I don't want something that's a poor material. So I'm curious.

Hey Bill, being how this system looks incredibly less restrictive than the stock exhaust, do you have any idea how much HP and torque gain is achieved with this install.

Not a fan of Mustang's, but that does sound great.

Mine gives off an insane amount of rasp at WOT over 3k. Is this what anyone else is experiencing? Thinking of swithching to the SOLO Performance Mach Thunder Catback. It's tough with these videos since it all depends on recording devices and outside noise level etc..

Any headers that would work and sound great with these?
