I’m about 5’11 and my wheel sits fully extended. My seat is a little reclined due to my body shape. For anyone in my driving position position; this mounting spot sucks. My right hand completely blocks the screen so it’s not possible to monitor the readings without lifting my right hand from the wheel.
Just did it on the 2018 wrx premium.. there is a screw behind it on the top left corner if you are looking at it from the drivers seat. It was a bitch.
Thanks for this video. I am installing it exactly like this. Do you think I could take a hammer and a screwdriver and just bang that fake button out without having to take off the panel?
So my accessport is arriving tomorrow, along with my downpipe and definitely going to use this location. How's the visibility of being able to monitor the screen and what not?
Little blank is for Blind Spot Detection and whatever. Which only comes with the CVT. I don't like the blanks, but cool you were able to utilize the space!
I had mine mounted the same way but the summer heat kept melting the 3m. I now have the a-piller mount and put the wire threw the panel on the side of the dash. Only 6" of Wire shows if even.
Visibility is great no problems and I'm 6'3 if u live in hotter weather like I am in Florida, I would grab clear 3m from Walmart instead of the one Cobb gives you to stay mounted to the dash. If u don't have a tuner hit up phattbotti tuning they are the best.
lmike6453 you don't just the ecu cable that comes with it. To have it cycle with your ignition go into the setting on the access port on turn the auto on off feature on.
Stephen McMahon Dang, you guys did it the hard way! all I did was use a round file to file a small hole in the top left side of the fuse box cover. it took like 2 minutes and I didn't have to take anything apart. And as a bonus there's not a big hole in where the wire comes out and it's easy to access because the fuse cover opens😄
@@TylerDeBoy Naw, it's just a small notch at the top the size of the cable. The door still works/looks fine when the cable isn't there, but I never take my access port out of my car so the cut out is always filled and completely un-noticeable.
