You should have welded on some extra pipe! I am sure you figured that out afterwards! But good on you doing the work yourself... you live and learn. By the way, we have matching bikes & dogs!
Got the same exhaust on my 2015 GSX-R 750, sounds sick but it's so loud lol. Got a European trip booked for April and there's no way I'm taking this can with me. Changing to an M4. Nice job on the video though. :D
I got the same exhaust but chrome if u have a packtalk u wood not be able to talk to your friends because the exhaust is to loud u can listen to music but It won’t be to loud thinking about getting a new exhaust and u don’t need a ECU flash 💯💯💯💯
Drop system next time to show full view of exhaust from headers to back. Some people have no idea of what the full system looks like. 👍🏼 it’s easier to do as well and ya get a perfect job to display. Did my Z and just dropped all of it. Only thing is have the new header gaskets ordered n delivered beforehand. This way iffff ya need to replace em this is the time. Since it will be off bike fully also clean up around the headers a bit. You would be surprised at how many brand new bikes have hot spots or little leaks. It’s a$10-$15 cost for 2-4 gaskets. My cat is actually in the bike behind the o2. 6” thick section right after the collector. Easy job but, the box before slip on is a primary exhaust brick 🧱. Delete it all 👍🏼. Wanted to do sawzall as well but, did a grinder with metal cut blade 4-1/2”. Did you or are you going to tune?
Did u have to dyno it or install a power commander or a servo buddy with that install or no bc it’s not a full system.... I’m buying a voodoo and wanted to know if i need to or not.. or if it runs just fine without adding anything ?
dalia mendoza thanks. They're from a company called Xtreme bike works. They're nearly the same as frame sliders as far as cost goes and offer way better protection in my opinion
Hey bro, just came across this vid because I’ve been looking for good reviews for this exhaust. I was just wondering if it comes with the clamp or do you have to buy one separate
If you're going for performance then a full exhaust system with aftermarket headers is the way to go. But that will run you 800-1k for a decent brand. Cutting off the cat is a cheaper way to get better exhaust flow. The engine won't get louder but the exhaust will get much louder.
Mine came with the exhaust. I would contact voodoo directly if possible. If not wouldn't been to hard to drill a couple holes in a piece of metal and fab your own.
Yeah higher rpms is when it pops !! if I'm actually following the street speed limit it doesn't but if I'm out hear fucken shit up it pops blue flames I love it though just don't wanna harm the engine
I've had the pipe on for a few months. I just trimmed up the fiber glass with a razor blade. Very minimal exhaust leak. Less than if you were blowing out a candle. Doesn't seem to effect the flow at all or the performance. End result is a few more horses and a few more torques. Haven't had it dyno'd but you can tell by riding it that it breaths better.
Gaming Made Simple yea you're not going to get the same flow from a slip over cuz of the turbulence. But most people don't have 800-1k to drop on an exhaust. Also, idk if you've heard one that's been tuned and has a race filter, but it makes a huge difference in sound quality. You can just hear that the engine is running healthy. I've still been lagging on putting up an exhaust video up, but man it sounds even more epic about 8k rpm, moto gp status. What's on yours?
David Blatz I have an arrow steel race header and racefit titanium combo/ "full system" with a flash tune and BMC race filter, I love it. The shortened look helps the L1+ gsxr tail since I feel a full oem system just looks too damn long. I took off the racefit can last week for shits and it was just obnoxiously loud and sounded deafening. I guess for those who are into that horrendous sound and want to rev all day/do burnouts, more power to them, lol. To me, just plain annonying. Sort of like those busa idiots and their header dump, lol. I think a midpipe and a baffled slip-on, paired with a tune, aka "full system" is the only way to obtain a clean and crisp full RPM range sound profile.
Gaming Made Simple haha I don't do burnouts or rev all day but I do like a loud azz bike. And that's what I got by chopping the cat. I get you though, some prefer a refined note that won't blow your ears off. And yea, the stock exhaust is massive and fugly, also why I went with the sleek voodoo. You got any vids of the bike?
David Blatz Sadly I don't and it's 10F here so I wont be able to until it starts to warm up. Bike has been put down for storage currently. Best believe when it warms I got you. A L3 1000 has the same setup and its nice. RU-vid it
You don't have to have one, but it does make the bike run better. I got my ECU reflashed for about 100 bucks if you don't want to spend a gang of money on a fuel/ignition controller. It's worth it.
yea cause i dont wanna choke on fumes,ok cool ill take mine off..whats next on your gixxer? carrozzeria rims? stops better and looks better , takes off few pounds.but they are over 2 grand
Not this type. The voodoo type in this video replaces The cat with the "mid pipe". I do believe voodoo makes a tip identical in look but shorter so it just goes on the cat as a tip.
Depends on your taste. I think it was the perfect balance of loud that still maintained a quality sound. I would do it again today without hesitation. My riding buddies said it was too loud 😆
D Bz I rode around with no muffler for 15 minutes before I turned around and put it back on. It was wayyy to loud. I want loud but not straight pipe loud.
@@i_read_bad_reviews if you're looking for a sleek look with moderate loudness and a good sound the M4 shortty pipe is prob just what you're looking for. I had one on b 4 the voodoo and it wasn't quite loud enough for my taste, so prob perfect for you
D B a lot of people in the world are looking for tho answer. A lot of people are saying you have to have it flashed or a pc. And they are saying you get the fi light. But you didn’t mess with the valve. Thus not causing a fi light, right? You cut behind the valve leavin the valve In working order. Also by leaving the valve, you had enough back pressure to safely run the bike with our a tune. People need to know this.
