The 2015 Het Nieuwsblad was Etixx-Quick Step's to lose. This first classic of the year was from February 28th, 2015. Bicyclinghub.com has a massive selection of cycling jerseys www.bicyclinghu... and cycling shorts www.bicyclinghu...
Today Ian Stannard announced his retirement due to rheumatoid arthritis. My first reaction - to watch this video again. Thanks for the memories Ian (and the three Quickstep riders :-) )
I've no idea what language they are speaking, but I do understand these statements that perfectly describe Ian Stannard: "Stannard ist super stacked" "Vot um bear ist de Stannard" "Stannard pusht de hefty spool onna de wheel" Quickstep did lose it, but I feel sorry for them having to chase down Stannard when he goes - he really knows how to push the hefty spool on the wheel!
Terpstra seems to be the strongest Quickstep rider in the front group. But Boonen wanted to win this race really bad. He seems to instruct Vandenberg to chase Terpstra at 19:48. If they still had a chance, they definitely ruin it for themselves there. Stannard is super stacked - Stannard is supersterk (Stannard is superstrong) Vot um bear ist de Stannard - Wat een beer is die Stannard (Stannard seems to be strong like bear) Hefty spool onna de wheel - Heeft ie smoelen getrokken aan de wielen? - (Did he pretend to be tired while he followed the rest?)
Sometimes you don't have to be the smartest rider to win. Sometimes, boneheaded racing helps you win. At 19:41, Terpstra (#35) makes the right move, but at 19:46 Vandenbergh (#38) makes a blundering move, dragging Stannard with him to his own teammate yet going hard enough so that Boonen (#31) doesn't have enough time to recover from the attack Boonen made at 18:19.
I finallу found working tооl. Wоrk рerfеctlу withоut аnyуy prоblems twitter.com/6a39e11ca41c0fd9b/status/779266899116892164?zCQRl=dff168c3-04dc-4553-a559-7575b378e345 2015 Het Nieuwsblаd Bikе Raaaсe Lаst 20KMM
How to lose and how to win. Stannard played an obvious game (showing power when necessary eg in his attacks) as well as a subtle one (planting seeds of doubt within the 'Trio of Leos' lol). That's racing guile right there! He knew what they were thinking and hedged his bets.
So was the fact Stybar (Quickstep) did not contest the sprint for 5th a professional courtesy, since he sat an VanMarke and GVA in the final kilometers?
geoff N One of the commenters (José De Cauwer) asked the same question. Michel Wuyts replies: "uncertainty". Uncertainty about his sprinting capabilities, and because Terpstra usually has a habit of arriving alone.
Just shows you when there is too many chiefs in a cycle team. Boonen should have stayed back behind Stannard and waited for the sprint and Terpstra should have attacked 3-5kms from the finish. That way Stannards legs would've been shot going into the sprint or Terpstra would've gone solo
1 brave man vs 3, qs think, they creat attack trap for yogi, but bonnen&co fall in own trap after stannard unbelievable counterattack, 190cm83kg of pure power💪💪
One pet hate of mine is when people write the video description in a different language to that of the commentary! So annoying Otherwise i really enjoyed the video though thanks
