these reviewers always forget to turn on the sports mode on the corolla which explains why they think Civic's accelerator is much more responsive. Corolla's sports mode is superb and the shift points are really sharp!

Having owned both brands in the past I'd always pick the Toyota over the Honda. In this case it's even easier since the Corolla looks so sexy. Besides, here where I live Toyotas hold their value much better.
Hi Laura new subscriber here! You can't really go wrong with either IMO. Similarly powered drivetrains and interior room and of course, the reliability of both. Yes we carry both of these cars at my work. (Hertz rental car) and the corolla is a very slow vehicle. The Honda civic does have more pep. Good video Laura! Once again. Any idea when the 2016 Si's are coming out?
No matter how good the corolla looks, it still fails the side car crash test at 40 mph, the car gets total demolish, The civic pass that crash test. Winner here is the civic. Safety
+kevin p But yes, you're right. For example, she says they "can't really hear each other" on the Corolla's Bluetooth. I have a '15 Corolla and people have said I sound better on its Bluetooth than when I'm just holding my phone to my ear.
one point i didnt see covered was the interior size comparison.... one selling point for the corolla is the larger backseat on the redesign. Much better for hauling the whole family on the weekends...
Jennifer Frame Larger in legroom 36.2 Honda 41.4 Toyota. They are tied for head room at 37.1", Honda has more hip room 51.4 to 43.9. So yes looking at legroom and overall the Corolla has more volume mostly because the car is nearly 3 inches longer. For a family the Camry or Accord may be more suitable. The Corolla is for young teen girls and ppl who can't afford a high monthly payment on a better car.. and it's mainly for rental car purposes. I unfortunately had to use one as a rental for 4 days in 2012... Worst car ever. I've never liked them.. I like cars with Power.. this was a feather.

I've personally driven these cars and I do not like the Corolla. The civic is way ahead of the Corolla. It rides better, it is more quiet, and has a better look to me. The interior is better looking to me and it rides better. Don't get me wrong the Corolla is a good choice but really can't eat the civic. I plan to buy a civic for college because I love it do much. Love your videos btw.

CVT transmission is the only thing that is stopping me from buying any of these cars. I test drove the corolla. It is pretty smooth in the city, but once I drove over 50 mph, I started feeling that the engine is going to break a part. When I asked the dealer, the answer was because of the "New Technology". Please provide us with more info about the CVT transmission!!

Hi Honda Laura I like your objective reviews when you do your comparisons. question I have is do notice a difference in the smoothness of the 2016 and 2015 Civic.
First, you should made the comparison with a Corrolla Eco Plus, given that is a better match (Eco Mode in Corrolla vs ECON Button in Civic). Also, The Eco Plus has a 140HP vs. Civic with143HP. Eco Plus gives you up to 42 MPG Highway vs Civic with 39 Highway. BTW, DIgital Speedometer could be access, pressing the DISPLAY button in the steering wheel while running. Finally, whistling during Corolla ride, just kill all expectation about a unbiased review. You should do your homework with Eco Plus model. I shoulda known from beginning, starting with your name. However, I just watched the review because of your skirt... One dislike vote, because the wind did not blow enough.
I see that the Civic and the Corola are looking a bit the same. Here in Europe there is more difference between the Civic and the Toyota Auris. Is a huge competion going on.
I have the 2014 model of this car and love it! When I drove the Toyota Corolla I really didn't like it. I noticed more interior and engine noise in the Toyota and the CVT transmission in the Honda does not drone as much. While the two tier dash design on the Honda does appear a bit like a video game, it is very clearly visible and helps me keep my eyes on the road.
As a previous Corolla owner. I would have to give my props to Corolla. I had a 2008 Corolla S with everything. Spoilers, Body Kit, Rims, Sunroof, etc and that car was a beauty. The car was a light blue; very rare to see. I would see lots of corolla and the colors would be black, red, silver, gold, etc but light blue would be rare to see. especially the S model. I regret losing it and fucked up. Now, I am a proud owner of a BMW 3 series but I'll still love the Corolla vs Civic these days only because Civic's style is just meh in the end. They are lacking compare to Toyota's style. In the end.. I don't like how the Camry and Corolla are looking the same. :( Civic hasn't revamp their style till they announced the 2016...but the whole front looks almost like an accord and the back is just no comments. i liked digital speedometer TBH but the camera on the back or the reverse camera i dont care , i can park reverse like a boss just use side mirros and instinct
I honestly thik that these two cars are both great, reliable and comfortable, however, the civic offers a better deal as to price and equipment, Yet on a better trim car level like, accord vs camry, the camry is much better than the accord. But great video Laura.
Okay.. So here is how it REALLY is.. Number 1 this is coming from a person who does sales at Germain Toyota RIGHT next door to Honda here in Sarasota FL . I personally drive a 13 CIVIC SI! so this is a bias review . Long story short the Civic is a better looking car . BUT the Corolla is way more reliable. Plus Toyota offers 2 years of toyoguard which Honda DOES NOT . There are 19% more Toyota dealerships then Honda which makes it easy to get to if needed for service. ( if you break down insurance gives you a free tow to your nearest dealership within 7 miles ) plus she said the Honda stops better then the Corolla? No.. The Corolla has a stopping distance from 60-0mph of 118 ft compare to 123ft with the civic . Those 5 feet could be the difference between life and death. Don't let me get started on the safety of the Corolla either lol. One of the safest cars in the world. Plus the Corolla S ( vehicle that is compared to the civic EX in the video ) Running out of characters* lol
i drive Honda Accord and its better than Toyota camery and this will be the same in this case, Honda only more expensive than Toyota but its much more better than Toyota

no doubt about Honda cars, I had a full modified esi and it still in excellent drving xperience evnthough its old. Honda cars has better mileage, quality and durability, this cars lasts longer.. I lived with Honda and still gotta own another Honda vehicles
Honda has better engine performance no doubt with that but i guess that when price differential strikes id go for corolla more reliable parts and more cheaper to maintain. 🙂
as you said it is going to be: poor Japanes econo boxes that gives the owner nothing else then reliability and resale value, or a German car that cost exactly the same money (skoda octavia here in Europe witch you in the USA doesn't have) that drives like a baby Mercedes C class, but costs exactly like those 2 you just reviewed. go to the web and see European reviews of the Octavia and learn what a car should look and feel like, in therm of substance and performance. octavia is a stretched Gold,in short: Golf Sedan. yes, it probably isn't as reliable probably (turbo engine and Dual clutch transmission) but it will give you a thrill you only can get on a BMW or ford - ride and handling, and will show you how plastics and fabrics should look and feel in your hands. so you buy a new car and replace it after 2-3 years, reliability will be any how the problem of the future owner/owners. after owning corolas onr after another, and switching to the octavia, one cannot look back an more. the pctavia is even roomier then a camry (have taken my measurement toll to be shocked my self) with its 590 liter boot space (about 21 cubic foot).
