How dumb some guys are ! :P "In how many days i can get duke 390" WTF!! ask your local dealer or pay a visit to the showroom if you're that much addicted to buy ! Nikhil is not a KTM dealer :P
Yes I understand it should be 2015 model but I do not want dealers old stock that they claim is 2015 one with improvements I would just like to know how to tell if it has all the new features on.
do u think duke 390 2015 will be good as a first bike? not too strong powerful.. I was thinking about 125cc but no .. too small mate for kids I am 30 yrs old lol.. what do u think mate
nice video buddy...does the rear suspension addon cover that u used in old duke burn out due to temp of the cata while driving...??.if not ny idea where i can buy it (not d nylon one)??.
Nice comparison Mumbiker Nikhil. Many had heard of the changes and you made us see them too. Great work bro !! :) btw I have an Out of Topic question for you. Jus curious from where did you pick up the monoshock protector ( the one which you have used to cover your bike's monoshocks ). I did search it on the net but couldn't find any. Planning to buy one for my bike too. Any info abt that would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!! :)
Hey Nikhil, i am thinking about getting myself a rc 390 but i am worried about 2 things, 1st one is engine heating problem and as i am in marketing it would become a real headache for me bcoz i ride 60 to 70 km daily in delhi's bumper to bumper traffic. 2nd thing i want to ask you is does ktm products have a good lifespan and quality. bcoz i want my bike to last for atleast 4 year without any engine problems.
You are awesome but let me explain you what slipper clutch is vs normal clutch. Normal C: Consider you are in track, and you are revving high gears and suddenly a corner comes and you gear down massively. At times there is possibility that the clutch may get engage and the wheel may get locked. So here if the wheel gets locked then we need to manually press the clutch bar and disengage the clutch and get the wheel back in motion. Slipper clutch: Here as above, when the wheel gets locked the sensors or whatever sends message to the transmission to disengage the clutch and it automatically disengages the clutch and wheel comes back in motion automatically and we dont need to press Clutch manually. Disadvantages. Now consider your bikes battery is down..what will you do? You would call a friend and tell 'A bhai dahakka maar na please". Now you would put the bike in gear and tell your friejd to push...now here you would release the clutch bar...what happens is when u release the clutch bar the clucth in transmisson gets engaged and the spark starts and the bike turns ON. Now this was above normal clutch...the disadvantages of slipper clucth is... When the bikes battery is down u cant start it by pushing. Bcuz when u push it and release the clutch hadle bar the clutch will not engage as the slipper clutch would send messsge to transmission to disengage the clutch and due to the bike will not start. This is all about Slipper clutch VS normal clutch. While on city or hughway i wud prefer normal clutch
Hi Nikhil. is it a good time to buy the 2015 390 as it is almost at the end of the year.. are we expecting new release soon? i can't really wait to have this bike!.. TIA
nice video bro - thanks and I had a couple of questions more1. Is the play on the throttle which was quite high earlier, fixed? I know the throttle had a play at neutral gear without accelerating at all. 2. What about the oil leak problem in front shock - oil seal cap not holding the shock oil?3. Any hazard lights on the bike for group rides?4. Alloy wheels cracking on bad roads - almost every KTM owner swears that the quality of the alloys could have been better.5. Low profile tyres : Is there a plan to change this to accommodate city driving?
+Karthik Gn yes throttle is fixed, oil leak was never a prob specially with ktm duke /rc , it can hapen wid any bike. my duke is from front slot and i havnt faced any oil leak. but i hav heard its better now, no hazard lights , however u can always installed for 2k, older duke has race fitted lyte alloys, not its little heavier and stronger, but cause of the stiffness of the suspension and low tire pressure can crack the alloys if ridden fast over bad roads. but its better than b4, low profile tires are expensive cause for a bikg this powerfull u need this kind of tires, however u can always change it to cheaper tires....hope i hav answered ur question. do like my page mumbiker nikhil on fb :)
khan azam if ur talkin abt mumbai city then duke is slighly better , however 390 is not made for city like mumbai still compare to rc the duke is better and for highway, both duke and rc are good.
Mumbiker Nikhil loves your videos brother. really appreciate giving knowledge. got a question! can i use motul 300v instead of company recommend motul 7100 ? can it make my duke200 more smooth or etc etc
Hy Nikhil .. I'm one of our subscriber ... I watch your videos and they are amazing ... watching you riding ... motivates me to ride ... thought I'm still 16 , turn up 17 this May .. I will have a bike on my 18th birthday hope soo 😇😄 I just wanna ask which bike would you recommend me as if I will be a beginner .... there will be no budget issues ... waiting for your reply ..
depends bro , rc is more style and track oriented bike and duke is overall... better go for duke , however if u want to showw of more and learn the art of cornering then RC
Hi apart from the above said difference i think the spark plug used in 2015 duke 390 is different from old one for better combustion, i.e 1mm in 2015 as compared to old one which is .8 i guess not so sure, correct me if i am wrong
Bhai, I'm planning to use the bike to commute to work, which will be in heavy traffic. Should I buy it? How bad is the heating issue in the 2015 model? Is it a deal-breaker?
Hey nikhil I have KTM duke 200 2015 not even one month old I have to ask I there is any chance to fit an abs system on duke 200 as the Metre is the same and the international version have them I am from Mumbai so if u know anyone who does it kindly let me know And thanks for this channel I bought a bike one reason was your videos if u r riding in Mumbai just let me know big fan :) Nauman Tisekar
Mumbiker Nikhil yup done that. Still have the bike lunging forward every time.. I have tried everything and idk why I'm not getting it.. Certain times the transition is butter smooth but that's quite rare..
Mumbiker Nikhil never mind. I'm getting it right now. My technique was wrong. I used my toes to clutchless upshift and that made it jump. Now I'm using the upper part of my foot near the ankle to upshift and that works.
hey nikhil, thanks for such a detailed head to head comparison, however i have some serious questions , 1. i am planning to buy a ktm 390 in this month but i am real confused as to which one shall i buy, RC390 or duke390, i need a bike that can do touring around 1000kms (once in 6 months), track riding as well as a bike that cruises well in the city and on the highway at constant speeds. and the big deal is that i would buy the one that powerdrift suggests me, this much confused i am coz i love both these bikes a lot and have been saving funds to get one since a long long time. please suggest me a wise choice. (i am avg built 5'8") 2. Also are the new changes in 2015 390duke implied exactly the same on 2015 RC390 as well ? please help me with these 2 Q's .
oil leak can happ in any bike. and the heating is nt a prob, bike with big piston heats up a lot, seach for ktm r duke rc390 heating problem. i hav explained everything
Addition of slipper clutch has made a world of difference, hasn't it!? When i test rode a 2013 duke 390, my wrist ached a lot in traffic. But, would you prefer the duke with a slipper clutch or without a slipper clutch? Although there is a safety aspect of it, doest it affect engine braking? Coz i lyk the boxer style of riding, where we ourselves try to match the engine rpm and wheel rotation :) even though we wont be precise all the time. Whats your opinion on this?
Hi nikhil I currently own pulsar 220 and its 5 years old now. planning to change it to KTM 390..I see many adds of old KTM 390s for 1.4 lacs. As you said new one costs 2.2..is it really worth buying a new one for extra cost of 60k or old ones are OK?
i am planning on buying duke 390 2015 but i have to drop my mother to market & relatives place, so what do u suggest in this case? sue to this sole reason i was thinking to opt for pulsar rs200 ur suggestion will help me to take the final verdict
PB Pravin for a pillion its not suggestd to buy a duke 390, but if ur gona drop ur mom nearby , like 5-10 km distance then duke 390 is good. however Rs200 is much of a all purpose bike
Mumbiker Nikhil once in a week i have to drop her n pick her to thane its 60 km journey from my house so i think i must buy pulsar RS200 thanks for your suggestion
Nikhil plz create a comparision video of duke 390 and cbr250r.....coz both can hit 160kmph...and duke hav the heating prblm..but the cbr doesn't hav...!!! My bro suggested me to buy cbr250r...
Ktm 390 will be more fun n will be the headturner 250r cbr is bit comman now a days n dnt have the power it hav only 26 than of dukes massive 44 bhp Both will hits 160 duke can more 178 asso but displacement are higher on duke so duke 390 will be stress free on hugherspeeds
