In this video we are looking at a 11.6-inch Apple MacBook Air model from 2015 or model identifier MacBook Air 7,1.
It is the last MacBook Air from this generation with this design before 3rd gen Retina. And in the next gen Apple didn't have a 11-inch Air, just a 13.3 one.
The specs of our little hero here are Intel Core i5-5250U CPU with Intel HD Graphics 6000, 4GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. The software is Monterey.
The CPU is with two cores and four threads. It is using Broadwell microarchitecture which is the 14 nanometer die shrink of Intel's previous Haswell microarchitecture. The base frequency is 1.6 GHz with boost to 2.7. The integrated GPU is HD 6000, which is... just an integrated graphics.

I must admit, I like this form factor....had an older one back in 2012 or so.......recently bought this a a secondary computer, 2015 11" MBA. Love the keyboard, more so than my daily driver (2019 MBP - which is an outstanding computer). This one just looks so sharp and you do not see it out there all that often. so yes, this PC still holds up today...a testament to the build quality of Apple.

I've got one of these. i7 2.2Ghz, 8GB ram and now a 2TB SSD. I use it everyday as it means I can do my job wherever I am. I won't be changing it until I'm absolutely forced.

@@boywndr619 the i7 config was made-to-order IIRC, while you can add the 2TB SSD yourself.

I love my 11 inch ipad, Im a college teacher and the mac's small weight, size and long lasting battery is perfect for carrying around.

I have a 2015 macbook air with a pretty sad dual core i5. Since Apple no longer supports this, I just put Windows 10 on it to use it for web browsing and a security camera server. It actually feels pretty 'snappy'. I will say will be our last Mac computer since Apple claims to be a 'green' company but discontinues support after 5-7 years to force consumers to buy the latest and greatest. I am aware there are 'workarounds' to put the latest Mac OS on it and from what I've seen, older Intel based Macs run JUST FINE with it. There is no other reason for Apple not supporting this hardware, other than greed.

@@hhy2kI've now reutilized it and installed 'SpaceDesk' so I have another monitor for work. works great! btw, I'd love to know how you'd get Win 11 on this. I'm 100% sure it doesn't have TPM 2.0

the specifications with you write is not for 2023 MBA 2015 11 inch has a version of 8 gb ram, 2.2 ghz i7 up to 3.2 ghz with turboboost processor and a 512 gb ssd is the one is able to run with 2023 computers

Agreed. My unit is this spec, though I swapped in a 1T SSD. It shows its age in some things, but it is a great machine and can still surprise people with what it can do.

@@t1maone just look at the specsheet. first, its macos, second, the hardware is laptop hardware from 8 years ago. would any of this work even on a thinkpad from that era? probably not. so no chance.

Maybe English it’s not his native language and he’s wary of speaking with an accent. The content is good (imo) but I concur with the sentiment about fake voiceovers. One of my favorite tech channels, Cat and Andrew, is hosted by a guy with a very heavy accent, he even mispronounces some words, yet none of that matters to his audience, as his content is top-notch within his niche.
