2014+ (2015) Mazda 3s 2.5 Corksport vs Stock Exhaust Comparison Video In this video I compar the stock axleback exhaust with the Corksport Axleback in a few scenarios such as cold start, idle, revving, fly by, and in car acceleration.
I found a full Corksport catback system on eBay for $500 and went with that. Just about brand new and sounds and looks awesome. Family complains about the cold start in the morning but that only lasts a few seconds. Glad I chose Corksport
@@MarkJohnson-un6ug it will be loud for the maybe 10 seconds the car turns on that's it. It sounds great forget the neighbors they will get over it mine did 😁
I don't think it's too loud, it can drone a little on a cold startup but I've never had any complaints, and I live in a townhouse with neighbors literally attached to my house lol
I actually ended up picking up a Borla! For dirt cheap, it ALSO sounds kick ass and is one of my favorite experiences with an aftermarket exhaust. Only thing was sometimes it was more droney than i liked right at 2500-3000 rpm. I got a bimmer now
It does drone a bit on cold starts for about 30 seconds, and around ~2000 rpm. This is most noticeable around 40-50 mph in 6th. At first it bothered me a bit but now it's not so bad now that I'm use to it.
Thanks for he video man! Lots of effort doing so much before and after to compare. Too bad it drones around 60 mph, it's the only reason I took mine off of my M6 and went back to stock for a quieter ride.
Hey nice vid, Im gonna get a corksport exhaust as well for my 2015 Mazda 6 sport. It will sound the same as your car right? Everything on my car is stock until i get the corksport exhaust.
Yep just the axleback. Didn’t feel like dealing with the more difficult install and wanted to see how it sounded with the axleback first with the thought that if I wanted to go to the catback in the future, I could order that portion of the pipe. Years later I’m still happy with the axleback!
I'm wondering why your set up is so quiet? I have the exact same cat back and mine is much louder. I'm wondering why that is? Wish I could tag you a vid of my cold start. Did you also run into the issue of the Corksport missing a hanger?
Nope, never heard of the kissing hanger issue. The exhaust is still holding up great even through all the salt on the roads during central New York winters. As for the volume, my exhaust system is an axleback, if you have a catback it would be louder. Did your catback also involve removing the 2nd catalytic converter?
I feel your pain with the salt issue I'm in Ontario Canada and the salt is an issue.. but holding up. the missing hanger is a manufacturer error there's only 4 when there should be five. My starter just died at 250,000 KMS which is 141,242miles tow set for after the 2ft snow fall were getting tomorrow. I'll post when we're back up and running. I highly recommend getting an Injen xpedal throttle response. worth every bit of the $250 I spent. Honestly wouldn't have put on the CAI and the exhaust it I had installed this first.
This car "mine" is a 2.5, the exhaust should fit a 2.0 as well! The main difference is that the cat back will replace the midpipe and get rid of the 2nd catalytic converter. This may or may not be legal, but if you would be caught is debatable "I'm not encouraging or recommending it though without checking your local laws!" The cat back will be a bit more difficult to install, but should free up a couple more HP and sound louder. Thanks!

Got a tune on my 2.0 from OV and it was worth it with the exhaust and intake, but im looking at trading it up to a sGT soon. I plan to do the other mods too if I end up with the new one. Corksport rocks.

The exhaust itself was about $550 after shipping, the install was very easy for the most part "did it myself." I didn't even need to jack the car up. The full catback system would be more difficult to install and would definitely require a jack and some stands, or preferably, a lift.
How easy was it without a lift? I'd like to put this on my '17, and I'd rather just install it at home if I can. I have access to a shop, but it's not super convenient.
I found a really great deal on a 2018 sedan that I'm considering, even though I like the hatchback's tail end more... There's a shop called MV TUNING in Russia that sells a rear diffuser for the sedan with exhaust tip holes that would greatly improve the looks.
Indeed it would! One thing I wanted to do to my car in the past but couldn't find a rear diffuser from a good company a couple of years ago. If you can grab it go for it!
@Brad Holman Well, I bailed on the Mazda3 and picked up a 2014 Q60 for $2000 less. The Nissan Altima is front wheel drive, G37 and Q60 are based on the 370Z. After losing my FX35 in an accident, I couldn't refuse another opportunity with a great V6 with 330HP. My ex drove a 2016 Mazda3 that I really liked but the rubbery dash outgassed and the clear coat was very thin. I think the new Mazda3's fixed those issues and has a better front end... but the hatch back is bulbous, like an SUV.
