Do you need a tune if going with Recirc? Stock setup is already Recirc so in theory there is not difference but wanted to double check before I install. Also, what would be the benefit or added gain of going with Recirc and not VTA?
When installing the T adapter for the recirc portion, there is a ear clamp that once removed these are one and done for others trying this install. You’ll need additional clamps then the 2 provided by HKS. I used the Boomba install video to remove the inlet and BOV and used your video to install the HKS. thanks for all your help in the video!
Paoerhouse WRX seems like a lot of work for no difference on stock tune. What other parts can you throw on to bring out the flutter sound without VTA? Besides intake.
@@popepourri7776 It really wasn't that much work. But to be honest...without VTA, it's going to be pretty muffled. I did notice that when I swapped to a CF hood, the sound did get much louder. Strongly suggest going with a speed density tune and run at VTA if you're looking for more of the sound.
Paoerhouse WRX taking off stuff is more work than installing but still took some time. is the speed density tune just for compensate for the BOV venting? Is there a BOV delete kit for the FA like how they block off on the STI intercooler? Seems like a lot of money to buy an HKS and then get an SD tune instead of just deleting the BOV altogether.
The hose that you recirculate into, is that the same hose that comes from the PCV and feeds back into the turbo inlet? I installed this on my 2020 WRX, second guessed it because the instructions that came with it were horrible, ran it for a day and went back to stock because I was afraid I recirculated into the wrong hose. I really want to put the HKS back on but want to know if I’m doing it right.
Hey I know this is a year ago and I have a 2021 wrx and had the gs turbo inlet same pattern with the stock inlet and I’m wondering how can I do the recirculating too
It’s strongly suggested that you get a tune for it if you are planning on running it full VTA. You should be okay with recirculating but it’s still recommended.
You could. Would recommend a retune afterwards if you’re going to to VTA. You’re gonna hear the blow off a lot more going VTA. I went with a SD tune after.
It should have come in the kit if you bought it new. It’s the silver piece on the left in this picture. www.importimageracing.com/products/hks-super-sqv4-blow-off-valve-kit-subaru-wrx-2015-2020?gclid=Cj0KCQjwzbv7BRDIARIsAM-A6-2iQ_0-ItE_vSSg_34RB_7MftmPi1SyAFlNyn-2ELuSpdQ8D9pf61YaAnxBEALw_wcB
There’s a STI specific BOV. It’s pretty much the valve and the adaptor. This kit was made for the WRX. Email sales@forgedprojects for the specific part and pricing.
@@tonyreyes3927 gotcha! If you keep it on recirculating then you should be fine. I went VTA but was already tuned for VTA. I’d still get a tune either way.
Make sure you have all of the vacuum lines in the right places and all of your connections are tight. Had a similar problem because the turbo inlet wasn’t seated all the way.
