I thought the special tool was the c-clamp lol, that's how I've always done it, but now I learned to use the old pad as a brace, super smart!

Okay, this is really frustrating. Every video I've seen like this, has one deficiency: you cannot see clearly where are they sticking the screwdriver into the caliper to loosen the caliper back and forth. Where am I shoving this a screwdriver to loosen the caliper??? This is by far one of the best videos, but it still has this deficiency as well. Please clarify.

The only thing you can get to in there is the rotor. You just need a place where you can get leverage on the caliper to compress the piston. If you are replacing the rotor, it doesn't matter where the screwdriver prys against. If you are not replacing the rotor, just be a bit careful. Try not to damage the braking surface of the rotor. If you can, keep the screwdriver in the inner sufaces (where the cooling fins are) to prevent marring the braking surface.

Thank you, this is greatly appreciated, and I'm replacing the rotor so this is great info!

Shouldn't u be using locktite instead of antiseize. You don't want those bolts to loosen due to vibration.

There seems to be some debate on that. I have not ever put loctite on those bolts, just torque them to spec, and I have never had one come loose. If you are more comfortable with loctite, use it.

It is very similar to the back rest installation video I did on the 2002 Rebel, in that you are working with the bolts on the rear frame that hold the fender on. Some kits will come with special bolts, others use the stock bolts. You just remove two of the bolts on each side and then secure the two brackets with the bolts (new or stock depending on what was in the kit). The bags go under the rear seat. So you remove the two bolts holding on the rear seat, remove it, and the lay the bags over the rear fender. Depending on the bags you have, there may either be tied, or there may be a clip to hold the bags to the brackets, so they don't turn into wings while you are driving down the road. LOL. I do not have the 2004 any more, so I can't really do a video on the installation unless I decide to add them to my 2002, which isn't in my plans right now. If you have any additional questions, I will do my best to answer them.
