Great overview thanks for taking the time to go into this much detail. You guys would make a killing in Sydney Australia if you had a dealership here. Great job everyone involved.
As far as the new front end design, I think they added the pivot at the bottom of the coil-over unit because it was over-constrained*, in that, as the strut compressed, it did so, at times keeping parallel with the path aligned by the lower arm, but at times not. In other words, the arm under the chrome plastic cover does all now does all of the lateral constraining, but before, the strut unit did it differently depending on its position in travel, which likely caused the wobble, experienced with older models at certain speeds. Perhaps also, the stiction from the strut could have preloaded any suspension bushings that might be in the system, differently, depending on whether or not the dampener was compressing or extending. If there were any flex in the system, it could have caused binding as well. [*If you take apart a CD player or DVD driver from a computer, it is usually only held by three points. Two of the bushings hold the shaft it slides on from all the way around, but for the 3rd bushing, which isn't much of a bushing, only holds it from top and the bottom, and not the sides. This is an example of holding something by less can make it more accurate.]
First, sorry about the scooter. I am glad the rider is okay. Thanks for showing us the scooter. We came so close to seeing the roller rocker arms : ) I wonder if they would fit the GTS, or if the head geometry is different. Please move up to 1080p resolution, as engines are visually complicated things.
Brenda Make Thanks for the comments! We also just posted a valve job on this same motor in 1080p. We kept the resolution a little lower since this video was so long. Give it a watch!
Hello Vespa Motorsport, I have a question, I own Vespa Primavera 2014, I think is similar with this sprint engine model, Have you ever deal with the Vespa is hard to start? Or after the engine start it suddenly off and is hard to start again? thx
is there a way i can talk to Robot? my throttle won't work. i think the cable came lose. can anyone tell me how to check? Thanks for the awesome video!
I have watched loads of Robots videos, always awesome. I have a primavera 2014, at about 4.30 minutes a long tube thing is pulled out of I think the swing arm, the bearing ? Is this the same on a Primavera, mine as done 12000 miles almost I am told these need replacing. This started to rattle not long after the MOT. Any special tool needed to change this huge bearing. can it be adjusted, tightened? Also watched the videos when you all went to Mexico ( great job) , it's what made me buy my Vespa.
It´s a downgrade in sake of reliability and selfsufficiency. After i got my 2 stroke vespa ,just a 72ccm dr cylinder i never want a 125/150 fourclusterf*ck again. And i swear i reck em in terms of accelleration and cruisespeed.Oil change, here breathe in...Tuned by dremel, costs 5dollars of grinders. Further :the metal quality, paint finish ,general stiffness of parts is just not worth the investment anymore on everything piaggio produced after +-2005. Old vespas went anywhere, new vespa´s go back to the dealer.
