+InaSimon I have it in ignition but did not start the car-(there's 2 positions only, 1st where I insert the key, then 2nd is the standby, lastly turn to start he car) so all lights are on as a light test.
Hi, good video. I have a couple questions that I would greatly appreciate it if you answered some of them. How are the seats, I know there cloth but are they comfortable. And overall how do you like the golf so far? And the biggest question I have is that I want to get a new car and I'm debating between the golf (trend line) and the Hyundai Veloster turbo. ( the Hyundai turbo comes standard with leather). Would you say I should go with a golf even though it's more money to lease a trend line version of the golf than it is to lease a Veloster turbo with leather seats?
The cloth seats are ok supportive. I found out about the back adjustable lever (it helps a lot when you stand quite a bit at work) really late in 2016. In summer, leather seats are less ideal (hot!)and the key is how well it wraps around you. I think veloster has very poor rear visibility. I am not sure on the veloster's pricing and if it is comparable to the trendline trim. I highly recommend test driving both vehicles.
+Vitzrsx -Hayden's Diecast Model Reviews- I love the golf. As My first car it checked off a lot of boxes. 1. decent fuel mileage @7.7L/100km 2.heavier steering and throttle.3. good visibility 4.easy to drive and has some performance 5. comfy front and back leg room 6.not a Japanese car (I drove them before and their steering is way too light) etc.
I don't notice many differences between 2015 and 2016 besides the 16's come standard with back up camera and the media connection has been changed from whatever that proprietary one is to USB and it charges too. How do you find the automatic? I find my automatic 2016 to not shift so responsively or intuitively at lower speed.. if I'm still on the 401 in traffic or slowing down for speed bumps somewhere, it sometimes jerks a little bit. Any issues for you?
I think its related to 'engine knocking' , fuel igniting prematurely. I switched my fuel octane from 87 to 89 and it improves drastically and I find myself flooring the accelarator a lot less.
+vitzrsx Also automatic are not responsive because ecu is set up like that. i.e. You are driving at 60mph and you decelerate to 40, ecu thinks that you are going to continue to decelerate not accel. Just so the tranny is more predictable, then one should gradually accel and not pedal to the floor.
I actually continued my lease on a new GTI last year 2018. The car had no issue whatsoever with 73000 kms. I only had to do oil change and in the first year added factory coolant. So far my 2018 GTi, I didn't have to add coolant yet.
I would say yes, I believe it has updated infotainment system, apple carplay and android auto plus rear view camera. I like the 1.8T because new years they changed to a 1.5T.
+Dovydas Vilčinskas Yea very true. If budget is not of concern I would've considered higher trims. I'm thinking of setting a GTi rim set and winner tires next year :]
Very expensive Trendline i have to say! The standard trendline does NOT have buttons on the wheel or the screen with options between the gauges, no heated seats and no cruise control
This one I upgraded the leather wheel option. I checked the 2019/2020 Golf Comfortline and it seems many of the 2015 options became standard. Once you move up the trim level it's going be a few grand off of a GTi which I current have.
