I've had my Golf R (DSG) for 3 weeks and I'm never going back to a manual transmission.I looked at the Scirocco before buying the Golf R but I wanted a car that was up to date and AWD.In my opinion,it is still one of the best looking hot hatches/coupe on the market.
I currently have a 2011 rocco r and oem psi levels are 18. So i doubt very much its running close to 30psi considering its the same just a facelift. Stage 1 tune bumps it up to around 22 psi
I got my r in black 2 wks ago. Great car n I prefer it to my golf r which I gave to my wife. If u put the 2 together side by side. The scirooco wins hands down but the interior is a bit tacky with all the plastic.given the price, great car
Thanks for the review! Isn't the golf r 10k more in price in Australia? I bt this same car cos I couldnt justify the difference for awd and updates.. Love it! :-)
I have about 32k to spend and cars have gone up and not sure when they will be going back down again. I like the scirocco r and seems to be in my budget, just wondering though is it much of an upgrade over a Mazda 3 MPS 2010 ? I want to upgrade but not sure what else besides the Scirocco I can get. I dont like the looks of of Golf, that shape doesn't do it for me.
@@lunch2102 hi, just happened to be on and this popped up. I ended up buying a Ford Focus ST instead. I really like this car as its cheap to service, is reliable for me, the only thing I needed to do was get a custom tune, because at stock it didn't feel too good coming from a MPS.
@@johnmiceter I was looking at st focus, st fiesta, mps and a few others but recently decided on a scirocco, happy with my decision, if fills a gap I had in my collection, hope your enjoying your Focus 👍🏼
Hi Thao, The engine in the Scirocco R is not the same as the one in the current Golf R. This uses VW direct injection while the Golf R uses Audi direct injection. The text below is taken directly from a VW Group press release, speaking about the then-new 2.0L in the Scirocco R: " ...maximum turbo pressure (1.9 bar at max output and 2.2 bar at max torque, versus 1.8 bar for the 240 PS 2.0-litre TSI" We also took a photo of the boost gauge during acceleration in the Scirocco. You are right, the gauge is in bar. It hits 2.0 during driving although our photo shows 1.9 bar, which is 27.55 psi. performancedrive.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/2015-Volkswagen-Scirocco-R-boost-gauge.jpg Hope this clears it up for you.
