Winter Cities Shake-Up is an international conference intended to shake up preconceptions on the way winter communities live, work and play. Hosted by the City of Edmonton, the event spans three days and includes presentations from design and planning experts and winter fun enthusiasts. Working with congress organizers BUKSA Associates Inc., Freeman Audio Visual used state-of-the-art technology to transform a ballroom inside the Shaw Conference Centre into the epitome of winter entertainment.
Front and rear projection were combined to fill a 132’W x 12’H, 44.5’ radius curved Peroni screen, while three projectors were mapped onto a 12’ inflatable sphere to create a snow globe in the centre. Positioned in front of the globe was a 3.5’H x 25’W LED wall which displayed a variety of content, including portions of the videos and text, as well as the Winter Cities and sponsors’ logos on either end. A Pandora’s Box media server was used to blend four double-converged projectors on the Peroni screen, as well as control the content on the sphere and LED wall. Our Creative Services team designed the multimedia content and videos which interacted with the screen, snow globe and LED wall simultaneously.
