The ruins of the Takato Castle is famous as one of the best three cherry blossoms watching place in Japan. The species of the cherry trees at Takato is special, called "kohikanzakura" different from popular species, "someiyoshino"which is seen at everywhere in Japan. This type of cherry blossoms have smaller flower with deeper pink color than "someiyoshino" , and is very beautiful when it reflect sun shine.
I happned to find beautiful cherry trees of the same kind at a bank of small pond called "Rokudo bank" very close to Takato. They are so beautiful with Japanese South Alps in the background and mirrored on the surface of the pond.
