Just used your video to put MotoFab leveling kit on my 2020 Tacoma Sport. Did it in 6 1/2 hours. Fronts were pretty straight forward. The rears caught me. I tried to do with tire on. Big mistake. Taking tire off made access so much easier. Also putting the block under the spring. I had to use jack on front and one on back of spring to make room to fit block in. Then when I lowered the hole/pins didn't line up, so took some creative work with jacks to move/align pins/holes. Put block on axle pin, then lower jacks/springs on, then hit with mallet to get the pin on spring to go in block hole. Only thing I'm concerned about is the front spring rubbing the sway bar. It looks close. Might order the sway bar kit to move it 1" forward. It's only $30.00 and takes an hour. Love the height of the truck now. Ready for the next mod. Thanks for the video!

Allan Baldemor you need at least 3 inches of clearance for the front. You will also have to cut some of your front bumper and do the cab mount chop. This applies for anything larger than a 33” tire. Hope this helps! Watch my other video about the cab mount chop so you get an idea.

Do you experience any wheel/steering whobble when going appropriately 45-55 MPH? I have this issue and I was told that Toyota's racket and pinion steering is stressed because of the lift modification? Don't know if this is true,thought I would reach out for some feedback.-Thanks 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road/2" leveling kit.
@ChrisCustoms

Ian Peterson I experienced a slight steering wheel shake at 55mph but I have some BF Goodrich AT and I’ve seen reviews that those tires will cause the slight shake. But that’s my personal opinion. I’ve had the lift for some time now and have had no issues. I recently re-torqued all bolts just to ensure optimal security. Let me know if that helped!

Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks is the proper way to get a tacoma leveled, and not wear out other suspension parts or affect the ride
@bradgt5130
@bradgt5130 6 лет назад
ChosenGamingTV your comment makes no sense. Raising the vehicle 1” from a spacer or from the bilstein 5100 puts the same angles on the components. Ones just cheaper than the other. If anything the 5100 affects the ride because it’s a different shock all in all. A spacer like this uses the factory strut and doesn’t require you to take about the coil to install.
@PottersWork

I just got a Tacoma this is super useful, this was the first thing I wanted to do to it! Came across 2 things in research, removing the sway bar and discarding it, modding the CV axle boot by clamping it down further down the shaft with a hose clamp to avoid the folds from rubbing. Anyone got thoughts on these?
@petset77
@petset77 2 года назад
Removing the sway bar link allows each side to be moved independently, without influence from the other side. Removing it permanently changes handling on the highway, so be aware. The only thing not mentioned is that installing the lift block moves the lower bolt position compared to the control arm by 60 degrees, meaning the hole at the bottom doesn't line up. The bottom should twist to line up for the large bolt, and I'll find that out tomorrow when I install my lift.
@shawnmoore234

Are you using a torque wrench as a breaker bar?
@colinandersen1347
@colinandersen1347 5 лет назад
Good call I saw that too! Also he was talking torque the bolts to spec and the first bolts he torques up are the studs and bolts for the spacer and he torques it to 60 ftlp's they are 8 mm bolts max torque on them are 45 ftlp's and he was worried about using a impact so he didn't strip the bolts?? Lol I just did the job on my truck.

Did you guys catch he was using a standard most likely 12 point socket and not an impact one too.

@ChrisCustoms
@ChrisCustoms 4 года назад
Abel Aleman it’s some small CNC billet spacers that are installed on the existing transfer case bolts to keep the geometry of the transfer case. Basically, it levels out the transfer case with the new height of the truck. 🤘🏼

@Mico8791
@Mico8791 3 года назад
With the spacer the old u bolt is not long enough, so the kit includes a longer u bolt to make up the difference of space created by the spacer.

Are Quick lift and leveling kit the same? Cause here in the Philippines every shop that I ask about lifting the truck, they say that quick lift will ruin the under chassis parts so they are telling me that if I want the truck to be lifted I must go for the suspension lift cause they say its the only correct way to do it. Thoughts about it man? Thanks!
@ChrisCustoms
@ChrisCustoms 2 года назад
From the sound of it, I'm not too sure. but a leveling kit won't damage your vehicle as long as you're not raising it more than what your ball joint can handle. In my case, I only went up 2 inches out in the front and 1.5" in the rear. Never have I had an issue with the "level kit". I hope this helps. And thank you for the view! Much appreciate your support.
@DavidRamirez-fe5dd
@DavidRamirez-fe5dd 2 года назад
spacer lift will not damage anything, might bottom out bump stop in extreme off road wheeling, Shops just want to sell you and upgrade to higher$$$ amount. Suspension lift is alot better though , but not necessary if you are doing daily driving and some moderate dirt trails.

Hey man great video. People are pathetic. Obviously you are a DIY’er and it’s not going to be perfect. As am I and I’m about to tackle this same project tomorrow so watching your video was helpful. The leveling kit bashers are even more pathetic. It’s all about your application. Just because you wear tennis shoes doesn’t mean you need to play tennis. You probably just like the look. Figure it out meatheads... Thanks for the vid!

Had a 3 / 1 lift, replace needle gear $535.00, Traction Control System causing loss of control in corners, tire rubbing, loss of power all gears, poor fuel economy that was a 2015 TRD, now have 2017 TRD....no lift, larger rims on same circumference tires - perfect

You could have just undone the top ball joint you did all that extra shit for no reason and you should invest in a breaker bar don’t crack bolts with a torque wrench

That is an option, but sometimes the top ball is more difficult to remove. One or the other has to be removed, and temporarily removing one or the other sway bar links makes things much easier. ....yeah, a breaker bar is needed.
