Hey thanks more than you know... so my son moved into college today. Locked his key in the trunk. Roadside got us into the car... but not into the trunk. Soo I drove upto him and stopped at a homedepot on the way for a 3 foot clamp. And saved the night. Thank you !!!!!!!
Thanks for a very informative video. I have the exact same issue and trying the same method. haven't been able to catch the release with the stick yet. With the seat bottom out i noticed a few torx bolts at the bottom. would removing those torx let me swing the seat back to give me some clearance to the trunk?
I finally got it and what made the difference was sticking an inspection camera into the trunk so I could see where the release was. But thanks for the suggestions and the super helpful video!
You’re welcome. I now keep a permanent string attached to the emergency boot release, through the seat so I won’t have to take my seat apart again . Good luck 🍀
The explanation for this is battery degradation, batteries hold less charge over time, so as the battery ages the car charges it more. You need to register a new battery to it so the car knows exactly how much power that new battery holds, and charges it to what it should be at. Basically makes it so you don't have to replace the battery as frequently, you can program a new battery yourself using bimmerlink.
My battery was so dead it wouldn’t take a charge, not even enough to voltage to open the trunk. It turned out that the computer on the right side passenger kick panel blew and wouldn’t allow any voltage to the battery . When I got the trunk opened and put in a new battery i still had nothing, that’s how I found out about the computer .
Hey dude , there is a cable JUST BACK OF YOUR IICENCE PLATE ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's the casual emergency system to open the trunk " MANUALY " without any energy .... Are you can take it under the little "LIGHT " for the licence plate .... that's the two logik way to make it .....
