2016 Chevrolet Malibu How To Change Oil 1.5 Turbo 2016-2019

In this video we are doing an oil change on a new style 2016 Chevy Malibu LT that has 1.5 Turbocharged 4-Cylinder Engine. Oil Viscosity is 5W30, the right amount to put is 4.2 Quarts of oil. I am using ACDelco brand oil filter. As usual I am also using my favorite premium Royal Purple Motor Oil.

You should fill filter with oil before installing it, this eliminates the 2-3 second lag before oil pressure goes to normal. You should have shown how to reset oil life minder

Be advised 2018+ actually uses 0W20 oil.

Oh really?! Well thank you for sharing. 0W20 is less friction and more fuel efficient oil.

Hello thank you for the video awesome job. I just purchased a 2016 Malibu with the same engine I had one question where did you place the floor jack on the front of the vehicle to jack up the vehicle to get the vehicle high enough to place the jack stands under the vehicle? Thanks again great video!

Hello, thank you! The front of the vehicle has subframe and frame under the car. They are big skeletal steel all around under the engine under the car. I just push up on one of those to pull it up and rest on jack stands. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Can u add the fresh oil to the new filter? I've seen people fill it up to the top and add it to the ring. But I just wanna kno if it's safe b4 I do it to my girls car lol

Yes, sure. You can try Mobil 1 Synthetic oil. They claim it lasts 10,000 miles. Hope this helps. Thank you.

As long as it meets the oil type of your car. Should be on the oil cap.

If your cars oil capacity is 4.2 qts, why did you put all 5 qts in your engine. Did I miss something?

Why didnt you explain how to take all the plastic crap out of the way ? There are some of us that like to take care of our newer vehicles and dont want to tear anything up. Your video lacks alot of info .iv been a mechanic over 48 yrs .so i know when something is bs
