Cirrus didn't renew me as a CSIP because I wasn't keeping up with the online program management, and not using/documenting their training material properly. I probably deserved it!
that intro with western music was a surprise to me, another thing was of you two chuckling while doing that banking to left, very unusual from your videos but very refreshing; as usual the presentation of the SR22 was excellent pretty good looking aircraft, dashboard gives you a hint for the future, great sweeping views with that camera; one thing i noticed that the ATC was shortened out from start of engines to head of runaway, its a way to insert other segments later on, Awesome video guys!
You showed yourself in the office packing your flight bag before heading out to the plane? Always enjoyable and informative videos. I also enjoy getting to see the landscape of the area you get to fly out of.
Rich, love your videos ! No AP use. Also like the music on the intro. Thanks for your professionalism. You help me to better understand all things aviation.
You are correct on no AP use, but we handed out all the hats already. Stay tuned and we'll have more soon. Thanks for the message, and glad you are getting something from the videos!
Good video! It was interesting to see there was a purpose for a video other than selling the aircraft. Knowing that you are planning to compare the SR22T to another aircraft seems to be a good idea. Your niche over other RU-vidrs is being able to fly many different type of aircrafts. Maybe doing actual comparisons of different aircrafts rather than like other RU-vidrs using the manufacturer’s videos to do the comparisons could be a new angle for content. Keep up the great work!
You made a complete lap through the pattern, a take-off and landing, before departing for the main section of the review. This is what I noticed was different.
I seen you flew with the tie downs on adding to the parasite drag…noticed that at the end of the video. Agreed with the other items people mention on no destination and taxing instead of touch and go too.
You didn't set the autopilot once. Sweet plane. They really know how to build an ergonomic cockpit. Is there a big difference between Perspective and Perspective+?
Yea, I know some other instructors who are no longer Csip instructors due to differences on how to fly. I get that Cirrus had “their” way, but that didn’t mean any other way is “wrong”….. Didn’t notice anything “significantly” different as you change up some between videos anyway, but I take a hat anyway or swap you one!
It was really my fault with Cirrus. I didn’t meet their standard with using their training material (which customers had to purchase for me to get training credit for). Personal opinion - with the way flight instruction is now, Cirrus should really find a way to keep experienced instructors in their program.
At 8:42 you read the true airspeed as 176kts. However, in the lower left that's showing as the ground speed, it's showing a TAS of 184kts due to a quartering headwind. Can I have a hat?
You did a lap in the pattern, didn’t engage the autopilot and its not often you don’t shoot at least 1 instrument approach. You also mentioned being fired as a CSIP
You mentioned Cirrus fired you, that was different and I don't think you mentioned it before. LOL I'm becoming "follicly challenged", new hats are cool!!. 8) Does the wing change shape w/wo TKS? The leading edge looks a little thinner? Thanks!! 8) --gary
“Fired” was maybe too strong - they didn’t renew my CSIP designation because I wasn’t using their program admin correctly. Wing on the SR22 is the same but if you get TKS they install panels on the wings/tail to disperse the anti-ice fluid. Adds some weight and drag. Thanks for watching!
What did you do differently? At the beginning you did not say your tag line of "we're going to bring you along for the flight" (or some variety of that phrase)
Rich, another great video. This especially Cirrus is an art piece. Really awesome. I love it. You fly it so ease and smooth. Just in perfection of aviators work love. Is this your company plane? Some new member? And I want to say, you are 100% right. It’s also my absolute opinion. The fully equipped TKS single engine Cirrus is very often in questionable conditions flying, because the pilots think, I can do it. I have TKS. You can see this in many videos, it what conditions they are flying. To me ridiculous. Yes you can do it, but it is not smart. They get more careless about weather. To me it’s better in this single engine plane, to plan better my weather options and stay out of this. And as you said, the clean wing has some nicer sex appeal. Planes have their missions and limits. And a single engine plane like the Cirrus, their mission should not be in bad conditions all the time. So I get your idea about this and share this 100%. Everybody as he likes. Save aviation needs smart aviator and save flying missions. Severe icing and bad weather is nothing common for a Cirrus aircraft or Cessna 182 or Mooney or what so ever. ❤ thanks Rich again for this great review of this beauty. 😊
You can plan all you want but sometimes you'll stumble into a little of it. Depending on what part of the country you were in, it would definitely be nice to have it. Just to be able to get in or out of somewhere. As long as it's light ice and a thin band of it.
@@FlyingwithRich ok. I thought it was funny how you talked about in your video. "Did I mention Cirrus fired me?" LOL. I love your channel by the way Rich. Great content. Private pilot from the bay area up north. I learned to fly when I was 40. I got a chance as a surprise to fly a new 2006 cirrus. First like it in my area. It was like a space ship. First glass pannel I ever saw. Flying that plane why I was a student changed things for me. I was never the same after that. Thanks for all the videos. I hope to meet you someday. Would love to buy a plane from you.
What did you do differently in this video? Forget to shave? Oops, no that's quite normal. Just being cool eh? Love your work mate. Dave Sydney Ausralia
Haha more like what I didn’t do - which was not really embracing there training material and syllabus like I should. I was free lance CSIP and just didn’t fit in with their online management program. Fired was probably too strong of a word - Cirrus just chose not to re-new me as a CSIP. Thanks for watching!
It was kind of a joke, “fired” might be a strong word. They didn’t renew me as a CSIP because I didn’t meet their standard use of their training materials/on line records.
Firstly, I love your videos! But what you didnt do, was mention that you liked the fact the bird had no fiki…..I think you forgot to mention that…😂😂❤️🤟🏻
Agree - and I have customers/friends who gave me a hard time about that comment about no de-ice for me so I certainly get it. I'm kind of spoiled by west coast flying! Thanks for watching!
What you did different- you received the departure at the river, but stayed in the pattern and returned to land. I was expecting you to mention some mechanical problem and you were returning to the airport, but that didn't happen.
