What I find really humorous is when people say things like "Kung Fu doesn't work/ is inappropriate for UFC, blah blah blah..." Wushu Sanda fights are probably one of the closest competitions to US UFC/ MMA etc. The are tons of Wushu competitions in China and indeed the rest of the world. What is even more funny is that you apparently don't see many Chinese fighters (and hence "Kung Fu") in UFC (i.e. considering the size of the country). Unless a Chinese person was interested in the large prize monies given out from things like UFC, why, oh why, would they feel the need to go to USA and fight when they can simply fight in competitions in their own country?? UFC is done in USA... Chinese people, um... live in China, not USA. From a societal point of view, many Chinese people have different ways of looking at things. I am sure that many Chinese people would feel much more pride, and gain more prestige, by participating in Chinese tournaments.
