I own a Type R and honestly, you have to appreciate both cars if you are a real enthusiast. I was looking at both of em, but here in Germany the Focus RS is significantly more expensive and there was no good reasoning for me to get the RS. I also like the manufacturing quality of the Type R a bit more. The seats feel better, the shifter is probably the best out there and well... it's got VTEC xD But really, it does not matter which one you buy, both cars are absolutely great and you won't make a mistake by buying eithr of them.
Hi guys and girls. A few people have been asking about interior comparisons, of which there isn't one in the video. The original edit of this video did have one but it was cut due to the video being too long. However, we still have that footage so if enough people want it and like this, then I can publish another video with all of the interiors. Sorry about it not being there, we just felt it killed the pace a bit and made it too long to justify. Let us know what you want... UPDATE: Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rWDBBr8-4_s.html
Yes! Pls compare interiors too. From what ive seen and heard ford interiors have very plastic/ cheap kinda feel on their dash and door panels. idk bout the new civics, but my dc2 (gen3) has nicer interior than lots of these newer cars that are nothing but plastic.
Ok, looks like a good amount of you want to see that footage. This week we are working with some other cars, but I can schedule the interior video in for next week. Hope that works for everyone.
+Inside Lane I don't think that anyone prefers "pace" over information in a review. Also the video is already more than ten minutes which will scare the quick-i-gotta-go guys away anyway.
+ Kaisuke 971 shut up nigga , it even beat your slow ass bimmer , go cry to yo mama Always must be that stupid bimmer guy comment hate on honda, you know what , bmw sucks for reliability so go suck on it good for ownership first few years then it break your wallet
I like this guys unbiased review. He really puts thought into his commentary, one parallel that i thought was really something is another channel made a review comparing the Subaru WRX and the Ford Focus ST, the difference were nearly exactly the same. I think it really comes down to who you are, in choosing between these two.
+Romo Maloul I've owned the WRX and ST and am really intrigued with the new Type R because I've owned a few Hondas/Acuras over the years and it's a struggle to come up with negative things to say about Hondas/Acuras (except for the fact that the Fit I owned was way underpowered to the point it could have gotten better MPG's with a bigger motor) from a daily driver perspective. *shrugs*
+Cricket Just Cricket I've not owned an RS yet, but if the ST is indicative of what I might experience with the RS -- outside of the drivetrain -- I might just want to see what the Type-R feels like before rushing to buy an RS.
I can't get over the busy all over the place styling of the Civic Type R. It's too boy racer and if anything, makes you wish Honda would have at least take cues from their previous RSX - a gorgeous car.
I'm sure the Civic is a wonderful car to drive, but I just can't get away from the fact it looks like it was styled by someone who's weekend job is animating low budget Saturday morning cartoons. The original Type R was a very clean, simple, good looking car. This one is just trying way too hard.
I plan on buying the type R when it hits the states. I could have pulled the trigger on the RS but I need a car thats more fun to drive. Going around a track slightly faster does not mean its more fun. The civic type R is lighter and therefore more responsive and nimble. Also, the shifter and the seating position is far superior than in the RS which again, brings me back to the importance of driver engagement. The RS seats make you sit high up and ontop of the car. Lastly and not mentioned in this video, Honda is far superior in reliability and holding its value than Ford. I guarantee that RS will give drivers more headaches than they can afford.. especially when they mod.
I traded in my 2011 WRX hatch for a 2014 Focus ST. In some ways I regret it, but in some ways I do not. With that FWD vs AWD bit I do miss the AWD in the wet and snow, but the ST feels much more poised and fun and maybe even just a bit quicker on the highways. With the RS I'd imagine it would combine the best of both worlds with regards to traction and handling, BUT I will say my ST feels chintzy -- not that my WRX didn't feel chintzy with its A/C going out at like 60k miles and annoying rattles, but the Focus I have feels neglected in other aspects of build quality such as the dash, floor mats and generally fit-and-finish inside and out. I'm on the fence with trying to find an older STi hatch or a new RS. Perhaps I'm one of those guys that looks at the Civic Type R as the car that might actually suit my preferences the best -- I've been a Honda owner for a decade or so and have never been disappointed, at least not quite like I've been disappointed with the Subaru or Ford.
i really like the honda more, but i respect the engineering of the ford. i hope subaru will put the sti to it's paces with a new model. great review as always!
I absolutely hate Ford's, but this Focus is a truly amazing car. It is making me take a hard look at Ford today. The choice for me is the Focus due to performance and the fact that a grown man can own it without looking like I am having a mid life crisis. What a car, cheaper and faster than all the competition. I am thinking of getting one.
I could see liking the styling of the TypeR if I were 15 again and in love with Fast and Furious movies...But being a grownup, I'll take the Focus in black.
My first encounter with the Focus was mid 2000. Did not care for how it look. They had the recalls for the wheels falling off, the stereo would turn itself back on after turning the car off (it was an actual feature to be used, but not by itself. It was meant for the driver to turn on) and then the turn signal switch started going bonkers. Left and right would come on at random, sometimes both at the same time. That said, seeing the RS and what the Focus has become, particularly in the hatchback area is astounding. I never would have thought Ford would do an all-wheel drive setup, let alone make it into some kind of all weather, and even a track car. I've been in some kind of Honda since 2010. I grew up as someone who loved American cars, particularly muscle cars. Almost bought a Camaro in 2011. In some regards, I wish I had. I now have a 92 Civic and love it, though it's hard parked. With the right mods and drive train, it'll be a killer car. Seeing and hearing about the Type-R, on top of it coming to the US, has really peaked my interest in it. Unfortunately, I won't have the money to buy it. Love the comparison between the two. Just got introduced to this channel the other day. Will be watching more as the days go by. :)
I'm not sure why anyone is impressed with a 300hp FWD car since we've had that or similar in basic sedans for over 10 years. The Maxima, Impala, Azera, Cadenza, Lacrosse all have or have had between 270 and 300+ hp and put the power down fine without being high performance cars. Back on topic, I agree that AWD RS would be more useful in most situations, the Type R will be a very niche market car that can't use its power most of the time.
+iSOBigD ...do you seriously not understand why 300HP for a Type R is good? Every one of those cars you mentioned is at least 500lbs heavier and is geared completely differently. They aren't considered high performance because they're clumsy at high speeds. All of this should be pretty obvious, and that being said, 300HP for a 3000lbs car is not bad.
Peter Schmidt 1000hp for a 3000lb car would be not bad either, my point is that you can put tons of HP on a FWD car without any issue, there's nothing amazing about it and it's a common thing. Also, something like a 6th gen maxima was 3500lb while being a giant full size car, so 3000lb is only light by today's standards because cars got way heavier. The issue is people seem to think only RWD and AWD cars can have over 200hp.
+Raul Espinoza that's not true at all. there are modified fwd civics which beat a veyron in a straight line. it's just a matter of power, weight and grip (they use much wider front wheels). The limitation for fwd cars is that the wheels also need to turn so you can't use 15 inch wide wheels in the front for example. Rwd cars with high hp simply use wider wheels and tires to put the power down. With 7" wheels and no traction control any rwd car with 200hp+ will spin in place if you floor it as well. Nissan also had a track only racecar btw which was fwd and it had no problem keeping up.
People are forgetying a tr was never ever meant to be a powerhouse car it has and always will be a momentum car 300hp isn't a lot of power obviously but the civic is able to be so agile and quick in corners thanks to the engineers at Honda that have been making perfectly balanced cars that have always been beating the cars with more power in circuits or on the touge
I have to agree with you, having recently driven the 2016 CTR it's amazing but simply too harsh for UK roads, plus R button is redundant on 80% of our roads, the other 20% are motorways. Props for not doing a pointless 0-60 between a FWD and AWD like so many do. Peace
Inside Lane the R looks better, sounds better, has more theater... if you're going out too buy the track focused cars you're going to want something that excites you more. its the NSX / GTR problem, people who want to go out and buy super cars want to be thrilled and excited like no other super car / sports car can do... but yet they are so numb, un-engaging, and boring for the sake of being easier to drive and to live with... most people already own a 2nd car for that duty of the DD. and if you're looking at these rather expensive hit hatches im sure either 1 you own a DD or 2 you would go with something more DD friendly.
@@thesulo12 The RS can be made to look good with a few tweaks here and there and the right colour. There's no saving that Type R it looks like a silly cartoon
Hey just wanted to say that I appreciate your videos and must say that this video was excellent. After watching this I went out and purchased a 2016 Focus ST (RS was too expensive) the next day and I have been nothing but satisfied thus far! Keep up the Great content!
Thanks for the review, but please next time include one of the most important factors that ALL (and I do mean ALL) reviewers neglect ... what is the HP to weight ratio? It's a sports car, this is the most important number you can provide viewers who are into sports cars. After some research the Honda is 9.9 lbs per HP (3050 lbs / 306 HP), the Ford is 9.8 lbs per HP (3459 lbs / 350 HP).
I had a wrx STI, that I sold a few months ago, and the I bought one Type r, having tried focus, I can openly(frankly) help you if you have a question on these 3 cars . I have had 3 VTEC in the past, and I definitely Fan again and again of Japanese cars and not for nothing.
Always been a Honda fan due to good engineering, design, reliability, and resale, but I gotta admit that over the top styling looks like crap and the clean lines of the focus are really nice.
The Type-R is very good but the comment related to Honda put 306hp on the front wheels seems a little bit exaggerated like it was a new achievement.. remember the old focus RS? The first hot hatch to put 300hp on the front wheels ? :)
+Inside Lane I've driven an old Focus RS a few times, it was an animal, but not always in a good way. Hard to get away from junctions/roundabout's quickly with even a hint of rain, and was happy to try and rip your arms off when accelerating quickly. Also done a few miles in the new Civic R, and its great, really liked it. I'd still favour the new RS on paper, but not had a chance to drive one yet.
Cool video! I just wish u would talk in more detail. For example u mentioned weight factors but never included the actual weight. I know i can go look them up, but it makes the video more comprehensive. thanks for ur time in sharing this, these are the 2 most exciting hatches on market right now.
Good effort and a thumbs up from me. When I see a comparison I'd really expect them to be driven together over the same roads though. I know you've driven them within a few days of each other but they really need to be driven together in my opinion. Also feel the interior comparison is a key part of a head to head and shouldn't be cut out. Having ordered an RS I can see how the Type R could give better feedback to a good driver in perfect conditions. I'm probably not good enough to get the best out of the Honda though and I feel the torque vectoring of the RS is a better benefit to me on normal roads. Pretty much what you say! Well done.
+Ian James Both cars were driven on the same day back to back, but logistically it was impossible on that day to get them together at the exact same time. I have driven both is similar conditions and so the summary is my ultimate judgement of the pair. I am writing an article to accompany this which will have a few more details. Sorry about the interiors being cut out. The video was over 13 minutes with them in and we like to keep our lengths down to around 8 mins. If enough people want interior comparisons we still have the footage and could do a video on it.
"Both cost the same." You can end the video right there. You get so much more for your money with the Ford. It's the winner before you even get behind the wheel. The only people that will buy the civic are Honda fanboys.
or, the people who appreciate true driving feels and a bit more rawness in a car, RS might as well be an automatic too, already does 90% of the work for you
😂😂 naa no buthurt here, I love all cars all makes all types whatever doesn't matter, I have a swapped 89 civic, factory rack and pinion, no power steering, AC, airbags, and boy is that the definition of driving feel. I've driven awd turbo cars, a few, and I can entirely relate to what he means by driving feel, faster or power isn't always better, and compare the Nurburgring times between the 2.
rs is not only the better all rounder, mount-tune will take this car to 450 bhp and keep the warranty, but you got to think resale too.. look at the previous models. type r after 5 years loses 60% of its value RS after 5 years loses 10% of its value a good Sierra RS is worth 3 times its original value
+Ose93da just had a look on auto trader USA and the civic type R sell's for the same pathetic price over there as it does in Europe however looks like they cost more on the US market in the first place. I did see the new type R on the track the other day and it was fast for a family car.
A great comparison video that hits all of the bullet points. However, for the purposes of the US market, it would appear that the Type R would come out on top. Thanks!
Something MAJOR you all overlooked. Ford Focus' have a SOLID reputation for being lemons. Honda Civics are SOLID examples of reliability. Ask any mecanic.
+TheBigDanois except these aren't the base models that Joe Blow buys. these performance models have very little in common with their econobox siblings.
What a time to be a driver or hatch fan! Two unbelievably sick cars. I have the focus st (2015) and I love it for reasons that apply to both of these, Focus look and feel but front wheel drive excitement.
+raidacaipo No he preferred the Type R under good conditions. Under everyday (slippery) conditions he preferred the RS. The reality is the RS is inherently a more capable car especially on the track.
Meh id take the type R for the fact of If you drive a car every day you know how it will act and the fact that you get more response from it that makes it more of a drivers car. Focus rs is nice but still Type R proves its king with Times and the fact that they made race cars from them. alternatively ford is planing on rallying the rs so a better comparison would be a wrx sti and a rs they are in the same group of people
I know it's preferences, but I can't stand how Hondas have started looking over the years, I've had 3 civic 90's, early 2000's and mid 2000's. I used to hate the look of the focuses but love the look of them now. I love the focus st my fiancé and I have, we will be trying to get the rs hopefully in a year or two. Well Done Team Ford. Coming from a team Subbie loyalist.
AWD beats out FWD anyday.. i drive a FWD.. i hate it. it spins so much, you lose so much power taking off, and this guys does a terrible job of pointing that out.. he says, '' if the road surface is perfect i prefer the honda...'' how often are roads perfect? come here to Canada you'll never want that civic
Great video and I totally understand what this guy is saying, I'd still go for the Honda though because I'm a driver and wouldn't want the car to do all the work, that's down to my ability and talent
+Mcufre Likely for the same reason we haven't. RS is so new at the moment, Ford are only just starting to give them to journalists to take home, it means there is a restriction with what you can do with them. For example, Ford organised the use of Silverstone for the RS but we couldn't take the Type R on track because it was a Ford event.
always honda because it is FUN and RELIABLE.....i most definitely don't want to spend all that money for one and a few years there's a major problem with it all for the sake of it's a bargain or I can drive it in any weather I rather have something like the type R which I know it's reliable and fun to drive but yeah it might not be for every weather condition but I least anytime I want to get in it I know it will start up everytime and last for years
+gentlemonsterkennels To be fairly honoust, the quality issue this guy adresses is correct. Anybody who is into cars knows the quality of Honda vs any other make. If you deny that fact you might want to get education on that.
while I'm a Honda fan and especially the Type R and can't wait for the 2018 version. which will be my next vehicle! I respect this great honest review and I see pros and cons on both, but Honda is my choice and always will be! :) Good job!
Great, unbiased review. While I understand your thoughts about the Focus RS applying its power more coherently; I do think I would choose the Type R. As elementary as it is I am a mess-around-in-traffic kind of guy. I think that with the minor modifications I normally apply to my turbocharged cars (intake, catalytic converter removal, more boost/boost control, tune) the Type R would be a faster 30-120mph sprinter. Once past the launch FWD puts power to the ground more effectively than AWD due to drivetrain loss. The identical vehicle FWD vs. AWD will be faster in FWD format, assuming you have proper tire, unless you are talking seriously high horsepower. I guess I just would like to challenge the untenable thought that AWD is always faster than FWD because it "puts the power down". This is only true when launching and when steering. It is easy to read that last sentence and think launching and steering encompass all of performance driving. But if you think about it often times the small contests I get in light to light are not flat out launches and FWD has legs up top compared to the AWD. This only applies to my specific enthusiasm. For most people the RS is probably the "better" choice. I just figured I would share my thoughts!
+AJ Mangino Your right with what you say. Back in the day i had a 295bhp Focus rs mk1 and had a go against a 360bhp evo 8 from ~30-140mph. While being very close i was actually a couple car length ahead in that time. Launching off the line i got annihilated everytime, could reverse a little what was lost off the line but not enough. Be interesting matching both cars on a 30mph roll and seeing what happens. Me personally id always pick the RS due to my love of the mk1 but i have a sneaking suspicion the type R may be quicker on rolling starts.
Confession of a Focus RS owner: I love the RS for it's all weather performance, smiles per miles. I have great respect for the civic. Once the civic spools up, it gave my RS quite a run for the money. It's also a car that looks like it'd be easier to live with (my wife refuses to drive in the RS as it's so bumpy).
More value for the money is the RS? lol Just own both a few years later then the truth of value shows up. The Honda is much more reliable, more economical to own and able to keep its resale value higher and less down times due to car problems. As for the Ford owners you will be sending your favorite mechanic's kids to University at your expense.
+Lok Tom Not sure if you was looking to buy an RS or Type R that reliability would be your biggest concern. Have you seen the price of an Escort/Sierra Cosworth these days? Or even a 7 year old RS would set you back £20k. Normal depreciation rules don't apply to these cars, if you bought a second hand 2016 RS now it would cost more than a new one!. Additionally a new car would have a warranty so no worries about any major repairs etc, apart from the cost of new rubber, but that is an expense I can live with :)
+Thomas Brown Well, when a 2016 used RS is back on the market so soon, it only means the previous owner experience is not a pleasant one. But he has done the right decision. Sell it quick & high $$$$$ while the market demands is hot and trade for something nicer. It's not a keeper.
+Lok Tom how do you know it's more reliable? it's a new car with new engine. there's no history to back up your claims other than typical John Doe thinking "honduhs are moar reliable".
+Vlican Between the 2 Honda is more reliable. Just check out the history of their products from the past 5 years or older. Ford can't even built a regular no thrill and no performance grocery getter reliable. We can argue all day about it. Finally is still your decision to feel the experience. I have experienced with both companies before the comment.
+Thomas Brown Most people sees top performance is in their top ownership priority. Bragging Right. Unless you trade in very frequently. But as for a "keeper" it is a complete different situation. It means how much down times during repairs ( even wt warranty claims ) and does it hurt you financially in the long run ? Not to mention the embarrassing of waiting for the bus during repairs. Better get some nice dark sun glasses to wait for the bus if you gonna own a Ford., cause you don't want your friends and neighbors sees you there.
A nice fair video - a lot seem to be one sided but this video seems genuine and honest. I'm a Honda man usually but can't deny the Focus is (for value terms) the better choice of car. Not sure which I'd pick if I had the chance to be given one to be honest.
I love my Honda but I couldn't buy the type r. I feel like I'd have to immediately do mods to tone down the exterior. the rs definitely seems like the idea car for a more mature driver
+Jonathan Torres another rwd Honda would be sweet. Honda's awd systems really seem to be lacking, might be a different story in a couple, hatch or sedan though
Real world... I'd throw snow tires on the RS and have a blast sliding around in the snow doing AWD drifts feeling like I'm on a rally stage Would you have the same 4 season fun with the Civic?
The Civic that lapped the ring was fitted with a roll cage, i challenge them to push the stock car as hard without that extra protection :) Without specialist safety gear you have to drive a track as dangerous as the Nurburgring with some factor of safety unless you want to die. Aside from that pretty good video, cheers
I keep on hearing about how fun the RS is and how it feels sort of rear wheel drive. That must count big time for fun factor, no? Would have been interesting to actually have the facts of lap times on a dry and on a damp track....
+Davillain maybe I would agree if this was 15 years ago, but you need to wake up and stop giving excuses. this is a German made car and completely out classes the type r. I love both cars but speed and control wise the rs takes the lead. still I don't understand why the civic is stuck with front wheel drive, it is the only weakness in that car
video put it nicely, both are awesome cars and really depends on your taste. id personally go with the civic due to the fact there are so many focus Rs bombing around my area and would prefer something a bit different
I live in a place were we have sunny days 90% of the year. Do you think Type-R could be a better choice because of it? Is Type-R more economic and tolerable for some every day use?
I'd say that the Type R fits the bill for the weather, but for everyday use I'd suggest the Focus RS. If you are really into your hot hatchbacks then the harder ride of the Honda might not be a problem.
Inside Lane Well currently am living with a Swift Sport so i guess one of this hatchbacks is an upgrade to a bigger stronger category but considering what i have is still a sport little car and i don't find it too painful to go around i am wondering on whether something like a Type-R is much harder ride in terms of suspension absorption when not in a race mode. You noted in the Type-R review that is quite economic on fuel for a sport car so i wonder if the RS is the same or are you suggesting it as better all rounder based mostly on suspension stiffness? I am a little inclined to Type-R because of the trust i have in Japanese cars threw the years of experiencing them and because i love a great manual gearbox and a seat position with a good feeling is something i value a lot and Type-R seems to be getting better comments from the RS on those. Also from you review it really seems to be a more pleasurable cabin to live with. BUT is doesn't have that sweet 4wd. That 4wd really is a game changer for the RS and i wonder if my sunny whether makes it a little less of a game changer.
The RS is easier to live with in terms of comfort. Type R does do better on economy. AWD certainly gives the RS straight line performance advantage in any weather. My advice would be to test drive both, each has pros and cons and one car will suit some but not others. Like the Swift Sport by the way!
Didn't Ford stop racing with the RS on Nurnburg because they couldn't match the time of the Type-R? The journalist mentioned four times that the RS is faster on a wet track, a lot of the video was made on a track but we don't get laptimes??
It almost sounds like the biggest problem with the RS over the Type R is that the RS does everything so well that it's not as 'exciting' as the Type R. At least that's what your review sounds like to me.
ohplezz lol you swear like that shits true at all, Honda has overall definitely downgraded in quality with things like cvt transmissions, engine power, and just making a lot of their parts now in newer ones in Mexico and China. My buddy has a 2008 Acura TL thing is piece of shit he's dumped a bunch of money into and the thing doesn't even have 120k miles on it, and he's put about 60k on himself and it was family owned before him and properly maintained, and it still breaks all the time. My 2008 mercury sable premier is not only way nicer interior wise, it's faster, and I just hit 173k miles, got it with 54k miles on it, and I've put less then 1 grand into repairs in that time frame, which has been 4 years. And that was an output speed sensor, 1 transmission mount, a tie rod, and a blower motor. That's it, and the thing is still running strong and I do delivery which is very rough on most vehicle
ohplezz since about 2007 or so Ford has been kicking Hondas ass, these cvs transmissions are shit and you know it, Ford Escape, Ford Fusion, Ford F-150, Ford Explorer, Ford Focus, Ford Taurus, everyone of those newer models shits on any newer model Honda
That is why Ford's resale value is sooooo great? Right....lol. Of course not. The resale value on the Focus drops 20% the moment you roll off the lot. 5 years later it at worth shit because every body knows Ford makes crap. Ford stands for Found On Road Dead. My 06 honda has 140k on it and it runs like new. It's good for another 100k easy.
TheDrizzykush...That still explains why Honda is receiving more awards all while getting overall higher ratings in interior, fuel mileage, saftey, resale value and affordability? Yeah...Funny.
i like the type R better i wish it was AWD that would be awesome but those fenders are awful on the Type R, if they did a z3 fender delete and got rid of those flares by the front wheels it would look a lot better IMO
Performance is great and it's one of the reason I love hot hatches (personally own an ST), but aside from the "hot" part, how good is the Civic at being a hatch? It's been a long time since we've had a Civic hatchback in the US, so very curious about the practicality side of things compared to the Focus.
95% of the people would not buy a sports hatch, so that was a moot argument. The remaining 5% can be divided in two. 1.Those who think numbers would make them better drivers 2.Those having the skills and level to apreciate a true racing machine. The Civic is built for the latter. Add to that the very important long term ownership cost none of these reviewers seems to bother about, and the Civic really is on its own.
I've been hearing of the Focus RS issue of going through a set of tires extremely fast because of the awd system and the torque vector, and that's not including the drift mode being used.
i owned fwd golf 6 tsi 200hp, fwd just grip and on the limit, its understeer and juddering a whole body. this RS is AWD and can send most of its power to the rear wheels while provide sufficient grip in wet conditions. i think if i sold my golf, i would buy focus RS instead of type R. value for money.
both cars are great but what I see is if you always been a Honda person your obvious choice will be the type r and vise versa. Both are great in wet conditions but the RS is better with AWD. All comes down to personal preference and I like my cars to be as close to feeling as a race car as possible and based on all the reviews so far the type r is an aggressive street/track car.
Inside Lane first time hearing about that car I had to use Google. Probably most of the work will be suspension and chassis refinements. It already comes with some of the most aggressive tires on the market so doesn't leave from for improvement in that department. I'm sure Honda won't stay behind thought or anyone else for that matter.
two cars. one video. timeline - introduce. drive one. drive the other. compare and summary. this chopping around between them, dialogue here, dialogue there, i ended up getting lost which car you were talking about. planning !! :)
+gip1279 was it an st? was it new? was it beat to shit? was it a first year of a new model? did it blow up while romping on it on a cold start? theres so many factors that go into this
Looks are subjective you'll also find cars grow on you after a while, I used to hate the looks of the previous type R (fn2) and now I think they look awesome! Ford has done very well with the pricing of this car... and I'd deffo say it was better looking than the Honda... Fully spec the Focus RS to same spec as a type R GT and you'll find it is more expensive, but even so it's still awesome value for money!Type R pro's:- Faster around a track (when dry)- Faster from a rolling start (a lot less weight)- Better gearbox- Better seats- More spec as standard- Reliability- Better MPG RS pro's:- Faster off the line- Faster in adverse weather conditions- More subtle- Sounds better- Overall looks (even though the front end is copied from an Aston Martin lol)- Driver modes- Better value for money... I'm picking up the new type R in a couple of months :)
+TheAftermath1987 I think I said in my previous Type R video, I wouldn't blame anyone for picking one over the other. Both are amazing machines and I am sure you will enjoy your Type R loads!
