380 WHP Ford Focus RS | The Working Man's Supercar 

Hands down my favourite hatchback we've ever filmed... @kona_rs and @roadsuntraveled on IG if you want to keep up with the latest!

Everyone complains about the exhaust... the audio was off a bit because they were recording the exhaust outside the car, and pairing it with the shots... you can hear the REAL exhaust in a few shots. I own a focus rs and exhaust sounds great. You guys need to use your head instead of looking for reasons to shit on a great car

As a bike rider I appreciate when cage drivers are good enough to rip around and stay on their side of the tarmac! Cheers

I spent 16 years of my life in a '79 RX7, '85 560SL and an '89 Civic SI. The Mazda was a go-cart. An inch off the ground and a lot of fun but not real fast. The Benz was very fast but had serious oversteer and I learned some things real quick. The SI was seriously under powered but owning a new home, I needed a fun (cheap/reliable) car with good gas mileage. I just drove my son in law's RS. It may or may not be faster than the Benz. It sure handled 10X better but was obviously not as smooth. The car felt like the Honda (as in ride wise) which shocked me. I expected the Focus to be bumpy and rough. Like I said, it was no Benz, it wasn't a go cart but felt like those old Honda's before they went insanely soft. Just the ride, that is. A tad rough around the edges, not soft but not hard. The precise steering is amazing. The cornering etc is at least as good as the RX7 (been a long time) but it didn't feel like a go cart (although I loved that feeling and that car). This car is special. Kind of a combo of everything good I've ever driven. I wish it didn't have the racer boy spoiler and I'd pay to remove it. Anyone thinking of buying this should disregard the 'horrible local driving' rep as that's BS. Maybe an Evo might deserve that rep but this car does not. I did HATE the idiot gas/1st gear thing. I'd prefer to apply the gas. I know how to balance any manual on the steepest hills and don't need help. I also thought the car was too loud and he did everything he could to make it less noisy.

I have an RS and I enjoy it daily ,don’t care if it’s built in Mexico or Germany ,if the exhaust makes to much noise ,all I can say is RS owners all like it and don’t hate cuz you ain’t got one

Heel-toeing is fine? Are the pedals aligned in this model? I got the st and it's so damn stupid the brake is high up and the gas is down low. Tried to heel toe and I felt like an idiot trying.

The snap crackle pop adds about another 30hp. Looks like Latigo Canyon, super tight technical road. Lol that road makes me nauseous too after a while.

Based on some of the comments below, this 3480 lb hatch, if pumped up to 550 hp, could handily dust off a CLS63 all day. And, speaking of cars blowing up, I've seen more Lamborghini, mercedes and Tesla's catching fire than any Focus. That is because lots money doesn't buy brains though it might only be able to buy the car but not the skill to drive them . More wealthy folks crash cars than anyone else.

Nice RS and venue! Granted will not need smog for awhile good thing with not cats. However California is ridiculous now with noise regulations on exhaust.

What front splitter is that!?

The recall would mean a total engine redesign . the middle two bores can walk around under heat and boost . they use a floating bore design and should have let cossie do the engine.

What was ford thinking with that open deck design for this car?? The ST uses a closed deck block and can support a lot more power reliably vs the RS. Best engine mod is to get a Focus ST 2.0 block and stroke to 2.3L and then go to town.

Hopefully the 2.3 EB head design has proven to be solid, after the gasket failures and block cracks have happened earlier on, due to the "open deck" design of the head compared to the 2.0 EB (Focus ST) "closed deck" design which is much stronger, although less cooling capacity. GET YOURSELF A MBRP exhaust!!

The exhaust sound had me giggling alil bit....I would definitely need some way to quiet it down tho cuz I could taxi thru my neighborhood with it sounding like that.
