With a strong redo coming from arch-rival Ford last year, GM makes some tweaks to their two-punch full-size truck offerings. A new front-end, 8-speed transmission, and the latest infotainment gadgetry give buyers plenty of reason to keep the new 2016 GMC Sierra Denali high on their list in this highly competitive segment.

Just bought one last week! 2500 HD, Denali loaded, with the 6.6 DMAX. Stone metallic blue, with a 6 inch lift and 35x12.50x20 tires. Love this truck!

I do like that blue on the Sierra Denali HD. It's my most favorite color on those trucks. It looks alot more cool and fancy than black.

I agree. According to Scotty Kilmer, he said that keyless cars are stupid because they're too expensive to replace compared to regular old keys from the 2000's, 1990's, 80's, 70's, etc.

Nothing beats the convenience of walking to your truck opening it up with keyless entry and just pushing the button and going. Why people want to dig around in their pocket for a key is beyond me but to each their own

1. fastest truck in the 1/2 ton segment 2. nicer interior than the F150 limited which runs over 68 g's 3. has the quietest interior / sound dampening 4. has a better infotainment system than fords or Toyotas 5. and for 10K less than the limited 68K F150 it gives all the same features (minus push button and massaging

GM sells the most half ton trucks (silverado 28% market share and GMC 12% market share) ford has the best selling name plate truck (F150 34% market share) both are great... but with the F150 limited now reaching 68,000$ its the most expensive truck on the segment yet its interior is not to the level of the GMC (with real wood and aluminium interior bits) or RAM. sad that the F150 is near 70,000 for a interior thats not as good. i hope F150 steps up their interior game since they seem to have spent all the money on the aluminium body.

Nice Truck , i got a 2014 S.Denali Truck but i do not think i would replace it with another GMC unless GM add more convinent and smart solutions especially on their Denali version like the one i have ... i would like to see a sliding down whole rare window glass like that of Tundra and a panoramic sun roof like that of Ford F150 !!! i want to see that on 2018 truck if they want real shift to include a bigger market of general population ... i like more smart bed components or at least adds on accessories options ... for such vehicle ,their should be a front camera if not side and clerance under car cameras as well !

This is my next truck. I really wish GM would match Ford on technology and features, but after driving the Platinum F-150 I'd rather have the Denali. The Platinum is really nice, I love all the features, but the headrests are too far forward and make it unbearable for me. Also, the ride is a bit rough. Finally, the price, you pay for all that extra stuff on the Ford and with super high residuals on the Denali it's actually quite cheap to lease for what you get.

+Vikk 54 like when did people get so dam lazy? like really "I don't want to take my key put my pocket"? that's like ford and it's new trailer assist where you turn a nob instead of the steering wheel to back your trailer up. gmc/chevy is the only one that's still a truck anymore. everything else is trying to be a car.
@coureurdebois
@coureurdebois 8 лет назад
+Vikk 54 as a someone who used to be a detailer yes the key fob is nicer for cars and sports cars... but in a truck there is something more, tactile in the feel of "twisting" the key, dont worry with the next gen or mid cycle refresh will kill off the key, but for now let us enjoy the key.

You may want to do better research. 1912 GMC became the "truck" brand with the combination of Rapid and Reliance truck manufactures. Not the "30's" as you mentioned. Also, the "Sierra" name first appeared around the 1971 or 1972 with the Sierra Grande level.

Just a word of caution - the new 2019 Silverado-Sierra twins can NOT even be ordered or does NOT come with the “power brake and foot pedal” adjuster.... Think about such a large truck without this option....If you have short legs, you have to move up the seat close to the steering wheel, which has an airbag in it. This is normally a pretty standard option for most trucks (GM, Ram, Ford)...I own a 2017 Silverado, but some “bean counter” within GM axed this very useful feature......why?

I never understood why GMC exists. Why would you want what is essentially a higher priced Silvarado. Why would you tow with this or do anything that could potentially break it. I don't really see the need for this kind of luxury in a truck. Its like using a Mercedes Benz as a taxi cab. How many people actually use these for work or God forbid offroading.

it's been a long time since this video was posted on RU-vid, but of course this truck does not offer push button start because this truck generation lasted from 2014-2018 an during those years f150 was released 2015-2020 which is newer get a 2016 f150 and a 2016 GM truck and the ford is newer even though it is same year this truck in this video already existed when ford released their 2015-2020 f150. The 2019- now GM trucks compete with the 2015-2020 f150. Even the 2022 Silverado competes with the 2015-2020 f150 generation

I have no idea why this young guy thinks the Silverado came about in 1999! Many years before 1999, the Silverado name was the top of the line Chevy truck. I'll just throw in that I like a key start. Never grasped the purpose of the push button start anyway. If the keys in the ignition I know where it is. By the way, I have the 2016 Denali and the 8 speed Transmission is a gas saver, BUT if you haven't heard of the Chevy shutter, check it out on youtube. It feels like your riding over rumble strips. They did come up with a tsb to change the transmission fluid to a different type fluid but it hasn't changed the hard shift from time to time. As a side note, in my opinion the magnetic shock system causes it to ride a little harder than standard shocks. So that's my take for what its worth.

Sierra and Silverado introduced in 1999? Weird, I had an '82 Silverado and an '89 Sierra. Must have been my imagination. ;) Also, this does NOT tow 11,700 pounds...only the SLT with the max trailering package can do that. The Denali is rated for 9100 pounds...big difference! Also does not have a 2000+ payload capacity...more like 1400.

Garrett Losabia the Silverado high country seems to vent to the back through the drivers and passengers seats. On the back, above the pockets

EJShelby those are the vents for the ventilated seats. If you turn them on you’ll notice the air coming out of the vents is warm.

I love the style of chevy/gmc trucks, but if your going to pay all that money the truck should at least have rear heating and cooling. In the the winter your passengers are cold and in summer there hot? They have to address this.
