Because i'm a subaru lover having own one in the past - they are absolutely indestructible. Rock solid mechanicals. Though i've never driven, first off: Subaru's 4WD system is superior to that of the CRV's. However, since most of us won't be using it on a day to day basis, having it running full time means higher fuel consumption. Secondly, Subaru's interior hasn't change since mobile phones haven't have color screens yet, so if you go for them, remember they have the industry's equivalent of the Porsche 911 when it comes to interior design. Subarus are very reliable, i actually coined a term for them, many premium cars have an expensive premium interior, i call subarus as cars that are mechanically premium - as in they don't spend your money on expensive interior plastics, but on stuffs that matter, the mechanicals. Subarus are ugly for many people, not sure about you, but i like their current designs. No one is better than Honda when it comes to interior maximisation of space, practicality and well thought out interiors. Subaru's service center network is greatly limited by their small size, but their service should be good as they're now run by a team that has brought Renault Malaysia to having very good after sales service, so this same team should be doing well for Subaru. I can be wrong though.

I'm sorry I don't think I can get hold of that car for now. But my impression is this, it's a nice and handsome enough car, but the steering is like a broken logitech gaming steering and the car has big screens that doesn't do much IIRC.

I'll try and see if the X-Trail is still available. But off hand I can tell you the X-Trail's ride is a lot more comfortable, but the Fortuner is one size larger, a more capable machine - and of course, the Fortuner looked great.

Yes, the weakening ringgit means if you wanna buy cars, buy now. The 2.0? I think it'll do just fine if you don't mine some of the features not available. I have to say, Honda is commendable for equipping their lower spec cars with full safety feature - this is super important.

Yes... missing 2 curtain airbags... only 4 available for 2.0i. Usually rear seat only used by my son in baby car seat... Now Honda started to offer 6 airbags even for low spec model, civic and accord. New cr-v is likely to get the same safety feature... But unlikely to be cheaper than current model .

Yeah, after seeing facelift straight away reget buying pre-facelift. The facelift is so significant Nicer Rims, Nicer front end+ LED DRLs. Better quality overall.

The steering on my test unit isn't light. it's adequate, but not as good in feeling as the ones in the new civic and accords. but better than the pre-facelift accord

no choice, they have to remain competitive. the mid size crossover market that they dominate last time was greatly challenged by the cx-5 and the x-trail.
