Motorcyclist staffer Zack Courts is always arriving to office after his commute with a bunch of opinions about the bike he’s riding. Too much this, not enough that, and occasionally has some decent insights. We thought some of it might help consumers or entertain enthusiasts, so we strapped a camera and microphone to the side of his helmet and told him to turn it on when he leaves his house. A lot of him talking in his helmet is complaining about drivers, yelling at red lights, and wondering why billboards aren’t more expensive. But sometimes he actually talks about the bike, and those are the parts we keep. Got a bike you would like to see discussed? Let us know and we’ll send him home on that one next.

No BS obnoxious music and "flash bang" video editing No BS showing off for the crowd or "every bike is golden" promotion Instead, every time it's a thoughtful, knowledgeable and, dare I say(dare, dare), ethical review and for that Zack, I thank you.
@TheRamsberg
@TheRamsberg 7 лет назад
Of note, and this may sound odd, but one thing that I appreciate a great deal is your shenanigans on the bikes. Because I have noticed that you don't engage in them to show off for the viewers. But instead they appear to be incited by the feel of the bike, the character of the bike. That's one of the most difficult things to gauge from a motorcycle review video, that fun factor. Some bikes just don't have it, some do and when you, as a tester, can't help yourself but to go a bit nuts, that's a good indicator to us viewers that the bike is inherently fun. Thanks for the good work Zack.

Simon Vuylsteke Chase's reviews are....meh. Not awful, not particularly helpful. He umms and ahs and then says "it feels kiiiiiinda like (some other bike most people haven't ridden) but nooot really, I dunno guys" about literally everything he rides. Also he knows fuck all about motorcycles so all his comments are literally just vague descriptions. He did an entire review of a bike and kept mentioning this weird engine knock he was hearing - it was the choke being open the entire ride.

I second what Eliot said. Most motovloggers know shit about bikes, they are just interested in their subscribe numbers.

The Indian Scout may be the better bike in every aspect except the sound. The sportster still has the proper sound. I don't like the sound of the scout, but it's a modern engine design.

Thanks for keeping it real and down to earth. Nothing fancy, nothing stupid. A motorcycle, a commute and a guy who knows his stuff. MC commute is one of the best things to happen to RU-vid for motorcyclists looking for reviews and info in recent times. p.s I did notice how busy your left thumb is even with an auto off indicator switch. :p

Hey Zack, another great review. I bought an Indian Scout in Nov 2016 and love it. I chose the Scout over the Scout Sixty as the Scout has 100 hp / 72 ft lbs vs the Scout Sixty with 78 hp / 65 ft lbs. Both bikes weigh the same. The Scout really hauls ass! I have a Ducati Monster 696 and I swear the Scout feels faster. The Scout and Scout Sixty are very well engineered and for my taste much more fun and enjoyable to ride than the Harley Sportster 1200 Custom I used to have. If you do decide to go cruiser shopping and want a "full size" bike, check out the Chief and Springfield. Both are really good looking well made bikes. Thanks again for the great video.

I've had a mc license for 44 years, been riding a scout 60 for a year now. The 60 is dramatically de tuned to make it polite for the entry level types. The map is different to compensate for the higher compression and lower hp of the 60 compared to the larger displacement Scout. This bike can become a monster with a few tweaks, its no weakling to begin with. Paughco goose necks, K+N filter and a re flash with the excellent non invasive Power Vision CX by Dynojet worked wonders. It's alive now, sounds like a V twin and will lug from low rpm. Hit the high rpm's and the motor's Formula One designer's heritage comes on like a rocket launcher. A seriously outstanding motorcycle before and after the mods

I felt the same way when I test rode the Scout. Its a fun, comfortable cruiser with a great motor. I think its appeals to someone who was into sportbikes because the way the engine revs and make power, its feels free revving and peppy.

Great review as always brother. Why you guys don't have a million subs is beyond me. Just don't like this bike for some reason water cooled American bikes turn me off. I will have to get used to it though only way the tightening emissions will be met. I still like the 883 over this bike in the price range. Again great review. Is Ari ever going to do one of this or is it just your gig. Thanks guys for the great content. ...

I have a question regarding the radiator: As you said, it looks very 'broad-shouldered' and fits the style of the bike well but would being built into the frame not also make it a real pain in the ass (or wallet) to repair or replace?

YEAH not a bad review I have a feeling most folks would love the ride position, I'm 15 years on a cbr rocket laid out for track so I totally get this guy when he says 'nope.' I was looking at this, the Tri bobber, & Indian bobber ended up with the Tri Thrux R, I needed that semi crouch position just don't think I can ride with the feet up.

@danielpork8416
@danielpork8416 6 лет назад
Zack, would a Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Indian Scout Bobber and or the new Harley Davidson Street Bob 107 be of interest to you for an MC Commute episode? Reason I think you'd enjoy the street bob in particular (despite riding position) is because it is the lightest H.D. on the new soft tail frame by atleast 48lbs or so. it makes great power to weight probably the best in the harley lineup save maybe the V-Rod and shares that smooth riding characteristic with it's soft tail brethren. The two Bobbers are just plain fast, mid sized cruisers which is nice.

Really? My Sportster was great! However, I had the normal size fuel tank on it, and that is because I got sick of visiting the gas station every 2 days. It was comfortable for me, and honestly, it wasn't slow at all! 50 horse is more than enough for highway and around town, its just that everybody is used to 175 horse you would see from a ZX10 or those other Japanese bikes.
