The enhanced sound in the cabin is definitely not “artificial sound coming from the speakers.” There is an extra tube extending from the intake that directs the intake sound towards the firewall and thus into the cabin. This is set apart from other manufacturers who do use artificial electronically enhanced sounds through the speakers. Do your research or maybe just look in your engine bay
I own a 2013 GS 350 and love it, 4 years on 49K the car is bulletproof with zero problems, no recalls, no airbag recalls. Great interior and build quality.
I own a 2013 GS350 F Sport purchased new. It has 45k on it, not driving it much anymore it’s normally in the garage next to my wife’s 2010 IS350C 52k on it.. I plan on keeping it now since Lexus will no longer produce them.
Vincent Vanderbilt yes there's the front fascia, wheels, an 8 speed tranny vs the 6 speed, there's the digital gauges and steering wheel that are obviously different. The adjustable dampers were revised from what I can recall. 2016 was the year the car was refreshed. With that said the 2013 is a blast to drive with the 6 speed auto. To me it has the perfect amount of gears for performance driving. The 2016 also gets better gas mileage due to having higher gear ratios etc. otherwise the cars are identical with a majority of the underpinnings carrying over. Oh yes and the tail lamps are different too...
I bought a used 2016 GS350 F-Sport (Ultra White Exterior, Rioja Red Interior) a year ago with 41k miles for $28k (Original MSRP $58k) & its been an absolutely amazing car. A huge upgrade & massive improvement over my 2017 IS200t F-Sport that it replaced with a lot more luxury, better ride & handling & so much more. Couldn't ask for a better car. The only two cons I have with the car are the climate controls which I wish had knobs instead of buttons, but I use the voice commands most of the time which help. I also wish it had a top down view camera which was never available even on the 2020's which is a feature I want for my future car. BTW mine has a power trunk lid (It was optional). Mine also has the Mark Levinson audio system which sounds amazing & is the best I've heard yet out of all six vehicles I've owned thus far.
@@oofben4978 Yes I do & still can't get enough of it! Has been an incredible car after a year & nine months of ownership so far! Not planning on getting rid of it anytime soon!
Really nice ride. Opted for the IS 350 f sport. It just had the appearance I wanted. But I really like the GS with the f sport package. Either way I’m glad I bought a Lexus.
the heated/cooled seat controls are in an awkward spot cause they're meant to be left on auto and not pressed all that much. they come on automatically based on the climate control temperature its one of the single coolest functions of the GS, never seen that in other cars before
Agreed supposed to be left on auto. Also turn is based on person sitting in their seats. If you leave the passenger on auto you will notice it only turns on when a passenger is seated
Yeah! I think the only luxury car company that offers just trim levels were you get all or nothing is Acura. I love Lexus but they really have a pricing issue. They have come a long way but are still not on par with the Germans.
Man I straight love the GS350 F-Sport mainly for its Design and sound system and man the accoutisc windows that is a really nice feature that I love and I'm glad that I'm getting one for my 1st car or a gsf if I could get one cheap.
It is a very well put together car. I would’ve loved to get the GSF but the rear wheel drive would have made it impossible in the winter. Maybe an AWD variant will come in the future but I’m not too hopeful. You could find some great deals on used GSFs with fairly low mileage. But these cars are made to last!
@@FullThrottleMedia Yeah that's true and so far there are some gsfs going for cheap prices but they are rebuilt ones that have been in accidents but I'll see because my other option is an isf which I definitely could get because they are below my budget but only wish that in California their was a 14 for sale because so far theirs only 2008-2010 the closest 14 is in Texas but guess I just gotta wait and see.
@@FullThrottleMedia What is the pro and con of RWD vs AWD on this GS350? I drive in city mostly and some highway, so which one should I get? Thanks buddy.
I will be sure to get that done. Still own it. Right around 115k miles and still going strong no issues. Look out for the video hopefully in the coming month around late November!
It’s on my 2015 but honestly it’s kind of a gimmick in my opinion. I mean it looks cool to show off but it takes so long to open and close id rather just be able to do it by hand
Your cons are nit-picking. The car is awesome, I have one and will buy another, but these things never break down and will keep it for YEARS ! Lexus rules
+MrMustangrick it is a fantastic car. It was probably the hardest video I had to make. But the only serious complaint I have is the info-tainment system. It's a little laggy, and the mouse pad isn't the easiest to operate while driving. But other than that, it is a fantastic car and will last a long time
I think overall Lexus is more considerate for the GS than the IS. Great car for the money! Enough performance with unconpromised comfort or reliability!
Agree on everything you've said. I love everything about it, but there are a few things that bug me about it. I'll just list my dislikes for now, if you don't mind: There isn't a big difference between sport and sport+. They should have just kept one. The transmission is jerky sometimes. The hold feature is annoying as hell. For example, if you're coming to a stop to turn at an intersection, waiting for people cross, it holds you. I wish it was like the Mercedes' where you just press the brakes harder to engage it when you need it. No headlights washers standard, hate looking at that blank button above the heated steering wheel. Cup holder cover isn't flushed with the rest of center console when you close it. No charger outlet outside the center console storage. They should have put one by the passenger foot well. My phone is also too big for the tray. No ambient lightening. There's some on the doors when the car is in park, but they turn off one you put the car in drive. The airbag cover on the passenger side dash isn't wrapped in leather like the top of the dashboard. I wish they matched the stitching on the dash and doors to match the seats colors. No Apple car play or Android auto. No pano roof. I think that's it LOL. I know we can't have it all, but I think these are the improvements for the next GS if Lexus were to ask me.
+yass123 my #1 thing is when i opened the door i always accidentally press the auto seat adjust bottom (1,2 and 3 button) the seat will start adjusting when I'm trying to get out the car.
I would have to agree with all those listed. Especially the transmission. Especially when put in manual and downshifted into first gear. The jerkiness makes the ride very hard. However, when under a full throttle acceleration, first gear makes the car fly.
Agreed. What seems stranger to me is that when you floor it from a standstill, the gearshifts are seamless, but at lower speeds, they can sometimes, not always, be a little jerky. Obviously some of it has to do with the finesse of the driver, but it seems like the Lexus people should've gotten that right at this point. The cup holder thing drives me slightly nuts, slight complaint though. Honestly, my biggest complaints about the car are: 1) There are more rattles in here than any other car I've ever owned - HOWEVER, this is the quietest car I've ever owned, so it is very possible that I'm just hearing more rattles because of the quieter overall interior, and 2) The freaking center console. Useless. There's nowhere to put my sunglasses, nowhere to put my radar detector, it's not big enough for anything useful. Seems like a minor complaint, but man...my old Optima had way more storage space between the glovebox and the center console. Like I said, minor, but it affects me on a daily basis. Overall though, I love the car to death. It's literally everything I want in a car. A bit of performance (not going to beat a 335xi, oh well), practicality, tons of reliability, luxury, and it's not a minger like the IS is. Love it.
My GS has a power trunk and I find it annoying and more for show than anything else, much quicker to just open and close your trunk than wait for it to do it itself.
Nice car, im a huge Lexus fan mostly because of their reliability. The lines on this car are not as good as the Audi or the BMW though, it has a a little bit too much of those Camry lines. That said, if your buying used, always go for the Lexus!
Great point made. I think Lexus is going in the right direction now especially with the LC500 and LC500h. If buying used, absolutely Lexus is the way to go
My 2016 GS350 AWD has 16,000 on it now. My engine seems a bit noisy, especially on a cold start. Is this common with this engine. Previously, I had driven 3 new Toyota Avalons and the engines on all 3 even after many miles was super quiet. Seems I hear a bit of chattering as I describe it which I'm not use to. I understand the ES and LS models are much quieter. Anyone else notice this on the GS 350 models. Love the car and all other features, but wondered about engine noise. I do burn Premium fuel all the time.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I asked a Lexus technician about this, and he said this is completely normal. I agree it is a little bit noisier than many other Lexus models, but not to the point where it is overwhelming. But the noise is nothing to worry about!
@Larry this car lets in more engine noise than your regular Lexus so that you can hear that sweet V6 engine roar at higher speeds, but yes it can sound a bit rough at idle. That is perfectly normal for this vehicle.
Still, not like a V8. Not even a little bit. Pops and crackles aren't even the characteristics of a V8 lol. The tonal differences of a V6 and a V8 couldn't be any different. They are waaaay different. Don't get me wrong, the GS350 actually sounds amazing. It just doesn't sound like a V8, which isn't exactly a bad thing :)
They do have the trunk with the automatic close button on the left side and the handle to pull trunk down instead on the right side. Mine has it, Southbay, CA. I think it depends on the dealership.
The power trunk is standard on the RWD F-sport! as far as the gear shifter direction, this is the right direction, the direction you want, is found on german cars which is the wrong way...
You were probably looking at the pre-refreshed 2013-15's which have traditional analog gauges. Only the refreshed 2016-20's F-Sport models have those digital gauges.
One of the best things about the F-Sport Package is the Gauge Cluster alone! 2014 F-Sport is a great car. The GS line up is built to last a long time. Great car all around
i am curious if the LFA inspired gauge cluster is only for 2016 and newer F sport because i have seen some other f sport models thats older and they have the regular gauge cluster......also the power trunk is an available option, maybe with the luxury package. I am looking to buy one of these cars in the coming months so i have been doing research.
Yes,, if the 2013 had it,, I would still be driving mines and not wanting a newer gs350 The f sport gauge cluster is literally the best I ever seen under 100k
Thank you for your awesome review...I am looking at a used one now...do you still like the car. My car I am looking at has 54k miles on it. Thanks if you are still reading comments.
Great review. I am thinking about abused 2016. Lexus GS350 either F or regular. A bmw 535 or BMW 430i. What do you recommend. Is there a lot of caning noise over 2k rpm. Thx
Right now, I own a 528 as well as the GS 350 F-Sport. When I have both to choose from, I find myself going towards the Lexus even though they are both great cars. I find the Lexus to be more comfortable when you want it to be and sporty when you go into sport plus mode. There is not a lot of noise in the Lexus unless you are full throttle and over 4K rpm. If I were you, I would test drive all of them to make sure that is the one you want. No doubt that the Lexus feels a little bit more luxurious, but it is all preference. Hope this helped
I bought a used 2016 GS350 F-Sport (white exterior, red interior) three months ago with 41k miles for $28k & it's been excellent so far. It replaced a 2017 IS200t F-sport & is a huge improvement, especially the engine & cupholders.
Strange,I’m the owner of a new 2017 Lexus GS350 F-Sport moonlight blue with red interior and,I have the button which closes the trunk by itself(also has that feature of Mercedes S-class,when you don’t close it properly-it does it for you)but I don’t understand why they didn’t do it with the doors too LoL
+chirag somaraj somaraj in terms of quality, hands down Lexus is better. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is incredible. However, this is a 3.5 liter V6 so the power is lacking. Haven't been able to drive one of those cars, but would love to get behind the wheel of one of them
I agree at this price point I shouldn't have to reach up and pull my trunk down, its honestly embarrassing. For 58k you couldn't throw in a $400.00 option automatically??
There are many differences. First you have the F-Sport styling which includes the front bumper and the rear spoiler. Also you get the F-Sport rims. There are also bigger brake ducts for additional cooling. You also get the F-Sport steering wheel and the full digital gauges that change color when put into sport or sport + mode. This can be comparable to the BMW M-Sport package or the Mercedes AMG styling package
My 2016 has a close trunk button which I thought was ridiculous since it's so light. Yeah I guess it's okay if you dont want fingerprints on the paint when closing it. So you may want to update your video with a comment!
I agree there should be a outside trunk release but complaining about no power closing opinion meaning you have use your hands to completely close the trunk makes you sound lazy
As far as luxury goes, the Lexus will beat the BMW 5 series. The quality of the interior is far more superior, but the handling and performance of course will go to the BMW. However, the new BMW models are stunning as well, especially with the new 5-series.
It does. It has Lane Keeping Assist. It will alert you when you are drifting into another lane and will slightly turn the wheel to put you back in lane
+ARAB PRINCE On the GS F-Sport model, anytime you switch it into sport s or sport s+, the gauge cluster will turn white. There is no way to change it to any other color. I am not sure which other models offer this feature. Check out the Lexus website to learn more!
+Kid Going Through Puberty There are engine sounds coming out of the speakers to enhance the driving experience...a lot of high-end cars are doing this/have been doing this for a while now. If you request it, they can turn it off or disconnect it
i had got a brand new 2015 toyota avalon xle in april of 2015.. thinking about a Lexus Gs 350 fSport.. how is the maintenance on the GS 350 compared to my avalon???? reliable ?
Extremely reliable. Lexus engines have been proven to run over the course of decades. Plus you will most likely get a deal where they give you free maintenance for a certain amount of time
If you prefer the bmw or Mercedes interface you probably should have purchased one. Nothing against you but I'm so tired of people complaining about something that really shouldn't be an issue once you grow accustomed to it like with anything else. Easy fix. Tell me how that works out for you. I will wait!!!!
In addition the Lexus has a lot more pros that outweigh the cons. For one, it is more reliable and I will not have to worry about major mechanical issues.
I believe a used GS of this year and this mileage would go for around 35k on the used market. Take a look at autotrader or other sites to get an accurate estimate
Nowadays, manufacturers will use artificial sound to enhance the noise in the cabin. A good example is the BMW i8. The 3 cylinder engine found in that car does not make great noises, but inside the car, fake noise is played to simulate a more exhilarating experience. Look into it because many automotive companies do this now.
I have driven this car. It does have good pick-up and handles fairly well for a sedan. Sports car it is not though. Pretty boring to drive in my opinion and seems like a waste of money over the cost of the standard GS350. If you want a sports car than you could do much better. This is a total waste of money was going thru my head when I drove it. I guess whatever suits ones taste though.
I traded my 2014 GS 350 F Sport. I didn’t want the responsibility of paying for the $1200 brake jobs. And the constant brake dust was a pain. I should have purchased a non F Sport GS.
John Green you bought a 50k+ car and you don’t want to spend 1200 on one of the most important safety parts of the car when it is due for service? Guess you skipped oil change as well. The amount of money the dealer stole you from the trade in is a lot more than $1200.
@John Green I got 2015 RWD GS350 F Sport. Regarding brakes and rotors. I went online and purchase Black Dimple Slotted Rotors and yellow brakes pads staged 5 kit from EBC for 2015 GS350 Fsport.Product Salesman gave me $80 dollars gift certificate discount total $843 dollars. These brakes pads and rotors eliminate dust, dissipate heat, air circulation, and massive stopping distance in the rain 🌧️. Also I like the styling of Rotors with yellow brakes pads. All I'm saying there are options less expensive OEM rotors and brakes. Keep in my Lexus discontinued GS model in 2020 . These vehicles will be rare to see in future 👍👍.
@@thylandyoung5895 I just recently purchased a 2021 GX 460 with the Sports Package (19 inch gray wheels). I also purchased the Lexus warranty that covers the maintenance for 5 years. I am good now. Thanks.
